AutoCAD Inventor :: How To Control Number Of Side Actions When Designing Multi Impression Tools
Dec 3, 2013
I have a question for all the mold designers out there! How do you control the number of side actions when designing multi impression tools?
I recently completed a job for a customer where the requirement was to have a 2 impression tool with one side action to control both of the impressions. I found that if you pattern a part within the mold design environment and then apply a side action, the side actions would be copied to each of the patterned parts. I have created a test part to try and illustrate this (which is way out of size and proportion!):- Even if I combine the inserts, I still get the same effect.
I need to use/write a iLogic code. I have a assy, in this assy i have parameter Height and Width. And it´s no problem to controlls this two rules/value.
But I have a problem with the rule when my height will control the number of parts
If my height is 500-1000, one part. If my height is 1000-1500, two parts. If my height is 1500-2000, three parts.
Is it best to use suppress or use a pattern in this case?
I just wondered if can I assign a particular ITEM number to a particular part, instead of relying on order in the assembly.
I unsterstand I can overrite it in BOM but can I have it controlled from the part, so any time I instert it into an assembly, this particular number in ITEM coulmn pops up?
In my current verion of Lightroom, I don't tend to use short cuts, I use the sliders etc down the right side of the photo. how I get that back up with this version of Lightroom4 Beta?
like the headline says, I'm looking for a way to change the direction to which the windows in photoshop pop up. To make this clearer, I have illustrated what I want to do
Is there an option in the preferences (if so i can not find it)? Or any other way to do this?
I've used Elements for years and just got 11. There are only 8 tools shown on the tool bar (and not move tool). How to I see all the tools on the left side of the screen? Resolution is better than recommended.
I'm on CS6 on a year old iMac. Plenty of RAM and memory. For some reason all of a sudden, the tools on the left hand side of the screen won't work. All I get is the hand. What I hit or what happened. I've re-started PS, the computer and reset Bridge. How to reverse what happened?
I often run actions that have modal control for certain steps turned on, in particular, when I want to give a layer a custom name. Prior to CS6, I'd run my action, the window would open allowing me to rename my layer, and then it finishes my action. However, in CS6, it seems to ignore the modal control button selected, puts in whatever the default info is and continues on.
Since the location of an ellipse is extremely difficult to predict, would it be possible to make the ellipse tool behave like the Text tool?
That is, when you have created the ellipse, have a 'handle' appear next to it so you could move it to the exact location desired. Maybe even a selection box that you could modify its shape and rotation as if you had selected it.
The other feature I would like to see is constrainment of all drawing tools (brush, pencil, color change) as is done with the Line/Curve tool. Hold the Shift key to keep the line straight.or is there some way in which these features already exist?
I instal form SDK User Tools because I need in Inventor Drawing Tools (Revision cloud). I do this install like on website Autodesk show and I didn't get it on ribbon. I do also registry of this plugin but I also didn't get it.
I just downloaded my trial of inventor suite and before going through learning tutorials I want to find out the general work flow I need in order to see where to focus my attention during these 30 days.I need to be able to do mechanical part and assembly designs built around 3 scan files (mainly provided as .STL files).
1) take the file and orient it to the project axis/plane
2) scale it if needed
3) design components around 3 scan characteristics
4) design modifications to 3D SCAN to accommodate designed components (such as bolean out pockets to house components within 3d scan features
5) modify surface of 3 scan to allow surfaces to flow into changes made in step 4
example:
-take 3d STL scan of a solid screwdriver handle -orient it to the inventor work planes and axis -design a metal screwdriver bit based on the shape of the handles 3d scan -design and boolean out a cavity to accommodate the metal bit -place bit design within cavity
modify screwdriver handle surfaces to seamlessly flow onto the metal bit... what software would do what part of the process and if there is specific terminology what that is so that I can better search the knowledge base and Autodesk University?
I recently started working with Inventor (Solidworks user for 15 years). When designing new parts in an assembly in Solidworks, there was always an auto snap feature to align parts (centerline, midpoint, etc). I cant seem to find this option in Inventor 2013. Im trying to design new parts in an assembly but cant seem to snap to any other existing parts features or centerlines. Is there a quick way to activate this option? Is it even available in Inventor?
I'm working on a project in which a stamp stamps certain words onto the Screen. I have the stamp and all but making the words themselves is harder than I thought.
To be precise, I mean light rays coming from dj player and if you notice there is blue foggy impression on t shirt , How these things can be made in Corel Draw X4?
R2013 is stating on start up that the Geotechnics module has been loaded and displays the Tab for it.But I haven't installed the Geotechnics module for 2013 yet and it doen't work.
I downloaded AutoCAD on my windows 7 home premium, but when I click on the application it says "the application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail." I tried repairing it but that doesn't work.
I've got to plot several "half-size" sets of drawings (originally 24x36 drawings) and I am trying to minimize paper waste. I thought there was a way to set the drawings to fit multiple copies side by side but I am at a loss right now.

I downloaded AutoCAD architecture 2014 on my windows 7 home premium, but when I click on the application it says "the application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect.see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail." I tried repairing it but that doesn't work.
I have just updated to Windows 8.1,(32 bit) and when I try running Autocad 2013 I get this message:
C:Program FilesAutodeskAutoCAD 2013acad.exe
The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail.
what the "application event log" is or the "command-line sxstrace.exe".
I am trying to invoke AutoCAD 2012 and am gettting the following error: CUsersatillgrenDesktopAutoCAD.exe "The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail.
I just installed AutoCAD LT 2008 on another computer, it did fine for a couple of days then I received an error. Application failed to start because side by side configuration is incorrect see event log for further details. This is a "fresh" computer with vista, but since it ran okay a few days, I don't think that is a factor. I am not running another version on it, though I did intall this upgrade without first putting my 2006 on it, but if that was the case, why did it run a few days? How do I access the event log?
The problem I'm having with Skin Morph is that it's skewing my vertices side-to-side locally.
I'm using Skin Morph to better preserve the volume around the two joints of each finger of my hand model (See Arm1).
The two skin morph targets were created for the index finger while it was in the same position as the second image (Arm2).
I repeated this process, creating skin morph targets for the other two joints on the three other fingers and on the thumb.
The problem comes when I rotate the knuckle joint in any axis, in the third image (Arm3) I've rotated the knuckle downwards and you can see the vertices affected by the Skin Morph modifier have skewed to the left. When I turn the modifier off the vertices go back to their original position - so the problem isn't being caused by something like non-uniform scaling of my model (I reset the transforms before skinning).
The fourth image (Arm4) just shows the basic child/parent relationship that I've setup with the Bones and SplineShapes.
The fifth images show the (perhaps strange) position of the Driver Bone Matrix and the Morph Bone Matrix which could be constributing to the problem somehow.
I've uploaded the file so that you can explore my scene. armrigskinmorphproblems.zip

I need to put two pictures side by side to merge one person into a group shot. I had it once, but, the image of the one person was too big, and I could not figure out how to put that picture back and get another one to try.
You can organize a multi-threaded work with data through Inventor API? For example, there is a assembly and I need the first part of assembling a list of items to consider in a data set, the second part of the list - in the second data set, the third - the third and so on up to N, where N - depends on how many threads can run in the system . Whether these flows are processed and to receive data in parallel? Or go to the consistent implementation of this algorithm will first be processed by the first part, and only after it will start the second ...?
