I have 3 alignments running: EB, WB, and Center alignment. My corridor runs along the EB alignment. Is it possible for me to develop section views for this corridor along the Center alignment?
View 6 RepliesI've got a corridor where the section editor does not show a section that the corridor has created. My frequency is set to 25' with high/low points along curves. At station 22+75, in the model space the corridor shows a section being created (image #2). However, I cannot edit or even see that section in the section editor (image #1). The first screen shot shows the list of stations for the corridor in the editor while the second screenshot shows the model space at the problem station. This is in the middle of a region, so there shouldn't be any issues with other assemblies or regions.
In the section editor, Sta 22+74.91 is listed, skips 22+75, then lists 23+00. I am needing to manually adjust the cross slopes of my lanes. If I view the surface there is a weird dip because at station 22+75 the default slope of my lane is -2%. I cannot edit station 22+75, so I cannot adjust the cross slope of the lanes.
What is causing the section editor to not even recognize a section? How can I edit the cross slope at station 22+75 if the editor doesn't even display that section?

Because there is a PI in my alignment, the section lines in my corridor are overlapping creating problems with the surface. Is there anything that I can do in this situation?

When I open the Corridor Section Editor, the Ribbon changes to the Section Editor ribbon, but the section window doesn't come up. If I pan around, parts of the drawing disappear. If I close the editor and regen, everything comes back.
Below is the current status of our working view in the 2014 Corridor Section Editor. I can't see us getting any value for our investment into Civil 3D 2014, before Civil 3D 2015 comes out now.
The polar opposite is actually true, we had too much downtime encountering, analyzing and reporting product defects, and it affected profitability and capability.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhat could be the trick with corridor section editor in C3D 2014, applying overrides to a stations range won't work. After selecting or typing end station in the 'apply to a station range' prompt nothing happens, the overrides just will not be applied.
To apply overrides for an subassembly (curb depth etc) I must go through all the stations set by corridor frequency in the station range. This is not file specific, as it is the case with all my projects.
I've worked with LDD for 11 yrs. Last week the IT guys changed my PC to Windows 7 64bit, so I can't have LDD and I have to work with C3D. so I am following software tutorials.
for designing a road I created:
alignment ---> surface profile ---> layout profile (project line) ---> assembly ---> subassemblies ---> corridor ---> set target surface and frequencies
Corridor is created with daylights ,but I don't see existing ground in corridor section editor.
There is nothing about this in tutorial. Also I don't know how to calculate the volumes, in LDD after this stage we could calculate the volumes. i think in C3D I should do more for calculation.
I'm having a random issue with the daylight ties lopes not tieing to the EG surface at all stations in the Corridor Section Editor. Some stations daylight fine. In plan view the daylight lines vary left & right as expected but don't display at all in Section Editor.

The changes show correctly in the section editor and section view, however, when I plot the cross sections some of these added stations do not show the overrides. They are showing the original assembly group parameters. How do I get all the cross sections to reflect the edited data from the section editor?

I can view them in the corridor section editor. But I should also be able to add the corridor section to my section views, right?
To plot them, do I NEED to do this through Sheets Sets? I don't have experience with sheet sets yet.
I don't use Civil 3D often enough anymore. Still learning much about the new interface and pulling a design together.

In my section editor my labels show up correctly and in all the locations I want. But then, in my cross section file, I look in my section views and they are completely different. When I try to label more points under the Code Set Styles, they won't even show up on my section views.

The alignment seams to be created from the first point of the feature line to the last point and ignores all the other points. The vertical alignment created at the same time seams to be correct.

My alignment runs on the road center line and ends at the center of the cal-de-sac bubble. My corridor runs to the middle of the cal-de-sac. I need to shorten the corridor to end where the constant road width ends and the bulb of the cal-de-sac begins. I can shorten the Corridor on the alignment or do I need to create a new alignment to the desired length?

every time I changed the main road layout, I have to delete the Edge alignment and make a new one.
I have the centerline of a berm constructed using a 3D polyline. I want to use this centerline as the Alignment that I need from which to create a Corridor. When I try to create an Alignment from objects, I can only use a 2D polyline, not 3D. The berm has a slope to it and I need to have the assembly follow that slope as I create the Corridor. Do I need to create the Alignment in 2D and then edit the points for elevation?

in the alignment object there is no convert station to coordinate only coordinate to station. which is useless in this case.

For an intersection, I am trying to create an alignment and profile from the Lane (edge of traveled way) of my main road for the intersection lanes to tie to. I just did this yesterday on this same corridor without any issue, but today it doesn't create the alignment correctly. It doesn't actually follow the feature line that I select. The alignment is in orange and the green line is the lane line. Notice that the alignment isn't following the lane line.
What would cause this? It worked fine doing the exact same thing yesterday, but today it's not.

Using Civil 3D 2012 SP 1 on Win7 Pro 64-bit.
Is there any reason why a corridor model would not be respecting the manually entered super elevation values in the alignment? I have several stations that should be calculated with even super elevation values, but they aren't. For example, at station 0+080 on my alignment the left crown should be running at -3%, but it is actually being calculated at -2.47%. It isn't just one station; it's most of them. No overridden stations, vertical targets, etc in the corridor. Just a fairly straight-forward align (hor/vert) with super, simple assembly (two lanes, shoulder, daylight), simple corridor.
how label only the top of my road surface in section view? The road slopes -2% towards a ditch but my my code set labels both the top of road(-2%) and what I assume is the bottom of the road surface (2%) which I don't want to show.
Is it also possible to label my side slopes as 4:1 instead of 25%?
is it possible to get the alignment name which the corridor surface is built from when the surface is being data referenced. in other word no corridor as the middleman.
the way i see it is when corridor suface is referenced, it becomes a regular surface and loses some properties such as parent alignment.
i am still using COM. maybe .net can do it? either way works.

I created a base drawing for sections that references an alignment. I xrefed in the drawing where my corridor was created. When I create the section views, the corridor shows up perfectly.
I then created a blank sheet and xrefed in my section view base drawing.In this sheet drawing, only parts of the corridors are visible.I have a C&G on one assembly and a shoulder on another assembly that aren't visible. (see pics)The first pic is my section base drawing.
When creating a Corridor Section Points Report using the Toolspace>Toolbox>Reports Manager in Civil 3D 2012, the stations get listed but only a few contain point information (see attached).
I am trying to generate stake-out data for a proposed road. I was able to get this report to work successfully in one of the Civil 3D tutorials, so I assume that nothing is wrong with the utility. The problem may be related to my corridor.
I am doing public works type project. A simple road widening project. I created an alignment, surface, profile view and basic road assembly (from tool palettes) and corridor.
I created a corridor and referenced it to my "profile view", "alignment" and to "basic road" assembly. When I created section views, it shows only existing grade based on the surface and the basic road assembly is not showing on my sections. I can't figure out how to do it.
I have a single corridor "section" that extends from the 'tip' of my cul-de-sac back to the start of the alignment.I scoured the group before posting and didn't see anything quite the same.Would it have something to do with the corridor line being parallel to the alignment?
