Oct 25, 2012I have a sheet metal part that I converted into an iPart and I set up different rows with different sheet metal styles. What I want to do is run an iLogic code to change to a specific row which in turn would change the actual material of that sheet metal part....I've tried the snippet iPart.ChangeRow but cannot get it to run the code. I'm not sure if I'm not doing something right or what...

Sep 2, 2011I am trying to have one drawing with B size and E size sheets I am trying to get the border, title block and standard to change when the sheet format changes. I can get it to work when I run the rule but have hard time find information to just change when sheet format changes. And I can't find anything or I should say a sample of how to. I think I found the code just don't know how to make it work. Here is what I have so far.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Update Table In Drawing - IPart Active Row
Feb 27, 2013I have two tables on a drawing one showing a parts list the other changes to dimensions.
The table to show the dimension changes is a configuration table pointing to an ipart.
iLogic is used to update the ipart but you have to right click to update the Active Member in the ipart to see the drawing update.
Is there a way to automate the 'update active member'? (on the ipart table - this does update the drawing)
I just have the one row in the table, it's purpose was to pass the values onto the drawing (as the part resizes I didn't want the dimensions moving so opted to tabulate them) - hoping they would update!

Is there a way to have a table update parametrically i.e. I've tried .csv as a source to the table but can't force an update. This way I could scrap the ipart & just import the values to a table.
The table also includes some txt comments which change with the ipart properties.

Aug 8, 2013We are looking to switch from SW to Autodesk in order to utilize advanced surfacing in Alias, and its interoperability with Inventor. However, we need to continue to perform Kinimatic linkage studies as well using Inventor. I need to make sure we can perform the same calculations with ease before making the switch.
At this point I am trying to mimic in Inventor the kinimatic studies I perform in SW. In SW I would perform these studies within a single part file, using a single sketch only (no solid parts). Within this part file I would break up the total "travel" of the linkage into configurations that are driven by a "Design Table". The Design Table would be used for both the main driving value, and for any driven values I wanted to use for analysis.
I am trying to find a way to get the same driven variables written to an Excel file to use for analysis using Inventor.
As a test example:
I would like to drive one variable(Damper Length) to get ~20 different iParts, each with the linkage moved to a new point within its set range of motion. I then would like to write several Driven variables(Displacement_1-3 shown in "RULE CODE" attachement) from each iPart instance to an Excel file.
I have been able to get my 20 iParts and the linkage to move accordingly(iPART INSTANCES attachement), but I have not figured out how to write the driven data to excel for each iPart instance(20 rows of data, 3 columns). I have only been able to write the dimesions for one row of data...whichever iPart is currently open.
with the necessary iLogic code or another solution? It seems like this should be pretty straight forward. Do I need to be using the "ChangeRow" iPart Snippet?

I want to make a selection from the field in my form and swap out my iPart in the assembly for my selection.
I thought that something like:

This close the document but brings up the following Error msg...
Catastrophic failure (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8000FFFF (E_UNEXPECTED))
Any better piece of code that shuts down the active document but doesn't return the error? (I only want to shut down one document, not the application)

Nov 29, 2012I have a ipt which is controlled via an ilogic form,this form is opened by ilogic code, which in turn is triggered when the ipt is opened.
my problem is when the part is placed within an assembly the said form is triggered and the same happens when the assembly is reopened!.... I would prefer if the form opened only when the ipt is opened or edited....
Is there a snippet of code for this? Or is it even possible?

Sep 13, 2013I´m having a bit of an issue with a form.
I have a global form which is exactly made for a specific assembly for configuration of this very assembly. To make things easier for the user I call another external rule which only opens exactly this assembly.
Now when the user opens the form the assembly is not open and obviously can´t reference the used parameters.
Even after loading the assembly the parameters are not available, which results in something like this:
So this is a really simple question, is there a way to update a form so that it rereads the parameters from the assembly?
What I tried is using iLogicForm.CloseGlobal("Name of form") to no availability and then open it again with iLogicForm.ShowGlobal("Name of form").
But I couldn´t find any further info on the iLogicForm Commands.

Nov 1, 2012I've created a main assembly containing several ipart components. With the following rule I can read the model parameters, but not the user parameters of the iparts:

If I create a component, insert it in the main assembly and make it an ipart afterwards, the user parameters can be read out with ilogic. But if I insert the same ipart again, the user parameters can not be read out anymore. Model parameters are no problem.

Nov 4, 2011I am trying to convert a standard iPart to an iLogic based part. The part has some text driven, cells..PatNumber, Description..ect..But when I try to referance those cells the iLogic code either does nothing or errors out.
Basicly i have a bunch of flange rings with have several variables theat need to change as the part number changes, sounds simple right?I have rewritten the code so many times...I have gone from hunt and pecking to typing 300 words a min...well maybe not.
About 75-80% of all our parts are identical in shape but just get smaller or larger depending on what size portable auger it goes on.I have been trying to get the part to changed based on "PartNumber" but it has text in the value.
AutoCAD Inventor :: ILogic To Drive Pattern In IPart Requires Rebuilds
Aug 29, 2013I have a simple iPart, with driven parameters Length and Width. When length changes (from a multi-value list), the spacing on a pattern and the number of occurrences of that pattern also change.
Invariably, it requires a rebuild. Occasionally, it requires two rebuilds. As this part is in a second-level subassembly, opening the part, rebuilding it, then rebuilding its assembly, then rebuilding the top-level is consumptive.
I've been using iLogic and iParts for about a week now, so I might be missing something basic. File attached.

May 6, 2013i want to use pictures with my forms and was wondering if i can use them like the way i showed in attached image.
the CaseA image is the one i can currently use and CaseB is the way i want to use. My reason to do this is, i have alot of parameters to change and having both the picture and a menu below/above takes alot of space which also seems redundant.

Jul 24, 2013I have a form used to select from pre-defined settings (case statements in the rule) and custom entry.
I have a drop down that provides the selections from the pre-defined stuff or custom with fields that show the results.
If custom is selected the user is prompted to enter data in popup dialog boxes which all works fine but I would rather select custom and enter the data in the fields on the form than in the popup. can that be done?

Aug 31, 2012I have one particular file which will not allow me to add an iLogic form. When I select "Add Form" it does nothing. This only happens in this one file. I can open other files in the same session and they work fine. I can add iLogic rules to this file but I can't create forms.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Paste ILogic Form Into Thousands Of Files
Jun 20, 2012I have an iLogic Form that I've created and implemented into our model template files. I am manually adding this Form to all existing files. It's a time consuming process of opening the files one by one and pasting in the same Form over and over.
Any way or program has created where it will take a Form opened in a model and paste that same Form into a selected group of files?
BTW I'm also having to do this to the Drawing Resources folder of Inventor IDW and DWG files as I have updated/modified our border design on the new templates. I want all of our existing drawing files to have the new border. So again I'm having to manually open each drawing file and paste in the Drawing Resources folder then clicking "Replace" any time it sees an existing name rather than click "New" as it would then give me duplicates of those names.
