How do you perform a traverse adjustment using a fbk file?
I have imported a fbk file through a network in the database. It is a quick loop that was run in the parking lot. The initial set up was 1 BS 2 the stations were 3, 4, 5, and the final FS was 6. 5 and 6 were the overlapping leg of 1 BS 2.
How do I include sideshots from a field book file in the adjustment of the traverse? In LDD you would import the FBK, then when imported, after defining loop you could check adjust loop to your specs. If it looked ok, you coould adjust loop, then when complete the command line asked if you wanted to adjust sideshots. You could select Yes or No and they would (or would not) be adjusted also. In Civil 3D 2013, I have imported the same FBK. When imported I have defined the traverse. I can then adjust the traverse to my specs, but it will not include the sideshots. The sideshots do not list in the Networks Non-Control Points list, so I am thinking this is my problem.
I have also edited the FBK to remove the traverse legs and just run as sideshots from the already adjusted loop values, but it still does not appear to work.

I don't know about open traverse...how to do open traverse and how to adjust it.

1. Set up on a known point
2. Backsight a known point
3. Move the setup a few times
4. Foresight a known point (either the same BS point above - closed - or another known point - closed connected)
The COGO geometry editor does not really seem to do this.
Am I limited to the survey command editor and the survey command language? Or is there something else?
I am working on modeling a pond riser. I had one model with a series of small round perforations in the riser and I needed to look at a version that used larger, square cut-outs in the riser. So, I performed a "save-as" and adjusted my orifices to match my new model requirements. When I attempted to run the model, I received the following error: "ERROR 537 : Unable to perform multiple storm analysis, no storm was selected.".
I have encountered this one time before and was able to go back to the first model and start over. However, now, even when I run the first model (small round perfs), I receive the same error.
I have a storm event assigned for both models but the program does not seem to recognize this any longer.
My alignment runs on the road center line and ends at the center of the cal-de-sac bubble. My corridor runs to the middle of the cal-de-sac. I need to shorten the corridor to end where the constant road width ends and the bulb of the cal-de-sac begins. I can shorten the Corridor on the alignment or do I need to create a new alignment to the desired length?

I have a curb in a section view and I want that Civil showed me just an elevation at the top of the curb and at the top of the road cover. Is it possible to do that? If i have even used the correct technique but how do i perform the bends in the flat bar so as the bottom and top section are vertical and the small mid section is on the angle. At the moment the mid section is displayed vertical when using the cub please see attached files.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am a newbie just start learning how to use AutoCAD in both 2D and 3D.
I have drawn a 3D polyline, and putting two circles with different diameters on both end, trying to loft it and create a horn-shaped like object.
For some reason, AutoCAD keeps complaining the path I selected is not valid, and so I can't do the loft operation. However, I have 'tested' the path with sweep function, and it works.
I have been working with autocad for approximately five months. I feel as though I have a pretty good grasp of the program's capabilities and commands, but I'm stumped. I've successfully imported a 3dm file to autocad 2012 and all of the geometry is present in autocad (it is not a 2d wireframe), but I am unable to perform boolean operations on it.
The model has also taken on a strange pale blue hugh, though the wirefram is lavender (unless I explode it and then unionize it several times over. Unfortunately this results in an issue with surface faces intersecting with one another, as well as a loss of geometry). The model cannot be converted to a surface nor a solid which means that it is not water-tight. This is not a model that I have created. I've been tasked by my employer to make several changes to it. Why (without exploding it) I cannot perform boolean operations.
I have an assembly as a template that was created by a previous employee. There are known variables that are controlled with an Excel spreadsheet.
What I am attempting to do is create a VB form that the user can input the known variables and then have the program open the template, perform the changes, and copy to the vault. Sounds easy enough. A few caveats:
If I store the template in the Vault (preferred), how do I perform a "Copy Design" with a VB6 program?If I store it on a hidden network drive, this prevents users from screwing it up, but then I have to open each indivual file and perform a "SaveAs". Also easy enough. But, since the previous employee linked each component of the assembly to the Excel file, I would need to perform a "Change Source" to the newly created Excel spreadsheet in each component. Not sure how that is done. I do have VB2010 Express, but just not as comfortable with it as VB6. (I know, get with the current .Net)

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am working with Inventor 2013 Professional. For some reason, after a crash last night, Inventor takes anywhere from five to twenty seconds to perform simple tasks. Things like Constraints, geometry projection, and saving are taking way too long. This is all of a sudden.
This is a simple project consisting of 10 simple parts.
I have inventor 2012 and I´m having trouble doing a cut boolean operation to two solids. One is a revolved elipse, so it´s a kind of egg, and the other one is an extruded rectangle.
I want to cut the egg in the rectangular solid, so I can obtain a rectangular solid with an empty egg space inside. I tried to use the "derived" command, so I derived the egg from the rectangular solid, and used the combine command, but with no success. Right now I have two separated solids on the same file (the egg and the extruded rectangle).
I have installed Photoshop CC and dragged and dropped my third party filters into the programs filter folder, but when i open the program they are not showing in the filter drop down list. Also the Photoshop icon is not showing in the launchpad window, but all the other Adobe CC applications are there. I am running an iMac on Mountain Lion 10.8.4
View 1 Replies View RelatedI previously used PS CS on XP Pro and all was fine. I then upgraded to Vista. Since I reverted back to XP Pro I keep getting error messages.
When I use the 'Open as' command, I get:
"Could not complete your request because it is not a valid Photoshop document" (yet it's a JPG) - works ok if I just usen File >Open.
When I try and shut/close down the file/program, I get:
"Could not complete the Close command becuase there is not enough memory (RAM)"
Strangley enought these messages then just disappear. Really stuggling to use this software due to the annoying pop up messages.
I am using Adobe photoshop CS3. I have two images that are identical aside from one image has a fingerprint mark. i want to remove one image from another to give me just the fingerprint mark. Is this possible?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have begun experimenting with bump-mapping procedures, and I decided to create a mask which would create the effect of a three-dimensional rectangular pyramid with a flat top. So far I have only created raised bump effects with the Gaussian Blur filter, but this tool apparently has it's limits in that it won't raise any shape by more than a quarter inch or so on the screen - after a solid black rectangle is blurred beyond 30 or so it loses it's impact on the colored background.
So I thought that maybe I could use the Blend tool, which can produce a longer gradient of white on black for a more gradual and longer bumping. Problem is that I only seem to have one layer of selection available, and I want that radial grade set for angles to operate on the area outside of what would be the flat area atop my pyramid, and I cannot get it to blend anywhere other than within my selected area. I sort of need to make Blend respond like the Bucket Fill tool to a defined area, but it seems that this would require a secondary selection border (sort of like making Blend act on a broad ring, but a rectangular one. ). I thought of simply placing a layer for the pyramid top over a rectangle with the Blend effect, but I think the gradient should begin outside of the top rectangle, not under its center. Also, I would need to merge these two layers (probably as another image unless GIMP allows the merging of cherry-picked layers). Anyway, what would be your procedure for producing this effect (any that works and produces a long, even grade from outside a flat area to the ground below)?
The last idea I mentioned (which I doubted would be satisfying anyway) would require me to merge the two layers, one for the flat pyramid top and another for the larger surrounding area which would set up the effect for grading to the ground below. It would be no biggie to do this, but here I discovered a particularly awful GIMP bug when I tried opening another image while using Radial. I have been working with GIMP for a couple of years as a practical tool for plotting project map locations with a few symbols which I've created using the same, but nothing requiring what I'm trying to do now. I have often had multiple images open, with one box listing my layers, and I have up until now been able to rely on it to report what layers I had to work with for the image I am currently working in. Now it's getting really crazy. I wanted to test the results of bumping white on black in different shapes to colored backgrounds, using different radial effects or different blurring effects, so I started with newly created images which I would compare. Working in the new images the Layers box displayed the new layers which I had created for each new image. For example, I bump-mapped a mask for a cone on a solid blue background, removed the layer visibility for the mask so that I could view the results. What I saw was NOT the effects of the mask on my blue background but the bump background showing what I had done with a rectangle mask in the image I was previously working on! The Layers box did not change, so no I could not have switched windows by accident. If the other window image window was still present (further unhappy experimentation revealed that it didn't have to be from the point after the new image window was spawned), it did not contain the cone effects nor any layers which I had just created. I have experienced this both on my work machine (Windows XP) and my home laptop (Linux).
I just downloaded the package but premiere pro is not recognizing it.
View 10 Replies View RelatedOn just one image this would be a no brainer, I'd just use the paint brush or similar tool to wipe over a section I want covered and use the crop tool to get the image size and position I'm after. The thing is though, I'd like to do the same edit and crop to a series of photos to keep them all consistent and it's beyond me how to do that in PS5. I find tips on using scripts, batch processing or stacking images that seem to defy the English language and don't address the two simple little things I want to do to these images.
Any resource, that could accomplish what I'd like to think should be a simple task for such an expensive program?
Photoshop keeps reading from the A disk drive whenever I perform any action. Selecting a tool, resizing the view, bringing up menus, almost any action, and my computer lags up for a second or two while it attempts to read from my floppy disk drive.

I tried to import (move) 2 images from desktop into Lr3.6, a jpeg and tiff but I got the message that cannot perform the imprt (paraphrasing).
problem is that now the images disappeared from the desktop and they are not in Lr either - thye are gone, not even in the trash.where the images might be? it's a Mac, 10.7.3
I need to rename a number of files to specific names which are not based on the current names. Simple to do outside of LR5 but I do not want to lose the related edit data which I believe to be the case if I do it outside of LR.
Assuming the name is stored in the metadata is there anyway to access that directly to perform the rename?
