I have to make serration (circular groove) on the face of the flange. The problem each groove dia will be different or incremental to the previous groove. I don't want to draw sketch for each one, that will be too much work. Of course, pattern won't work either.
I have been asked to change some of the default weld settings within the weldment template, i.e. set groove weld to full face full face, set the fillet weld to 6x6. so that when we do a new weldment these things are already set, have hunted high and low on here, through google, autodesk knowledge base for inventor but havent found anything, not sure if havent put the right keywords in or that it just isnt possible to do.
In the attached assembly, I would like to fill the four corners (see Figure 1) with weld to make one smooth bead around the perimeter of the end cap rather than using fillet weld to lay down four linear beads along the edges. I accomplished this with a groove weld (see Figure 2). However, problems occurred (pasted below) when I attempt to weld this piece to a surface.
Error message:
" Create Weld Feature: problems encountered while executing this command. example.iam: Errors occurred during update Fillet Weld 3: Could not build this Fillet Weld feature The attempted operation had problems trimming and discarding faces. Try with different inputs."
When I had the four original fillet weld beads, I could fillet weld this part to a surface no problem (see Figure 3). When I switched it to a groove weld to get the desired corner appearance, I get errors. I tried to mess around with the tick boxes in the groove weld dialog box to try to fix the problem but nothing worked.
Ultimately, my problem can be solved if I could simply fill the corner gaps without using the groove weld command. This would eliminate the errors associated with fillet welding over groove welds.
Let me know if the attached files do not work. This is my first time uploading an assembly and its associated part files.
Figure 1: Corner with fillet welds (need to fill that gap)
Figure 2: Corner with groove weld (gap filled)
Figure 3: Fillet welded (concave) to plate. Still need those corners filled.
My inventor crashed while doing a Save as.. Jpeg, now my coordinate sistem indicator looks bigger than normal (photo 2) and indicators in drawings and modeling enviroments now look bigger and pixelated, (see photo 1 and 3 where im selecting a centerline and dimension respectively).
As you can see, the icons dont dinamcally size according to my zoom, so if youre viewing the dimension from a wide zoom angle, it will get covered completely with the green dots, it was working fine before that crash. (Small and scaling icons with good resolution)
System is an hp z600 workstation, no amount of reboots have worked remedy the issue.
1) When you click the Browse folder icon to pick an Assembly to insert into, the 'Component Properties' dialog pops up, asking if you want to create a new assembly.
2) Whether you answer yes or no, no Browse Dialog pops up.
3) The path is left at the default of your workspace path. You can manually type in the path and Assembly name if you know it, but no ability to browse to it. It wants to create the new assembly in the default workspace folder.
When rotating and viewing sectioned parts I keep having a graphical problem, normally I loose the face the part is sectioned through, leaving a view into the hollow shell of the parts. Other times the problems get worse and random sections become visible. This doesn't happen all the time and both of these problems are solved if you click on the part. I have included a pic of a test piece that hopefully illustrates what I am talking about.
I am running Inventor 2011 SP1, on windows 7 with a Nividia Quadro FX 580 with the latest drivers.
The rotor is composed of cylinder and a solid lofted between two 3D profiles. The attached part file is correct. To reproduce the error- change the "inlet_width" parameter from 12mm to 10mm or less (it is a parameter in "Blade Profile" sketch). On updating the part there will be infinitesimally thin solid layer on outer diameter of the cylinder.
-3D Sketch profile is a projection not from the "Blade Profile" sketch, but from a plane offset from it. This was first attempt at a fix. I suspected the original tangent work plane to intersect the cylinder.
-Creating a new solid body from loft was the only way to avoid errors such as "non-manifold solid".
I will be creating multiple versions of this part and I need to be able to safely adjust the "inlet_width" and "outlet_width" parameters. I will be grateful of any proposed fixes/workarounds to that glitched behaviour.
When creating a break out view on a top level assembly that includes frame generator components, the break out function does not break these parts out. I know it is working because the non-frame generator parts are disappearing and being broken out as you would expect but the frame generated parts seem to be immune to the command. is this a common fault or something wrong with my particular model?
am using Inventor 2013, and have always had the ribbon undocked and on my 2nd monitor along with the browser bar. However, after a reinstall onto a new PC, i have a glitch - on the Enviroments > Stress Analysis > Display panel, the Adjust Displacement Display drop down bar is unusuable - if i redock the ribbon, it behaves normally, but when undocked, i cant select it, and it seems to be corupt with the letters "ult" in front of the word Adjustable - i've attached a screen dump to show the docked (OK) and undocked (with the error at the bottom) -
What's the best way to avoid a groove in the middle of the lip when creating facial morphs with symmetry turned on and using the grab tool?
If I align the two dots and drag in the exact middle, this doesn't happen, but then I have to grab the lip a bit to one side to keep the lip even, and the groove will start to appear when I drag.
I have a file thats doing something wierd, when I open it I can see the layouts just fine, the existing viewports show linework from model space. However, when I switch to the model space tab I don't see anything, my mouse cursor dissapears when I move it over the drawing area but reapears when its moved over the ribbon or the prospector/command prompt. Also, when I create a new layout with a new viewport, nothing is displayed in the new viewport. It's like the program cant regen the view? When I went into one of the existing viewports and zoomed out I could see all the linework in model space but when I switch to the model tab it won't show any linework or the UCS indicator or my mouse cursor!?!Â
When using the TXTEXP command to explode text in Map 2012, the resulting text/lines are 1/12th their original size and automatically move to a different location (see the attached jpg). This behavior occurs in all drawings being edited in Map 2012 (my colleague who is still using 2011 has no problems exploding text, and neither did I until I upgraded to the new version...)Â
Although the results are odd, they seem to be consistently odd in that 1) the text is always scaled down by 1/12th, and 2) the text/lines always move to the upper right hand portion of the view screen (Model or Paper space, doesn't matter), right below the Minimize/Restore Down/Close icons. Using the explode text command via the ribbon vs. typing it makes no difference. Fiddling with the original text properties (i.e. making it annotative, changing the orientation or Z coordinates, etc.) also makes no difference in the resulting lines.
using lenovo w520 with a 2 gig quadro 1000m win7 pro, a drawing file for a small cottage started to show hiding artifacts in most planes similar to when two items are drawn in the same place. ie, small triangles along the edges, and blotches of colour throughout the planes. however, only one entity was in each place.Â
I tried auditing the drawing, purging, rebooting, but nothing would fix this artifact issue. xreffed drawings in this file would have the problem inside the file (ie as an xref), but the original drawings did not. if I switched to parallel view, the problem went away.
as a fix, I copied everything to a new drawing, renamed the old one to a dead file, and renamed the new drawing to the original. this new file does not have the problem! is there some better, easier, faster, method to avoid this issue? and/or, did the drawing somehow get a setting that is not readily apparent and that could be easily reset? as a background issue, ACA died the last time I was in it, when I went out to Sketchup 8 and imported a dwg file. ACA died after about 5 minutes of sitting on its own. so, the file could maybe possibly have been silently corrupted by ACA when it croaked.Â
When I open Civil 3D 2014, my prospector will be off, If I open it, my screen splits as if it were two vertical viewports. Prospector appears in only the top one, which does not respond.
Here's a screen cap
I've been opening old drawings that don't seem to have this problem, and then creating new drawings. Is it possible that this has something to do with a dual monitor setup?
I've never had this before, but when it happens it refreshes everything every time i interact with photoshop, which makes it very annoying. I made a new canvas, and the suddenly with every brush stroke or click of a button or whatever, the "new document" window pops up with most of its controls missing for a split second, and any drop down menus i recently used quickly appear.
Then the screen all refereshes and it goes away. This happens quickly. I managed to grab a screen shot when it did it though, showing a distorted menu appear quickly. I'm guessing its my video drivers, right?
I mean, its not a huge problem because a simple restart of photoshop sorted it out, and ive never had it happen before, but io thought it best to tell just as a notice if Adobe know anything about what could be causing it. I have the newest video drivers installed which has enabled photoshop to work on dual moniotors with open gl and also had a refresh prefomance increase in certian other areas.
When typing numbers or punctuation on Photoshop CS6, they always glitch and go back to the beginning of the sentence and can't be made to go after the letters.
I'm trying to flatten an image with a gradient. This was originally a RAW image. My photos keep having this "C" with circles around it (as seen in Photo 2).
I've been trying to achieve a VHS glitch effect in Photoshop for some time now, but have been having trouble. I found a t-shirt design by an artist who has done this effect really well:
How I can try an achieve this effect - I've already tried data bending an image file, but the results are no where near as good as this design.
Photoshop glitched during a save of an image that had been opened from Aperture 3, and now I can't open PS at all. The error message I get is:Â "Couldn't open the edit log file Photoshop Edit Log. Edit logging is disabled."Â I'm running Photoshop from Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Standard, Mac OS X 10.7.3 Â SInce I can't get into PS, I have no way of getting into the preferences settings. Â how to reset or delete the corrupted edit log and create a new one?
Ever since installing SP3 if I double click a file out of the file system I get another instance of CD open with the correct page size but no graphics in it. I then have to close that CD session and drag the file into the already open instance of CD... no biggie but annoying as I double click out of the file explorer all the time.
I made a simple gradient from black to white, then went to Select>ColorRange and used the sample color I had - #848484. I set the fuzziness to 0 to restrict the selection to only that color and then pressed OK. It selected three pixels. I copy and paste these into a new document to make it easier to see them. Now here's the glitchiness: I eyedrop each of the three pixels to see what their hexadecimal values are. One is 848484, another is 848484, but the last one is 848585. Why is Photoshop selecting an 848585 colored pixel when I'm telling it to only select a 848484 colored pixels? I would assume that setting fuzziness all the way down to 0 would restrict the selection to EXACTLY the color you specify, but it doesn't appear to be doing that. Is there any way around this? This is important because I'm trying to select specific colors that are not used as much and replace them with colors used more often in the image.
i have this glichi tried to disable themes(visual style)but it does not solve the problemupgrade the video and all other divers re-installed and reset the preferences does somebody see such glitch ,
I have the following problem. I've created a project which takes about 20 minutes. The projects contains foto's and video's (MTS 1920x1080). When I create an output file in the MPEG-4 HD format there is one point is my video where there is a Glitch.
There is one MTS file in my video where I see some white flickering, which is very disturbing.
I've performed some tests to try to solve the solution, but I think it seems that there is a fault or error in the VSX file.
Below I've added some of the results of some things I've have tried:
When I drag that one MTS file in my project to another location the flickering seems to stay at the same place but then in another video.
When I remove that one MTS file from my project the flickering is gone. It's a solution, but not at this point, it should be working.
When I play the video in Windows Media Player then I see the flickering, but when I play it with Video Lan then I don't see it. If I play the video on some computer with Media Player it also should be working.
Also when I export the video in the AVCHD (1920x1080P) format the flickering doesn't occur.
I was adding in some text to a hand drawn image that I scanned in. I put in the first label and it was going smoothly, then I highlighted it and changed the font and the black lettering I put in disappeared.
It still seems to be there, and it shows up in the Layers box. It's just as though the opacity has been turned down to 0% (which it hasn't). It's not stuck behind another layer and it's not the same colour as the background. I can still copy/paste text in and out but I can't make the text visible. Even if I put a colour overlay using the Layer/Layer Styles/Blending Options, it still won't show up.
Even if I start a new image, the same thing happens when I try and put new text in. Basically, my ability to add text to an image has been totally incapacitated.
Have I leant on the keyboard and triggered a short cut I didn't know about? Is it a glitch or a screw up with the program.
Okay, I use Photoshop frequently, and am quite familiar with the Pen tool. However, this time, when I tried to fill a closed path, the colour appeared on the OUTSIDE of the path. I've never seen it do that before, and it's proving persistent and annoying. I have no idea why it's done this, and therefore don't know how to fix it.
I've been using paint.net as is for years and never even knew downloadable plugins for it exist till now. I suddenly find myself drowning in things my beloved paint program can do. I like this effect and wonder if there is a plug in for it. Â Â This website has an online tool that creates it [URL] Â Im hoping i can get the look in paint.net. I've got some totally sweet results glitching some of my landscape pictures of the desert but it wond render anything large enough to use as wallpaper. Â what to use or how to create the effect?
For example, in the Scream And Shout Remix Video, there's an effect that randomly flashes, like they are a glitching hologram (for lack of better description). Such as in the attached pics....
How would I go about making something similar in Paint.Net?
