AutoCAD Inventor :: Cannot Find Customization For Marking Menu For Sketch

The Marking Menu of 2012 so far is a big brake for me.

I wish I can make some alterations but I did not find in this huge variety of possibilities
the option to alter the context menu of the Sketch.

I am in Sketch. I drawing the line. I want to quit. I do right click and have the menu. the name and probably the sub name of that menu. I cannot find it at all in the Customization list. I wish at least to locate the Escape to bottom. Did not find also the option to turn the Marking menu off.

I've been forcing myself to accumulate to the new marking menu and gestures system. I'm starting to get used enough to them to see that it's really worth it.Â
I've found that the defaults are crap for what I do in IV, which is fine because I can customize it to whatever I do use.
However, when I RMB on a component pattern it displays a unique menu for which there appears to be no option for under customization. I'd really like to replace the craptastic useless options with things that I actually use.
By the way, why does AutoDesk neglect component patterns so much?

I want to assign the viability and open part commands to the marking menu in the presentation environment, but they are always greyed out. They show in the drop down menu below it though??

If i press RMB on an item form the marking menu it enables to suppress or modify it, but, on 2 computers, the RMB on the item activates it, just like the LMB.

I am trying to update the marking menu for those situations where I am 2D sketching. The change I want to make is to add create feature and create constraint. I don't see how I can add these.there is a way to add more marking menu buttons? 8 buttons are not always enough for my purposes.Â

how to control what is loaded into the marking menu and keyboard customization.
I have made my own custom setting for marking menu and keyboard but have had to export it to the desktop and then re-import it inventor start up otherwise I loose all my custom setting.
Is there a folder / file where I can set my cutomized setting and get it to load on inventor start.

The marking menu covers just about every thing I can do... except for one very important thing (well for me anyways). It does not show me the value of the cell when its a function. For example, say that I edit an extrusion whose length is (12+36+11.254-.37). In previous Inventor versions, if I hoovered over this highlighted value, it would show me the resulting value and its name.
Inventor 2013 does not do that. In order to find the value I have to use the arrow keys and scroll through the box and then add it all up. It does not even display the parameter name...like d1, d2 or whatever, like all other Inventor versions did.

Marking menu that cuts off the bottom of the screen yet? This is very anoying that on some PC's if clicking somewhere closer to the bottom of the screen a portion of your context meny cuts off. If you click even lower then it jumps to the top but there is an area where it does not work.

When i select a tool trough marking menu it loses focus when marking menu disapears, focus is then set back to inventor. We have 3 PC's with inventor here, but only i have this problem. Just started doing this today, i have restarted didnt work, and i have tried the old 2012 version wich works fine...Â
Very irritable when i start a macro that need keybord input and i have to select the userform again before typing... *angryface*

I'm starting to develop some customization for Inventor, and I need to decide whether to use VBA, .net, addin, plugin, or what else.According to this post .net is easier to use than VBA: URL....
I did a quick test and I found out that with VBA is much easier to use than .net: you can edit the source code while debugging, you don't need to compile and install anything, everything seems to work much smoother.Do I risk to find out that VBA has problems later in the development?
Where can I find documentation with comparison between the different customization techniques?

Is there a way to add a keyboard shortcut or marking menu shortcut for visibility? It would be really convenient to be able to shift-click several objects and toggle the visibility of them. I have a mouse with numerous buttons that are mapped to commonly used IV features, but I cannot find a way to map a visibility toggle.

On older versions of Acad, I was able to go into the .mnu file and do a macro such as follows:

And a new pull down menu would be created and my listing of bolts could be inserted from the std libs bolt file as I clicked through the route. Â I developed all of this on older versions at a different company. Â With 2014, I went to the CUSTOMI ZE under the main Drafting and Annotation / AutoCAD Classic pull down and created a New Menu, renamed to BOLTS and then pulled the INSERT command and dropped it ontp the BOLTS pull down and changed the DISPLAY NAME to 1/4" and edited the MACRO from ^C^C _insert to ^C^C_insert;F:/STD/LIBS/BOLT-01/BOLT025A;;;; Â Seemed to work fine....until I added another 10 bolt assemblies and then noticed that they all showed up as whatever the last bolt I had put in the Macro line was. Â The display name stayed correct but the insert was gloabally changed on all pull down to whatever the last item was. Â I have reset 2014 back to the original settings now to clear out everything I had done.

How I can modify this to something closer to the 2011 version. More specifically - I used to use the "camera based selection" option all the time, and would love to have it back... It would be a bonus if modifying the marking menus for specific keys, was as easy for the ones surrounding the hotbox.

I would like to use iLogic to find the location of the points of a line, determine if the line is approximately vertical, and apply a vertical constraint if it is vertical.
Here is the code process I envision:
1. Automatically select a straight line.
2. Find the location of its end points.
3. Compare the X-value of the end points to see if they are vertically aligned (or almost so).
4. If they are vertically aligned, apply a vertical constraint.
5. Select next line and repeat.
Is this possible with iLogic? I don't see any way of calling a line's sketch points or finding their location.

My mouse has a lot of extra buttons on it, and I've set up Maya to open different marking menus when using those buttons. In order to use those marking menus, I have to hold down the extra button and then left-click. Is there a way I can set up the marking menus to open without left-clicking?

I have section headings in my document that have a Paragraph style applied to them. They are always of the form d.d.d.d( ) follow by a short sentance of text. For eg:

I am looking for a GREP style that can underline every word character with a character style but not the spaces between the words. It seems to involve nested iterations which I'm not sure how to do including a non-marking expression. Well it aint working how I think it should…

I've tried to figure out the pattern of how the command works for inputting partial customization menu toolbar names but I'm unsuccessful.
You should be able to show and hide partial customization menu toolbars with the -toolbar command because it can hide all toolbars including my partial customization menu toolbars currently shown. I've tried the toolbar menu alias (defined in the CUI command) and the name (refer to this link to the same image embedded below) and none work.

I've created a shared sketch and have used it with various features. Sometime those features are suppressed. The model works fine but the shared sketch generates a sketch doctor error because the feature that created it has been suppressed. Is there anyway to make the sketch suppressed so it doesn't trigger a sketch doctor error? Inventor 2013

I am now looking to work with custom iProperties that will populate our company's new BOM standard. I have not done much with regards to customizing a BOM (I've always used the generic fields). Now my boss has come to me and wants to use the following headings for our BOM....
REF ID, QTY. , DESCRIPTION, SHAPE, SIZE, LENGTH, MASS, TOTAL LENGTH, TOTAL MASS, COMMENTS, REF. DWG.
REV., REV. DATE
While I understand some of these fields will require the user to manually type information in (Comments and Ref. Dwg.) The others, from my understanding, can come straight from iProperties or Parameters. I am running INV Pro 2013.Â

Is there a way to customize the BOM columns so that Inventor remembers which columns I need? I know that I can add in the file name column etc. but I use the same columns over and over. I find myself in every assembly adding these columns in.Â

How do I duplicate the 2D line work from a part level sketch into a drawing level (overlay) sketch?
I started a simple 2D piping system diagram sketch by opening a new part file and using a sketch to stick draw the system schematic including some annotations. Then I opened a new drawing file and made a base view of the part file to bring a view of the original sketch into the drawing.
I realize now that it would have been much easier to have created the schematic directly in a 2D sketch at the drawing level, which would have made editing the annotations much easier at the drawing level, and there is really no need for the part file to exist. I have no intention of creating a 3D model or "real" part in the .ipt file, was just using it as a jumping off point to sketch.
I was thinking that I could correct my error in judgment by just copying the sketch and pasting it into a new sketch on the drawing, but it doesn't want to work that way. I have tried copying both the whole sketch at the browser level, and the entire sketch contents (all of the lines and annotations) from the opened part sketch, but when I attempt to paste either of those into the drawing, paste does not seem to be an option. I'd rather not have to draw the whole thing again, as in typical fashion, my once simple sketch has grown in proportion and complexity from its simple beginning.

First we imported an ".igs" file to inventor, which produced "wires". Then by promoting the wires it produced a 3-d sketch.Â
The model is in one plane and 2-D, and we are trying to use Ansys 2-D analysis, but in-order to do so it needs to be in a 2-D sketch.
The model is too large to be redrawn on a 2-D plane, how to convert it to a 2-D sketch
