AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Display As Intersecting Line When Zooming In
Sep 16, 2011Lets say you have a polyline snapped perpendicular to an acr and you start zooming in they tend to separate. In the past a simple regen would magically make them display as intersecting lines (no gap or overlap). Right now the regen isn't working and I can't figure out why or what changed. I tried changing the VIEWRES but that didn't seem to work. What else could it be? I don't even have to zoom in that far to notice the overlap.

Apr 3, 2012Also shift position (north/south). Have done this before in Autocad cannot remember process. It was a very simple procedure but I can not find any documentation on it. I do remember it involved picking the new position for each corner of the quad.
As well ,is there a way to clip the collar in Autocad. A clip that will not be affected by other clips necessary to other drawings?
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Random Zooming To Extents?
Feb 19, 2013My C3D 2013 just started doing this last week... I first noticed that it would zoom to extents when I operated the center mouse button for panning. It was random, about 1 out of every 15 to 20 pans using the center button.
But then I noticed that it's not just the panning. It will randomly zoom to extents when I type in a command. Earlier today, it did it when I did a REGEN, then again when I did a MAPWSPACE.
The other notable thing is that there is no "zoom" command anywhere in the command history when this occurs.
Besides changing the mice, I also tried rebooting and running a repair on C3D. I have Win7-64.
The problem seems to coincide with when I started using Autodesk 360. Not saying it's related, but it's fishy.

Mar 20, 2012Whenever I zoom out in a drawing in Civil 3D with surface contours, some of the contours disappear. I imagine this is a result from a system variable setting but could not find it.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Ghosting When Panning / Zooming In Paperspace?
Jan 9, 2013Since installing SP1, I have noticed "ghosting" when panning/zooming in paperspace i.e. the original image is still visible. The only solution I have found is to turn off Hardware Acceleration and then turn it back on.

Without the while loop, single execution works perfectly. But the while loop to emulate multiple (recursive) execution raises some issues.
My problem occurs during execution of my VB.NET code, and has to do with display of the generated entities after the user picks points.
User picks the start point, then picks the end point, but nothing is displayed in the modelspace; rather, user is prompted immediately to pick start point and end point all over again (because of the while loop I used to emulate VBA's GOTO).
However, once user presses ESC, all the leaders and blocks that were drawn during the execution of the while loop are immediately displayed.
Is there a way for me to make it so that EACH time the while loop executes, the end product is IMMEDIATELY displayed in modelspace at the end of EACH loop, BEFORE the user is prompted to pick points all over again (beginning of the next loop)?
The VBA code executes as expected during runtime, as a result of the GOTO StartAddTag line of code.
But I can't use GOTO in my VB.NET code because of its messy nature, so I used a while loop instead. And the while loop isn't performing as expected.

Jul 8, 2013I've got a surface that displays contours correctly. When I go to Surface Properties-Analysis tab, I can set an arbitrary number of ranges for contours, directions, elevations, slope arrows, etc, and they display correctly.
I can set an arbitrary number of ranges in the slope range box too, but when I click the Analyze button, Civil 3D 2014 hotfix 1 only displays two slope ranges: 0% to 2979736.0077% and 2979736.0077% to 99999900.0001%. (!)
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Surface Volume And Display
Jun 3, 2013I have a couple of questions regarding surface volumes/analysis in Civil 3D 2014. First, there used to be a way to determine the volume between two surfaces without creating a volume surface. The command is _AeccReportSurfaceVolume, but I can't find it on the ribbons in 2014 to save my life. Do I need to create a new button myself?
Second, and more important, dealing with the elevation analysis in 2014, and noticed that the colors reset anytime that the volume surface is rebuilt? It has always been annoying not to save a color scheme, but at least once you had set it up, the colors stayed as the surface changed. Is there a new setting that I am missing, or is this just a glitch with 2014?
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: 2011 - Will Not Display Ribbon
Feb 11, 2013I am using Civil3d 2011 and the ribbon will not display. The button seem to work some times but I can't see the ribbon, QAT, or Infocenter. I tried relaoding the CUI files, updated video card drivers, Civil3D patches, even uninstalled and reinstalled Civil3D.
I can turn the ribbon off (ribbonclose) and the ribon area is rendered correctly on the screen. I can turn the menubar on/off and it works just fine.
I tried logging on to the computer as different user, as the administrator, etc. Same error.
I use the Ribbon but now I can't because I can't see it.
I have attached a screen shot of the ribbon area.

Some things, like surfaces and such, are easy to find, but for the life of me I cannot find the location for settings corridor layer & linetype & color settings (display tab).
One of my last holdouts from LD is to manually draw my curb & gutter linework and ignore the lines the corridor would create for me. I basically used the corridor lines as verification, not their full use. I decided to break from this habit, then spun my wheels trying to locate where these settings might be.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Points Will Not Display In Drawing?
Oct 9, 2012I have a drawing where points that I create will not display.
I have created points in this drawing before.Previously created points display fine.Points created in another drawing and imported into this drawing display fine.All layers have been turned on and thawed, to make sure it's not a layer issue."All points" point group is the top point group.When I create a point manually everything seems to work fine, info is echoed to the command line, etc., but then nothing happens. Obviously it's a setting somewhere, but it is driving me up the wall trying to figure out what setting. I'm sure I will slap my forehead when told what it is.

I have always had it set up to when I selected a node the attributes (description, point number, etc..) for it would show up in the properties. Now I can only view them by double clicking the node. Is there a way to get them to display in the properties again?

Sep 5, 2013i've got proposed stormwater pipes crossing existing utility pipes. my proposed stormwater pipes run parallel to but offset from my road centerline alignment. i want to show the existing utility pipe as an oval where it crosses my stormwater pipe. i can get the utility to show up in the profile at the centerline alignment of my road but not at the actual point where the pipes cross. is there a way to show this?

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Publisher Doesn't Display
Mar 11, 2013My drawings contain active linework, civil 3D data (contours, etc.), and references.When a plot is executed without the publisher - everything appears normal. Specifically, all contours appear on plots and PDFs.
However, when plotting using the AutoCAD publisher (to batch many plots together, 70 or so plan sheets in 4 drawings) some Civil 3D data does not appear. Most contours are shown - however contours from a specific surface (existing ground surface) do not appear.
The publisher result is the same whether using a PDF driver or physical plot driver - these contours do not appear.
The style used to display the existing contours is used on other surfaces within the plot set - and oddly these contours appear on the publisher plot. However, no contours from this specific existing ground surface will display using the PUBLISHER.
Are there alternative ways to batch plot a set of drawings that I can explore without further cost?
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Alignment And Profile Display Needs
Mar 8, 2012I have a centerline alignment defined from a polyline that starts at the middle of an existing T-intersection and starts with Sta 1+00.
When I draw the existing profile using this alignment I want it to show starting from Sta 0+50, while the plan view maintains a visible centerline starting at 1+00. I can get the grid to display the 'previous' 50 feet easily enough, but not the existing surface line(s).
Is this possible?

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Cross Section Display
Feb 8, 2012I am working with cross sections for the first time and have run into a few things I can't seem to figure out. In attachment XSEC CIVIL 3D.pdf you will see how the cross sections currently look in my drawing.
My questions:
1. I cant seem to edit the elevation labels on the right side of the section to match the left side. Where/how can I do this?
2. What is the red line? In some sections it exactly follows the assembly section, but in a few (like this one) it doesn't quite follow. Does this line show where manual editing was done?
3. Where the pavement ends, there is a vertical line which I only want to show on the two pavement layers, it shows all the way thru the assembly. This also happens at the centerline of the assembly and at the edge of shoulder. I figured out how to turn them all off, but I want the edge of pavement vertical lines there.
4. Although the assembly section comes in on color 161 which should plot black for my pen setting, it plots true color. I haven't been able to figure out how to switch this. The second attachment shows a section from a LDD project a few years back which is how I would like this section to plot.
