View 9 Replies View RelatedMy layer Control dropdown isn't working. It's showing only the current layer. If I select an object on another layer, it'll display that layer and the current layer only in the dropdown.I've tried using the PICKFIRST setting, but this makes no difference.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been having problems using my layer toolbar dropdown menu. My drop down bar will show the current layer or the current layer and the layer of a selected object. I need to open the Layer Properties Manager in order to turn on/off or freeze/thaw other layers. It seems to happen the most when I have external references loaded into the drawing.
Also, the Layer Properties Manager has a few quirks. If I create a new layer, it will not record changes to the layer color, linetype, etc on the first try. I can make these changes, but when I close the Layer Properties box, all of the changes are lost. I need to reopen the Layer Properties Manager and make the changes again.
The Layer Properties Manager also seems to have a glitch where it will deselect from the manager back to the drawing without a mouse click. Also, when I click once on an external reference layer to select, it tells me I cannot modify this layer. I would assume this would pop up if it were a double click action for modification, but it does this after a single click.
It seems that there are some major glitches with the Layer Properties Manager.
I just upgraded to 2013 and have noticed that when using the dropdown layer control in the classic layer toolbar the mouse cursor changes from an arrow to the blue spinning circle to indicate its busy.
Why? and is there any way to fix this. You can still turn layers on and off and it reacts normally otherwise but it does make it harder to select the little lightbulb and freeze icons on the left.
Never happened in 2012 always happens in 2013.
Why does the layer control toolbar always state the Xref layers by default. Is there a workaround, or a setting so the layers of the current drawing are displayed by default?

I've got a Dell Vostro running windows 7. (new system) I've installed Civil 3D 2013. if I use a command that opens a dialog box with drop down boxes when opening the drop down box it will not populate until I move the cursor into the drop down area. Also radio boxes and check boxes do not show changes in selection until I move the location of the dialog box on screen causing it to refresh. I've contacted Autodesk, Dell, and NDIVIA (video card) no one seems to have any Ideas. It works fine in diagnostic mode.
View 8 Replies View Related i've to list all layers and objects in the drawing. I've got 2 checkedlistbox, one for layers, the second for objects.I've got 2 buttons, one up, one down, for swaping order. I've no problem with objects, but it seems a little more complicated with layers.I use this code to swap:
Using tr As Transaction = db.TransactionManager.StartTransaction Dim id1 As ObjectId = listLayerID(CB_List_Layer.SelectedIndex)Dim id2 As ObjectId = listLayerID(CB_List_Layer.SelectedIndex + 1) Dim first As DBObject = tr.GetObject(id1, OpenMode.ForWrite)Dim sec As DBObject = tr.GetObject(id2, OpenMode.ForWrite) first.UpgradeOpen()first.SwapIdWith(id2, True, True) tr.Commit() end using
id1 is the ID of the first layer, and id2 the id of the second layer. ListLayerId contains IDs of all layers. CB_List_Layer is my CheckedListbox. When is swap 2 layers, it don't swap objects in the layers. (ex : What i've got now :
Obj1, Obj2 in layer0 and Obj3, Obj4 in layer1 SWAP
Obj1,obj2 in layer1 and obj3,obj4 in Layer0.It's not what i want. I want :
Obj3,Obj4 in layer1 and Obj1,Obj2 in layer0)

View 0 Replies View RelatedMost annoying thing, the VP Freeze and New VP Freeze columns in the Layer Properties Manager keep resetting themselves to original position. I've done all the proflie stuff, re-save it after changing it, re-load it when I find the error, etc.. and still it reverses every time I restart AutoCAD.
What is it with the columns in dialog boxes? I've posted how the column widths in the File Dialog box reset everytime too. How they don't follow windows folder options. Is this some Windows issue or AutoCAD issue?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am needing to grade out from a featureline that is in cut to daylight in the fill direction (drainage flows away from the featureline). To do this I have created a grading critieria that has the Fill First Search Order parameter locked. I have verified that there is a fill solution if I use a 0.2% slope on the grading. Yet when I apply the grading it always uses the cut solution. It refuses to find a fill solution even if I apply 0.05% slope to the grading.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a surface and a pipe network. I am trying to print out a picture of these two objects rendered for the engineer to see. I have the surface as a rendered surface, but the pipe network is displaying under the surface (so it is invisible) and I was wondering if there was a way to have the pipe network display "thru" the surface so the engineer can see the pipe network with all the pipes drawn underneath the surface. Is this possible?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhat I want to do is to have an area label where the text background mask obscures linework but does not obscure the parcel fill (hatch). I think it looks bad when you have a light hatch where the background mask cuts a big hole in it.
Usually I would use draw order to do something like this. But since the fill and text are part of one object that won't work. I looked to see if there was any way to affect the order in the Parcel Style but didn't see any.
Having trouble with the display order command? It does not work when you right click or when you type in the command. It says command unkown.

The only way I've been able to do this is to delete all and then create in the correct order which is a bit of a PITA.

I've got a Profile View style set up just the way I want it. The only problem that I have is that the automated fill hatch that I'm using between my existing and finish profiles is showing up behind the grid lines. Unfortunately, we use "lines overwrite" as a standard, so I can't just switch to "lines merge". Any way or a setting that would allow me to move the draw order of the fill hatch above the grid lines?

View 5 Replies View RelatedBy default Adobe Photoshop creates new layers on top of the current layer. In the Western languages we read from top to bottom and left to right. So when I start creating a web site in Photoshop I start from top to bottom as well. However Photoshop creates the new layer above the current, which is the opposite of what I would like to do. I need Photoshop to create new layers below the current layer. I know by holding CTRL/COMMAND and clicking the NEW LAYER icon, will do what I need. However if I do CTRL+J to jump/duplicate the current layer, or select a layer and ALT+DRAG again to duplicate it, again it puts the new layers in top. Is there a way to reverse the default order Photoshop places layers? If not, I suggest that to Adobe implement an option in the general settings for Photoshop. Flash for example had similar option to read/place layers from top to bottom or bottom to top.
