I am in the process of coverting over to the STB plot style format and I have a problem which I cannot understand.
While in the drawing I want to convert I started with CONVERTCTB, the dilague box appears and I selected my current CTB plotstyle (the one I use to do my regular plots with) and upon accepting it another dialogue box appears asking me to name the new STB plotstyle. I did so and a message came up informing me the conversion was successful.
I then typed CONVERTPSTYLES and a message comes up followed by the dialogue box where I am to select an STB file. Here I selected the file I created in the CTB conversion in the previous step.
The conversion seemed to work correctly but when I go into the layer properties manager the plotstyles all have the same named style ie style 1, when I select one of these plotstyles to change it all except 3 styles are noted as missing.
I read that when I complete the conversion I should have plotstyles with old_pen_01 etc.
I have attached a snap shot of the resulting layer manager. The active plotstyle is the one that was converted during the CTB process ie the first step above.
I have a need to convert about 14000 .dwg files to jpg, gif or bitmap for display on the web. Are there any good automated ways of doing this. We have a database that contains the drawing names and directory locations I wish to use this for converting all of the drawings.

I want a software to convert PDF to DWG/DXF with relative amount of accuracy.
I updated my computer to windows 7 32 bit and need the file: AdskHwCertificationDatabase.xml - version 17.1.0.4 so that I can find out the correct driver for my OS and my quadrofx 1700 graphics card. Autodesk doesn't support 2008 Architecture and the on;y file I can find is buried in a torrent file with a pirated copy of 2008 and I DO NOT wish to download that.

Need recommendation for a pdf to dwg conversion software or cloud based service? I have alot of floor plans in pdf format that I would like to convert to dwg. I'd hate to have to draw them again.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIn my company, we are thinking about purchasing either Autocad or Autocad LT
Our customers are using Autocad to create DXF or DWG and we need to convert into GDS.
We are currently using LinkCad but the conversion success is limited.
If Autocad or AutoCad LT comes with a feature to convert DXF/ DWG into GDSII format ?
When i convert the pdf to dwg then all of the text got converted into the line. Any better way of conversion or else any command /lisp through which those lines again get converted into text?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to convert a few thousand files from dwg to pdf and I believe I'm on the right track but am a little stuck. I'm attempting to use DWG TrueView though I have limited access to AutoCAD for like template creation and such.
I seem to have trouble getting some of them to plot/publish and also it seems many of the layouts don't show the entire actual view (like I see 1/4 corner taking up the entire page) - scaling problems.
My procedure is to create model and sheet page setup files in AutoCAD to use the built in DWG to PDF printer and 8.5" x 11" landscape. So I open the acad.dwt template file, and save one for model and one for layout after setting the above settings.
I then open one of the drawings and run batch plot, then I set the list with all the layout only drawings (was going to do models later) and import the page setup file for drawings. I am getting an error saying the layout is not initialized -I was going to consider using AutoCAD and MultiBatch to initialize the layouts. If I attempt to plot now I currently do not see any PDFs created even though the logs say about 6 or so completed.

I do not get why new Archicad Architecture has 3d modeling when Revit architecture already provided for it. What is the different between those two? I really want to know the difference. It bothers me somewhat about them.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a client that required us to give them a surface that they could load into microstation. I have version c3d2010. I gave them a land xml file. When they uploaded it into their program, which I believe is inroads they said the contours it generation for the surface looks great in the middle, but the edges it seems to have dropped the elevations to zero.
I did make a boundary to go around the surface to clean up any errant triangulation lines. The polyline I used is at elevation zero. I don't know if this is causing that? The client thinks the inroads is forcing the edges to be elev zero. She has limited knowledge of land xml files and has never used them till now.
Something to change on her end or is it my polyline causing this?
When I try to plot a pdf of my drawing, the elements are distorted (circles larger, plines thicker, etc). How can I convert to a true pdf? I have AutoCAD 2012 student version.

I am trying to print on a 3d printer and seem to have a bit of a scaling issue with inventor 2012. I saved the .stl file in the same units but still get a scaling issue. Under options when I save it shows a 1:1 scale as well as the correct units.
When printing a .stl file from another computer that has inventor 10 installed we do not have this issue. Seems to be something with the files from 2012.
I use Terramodel 10.43 and Autocad Lt2008. I convert files to terramodel and back to autocad, everyday. My question is any conversion files for terramodel. e.g. the ACADimport.acf file, or ACADexport.acf.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIn our company we use several datums which come in multiple variants, e.g. Pulkovo, MInna and other West African ones. We frequently need to set up alternative datum shifts to comply with client requirements for exact positioning (Oil & Gas Industry). These are usually Molodensky or Bursa-Wolfe shifts.
I have done a fair amount of experimenting with the datum creation wizards, and within AutoCAD the shifts seem to work correctly, but I am puzzled that when one views the details of the Datum Transformation from the library, the transformation parameters are not shown as part of the WKT string. Also, presumeably consequently, when data from a drawing with a coordinate system based on this shift is exported to ESRI shapefile format, the transforamtion parametere are not shown in the .prj file.
I do not know whether I have missed a stage in the creation process, or if this this is a bug. It also seems odd that when viewing the details of a user-defined datum, there is no obvious clue as to what the transformation parameters are for that datum, other than finding a transformation with the same code name.
It's possible to do bach IDW to DWG conversion, but autodesk doesn't provide a tool to do the opposite:
Inventor's DWG to IDW
how to create a new datum conversion, but it has six parameters...It is a similarity transformation i want to put in a new configuration.
following data are:
centroid: x=453106; y=7076452
traslation in X=-179.2
traslation in Y=-386.302
scale in ppm= -832.154
ang in rad = 2.5*10^6
Is there Autodesk tool/support for conversion of HP GL2 files to DWG?
