I have a user in ACA 2009 whose cursor is literally sticking to everything in the drawing. When she moves over any linework, the cursor pauses momentarily. Is this a setting somewhere, or another issue all together?
View 9 RepliesI have a Trust Slimline graphics tablet (TB5300) and lately i've had the problem that when i open photoshop, the cursor sticks to the left-hand side of the screen.
So I move the pen about the page and the cursor moves only vertically along the leftmost edge of the screen.
This doesn't always happen, but i'd say it's the vast majority of the time lately. The tablet works fine when I close photoshop.
All I want to do is trace on top of an x-ref elevation. The x ref hides all my new lines so I cannot see what I've just drawn. Even the display order has no effect, not that I want to use the display order every time I draw a line. I just want my new black lines to show up on top of the faded xref image.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm working with Architecture 2011 and when I draw a 2D section, the defining line is missing for the structural members cut by the section. The hatching displays fine but the line around the material isn't there.
Under the material definitions I've got the 2d section / elevation linework turned on and under the elevation style I've got the defining line turned on and set to by material.
The defining line will come on if I turn on the inner and outer shrinkwrap but then it's color is defined either by layer or by color in which case it's all the same color and i have to manually edit the linework to change the color.
I have a drawing that has room spaces & tags attached to them. I can not figure out why there is an arc leading from the room tag to the space it is attached to. When I detach the room tag from the space, it disappears, but when I re-attach it, the arc from the tag to the space appears. How do you turn it off? I copied the space style from another file to over-write this one thru style manager, no luck...

So, I extract elevations from my model. No prob. Works perfectly. I then often edit linework to change some linework colors...works fine. However, What if I want to change/edit a Hatch? When I click on 'Edit Linework', the hatch automatically turns off to allow me to edit the linework... Can one edit the Hatching?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a sluggish jerky cursor (and it’s not the operator) when you are NOT in a command and while you are creating your selection set in the command. The cursor jumps and reappears @ ~1 sec intervals so you have to anticipate your mouse move to do anything. OH...and it's only happens in model space.
I tried several settings I found on the internet but nothing works. It's only doing it in 3 drawings right now. The latest one was working fine until ~10:00 this morning, then it started in...no issues before this.
It really makes AutoCAD 2011 basically unusable as it takes 5X longer to complete each command!

My accelerator keys for the right-click object-snap cursor menu do not work. For example, I will be drawing a line and I will bring up the object-snap menu, then I will select ‘E’ for endpoint snap, the ‘e’ will display in the dynamic input window and the snap does not work.
Backburner doesn't seem to work properly for me in the release version. I cannot export file sequences as backburner sticks on waiting. I can however export Quicktimes fine.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSome of my linework is not plotting. This only happens on one of my .dwg files (that I can tell), and only on certain layers. Recently drawn linework only on a few layers simply does not show up on preview or on hard copy, regardless of which printer I print to or which configuration I use. It's not a computer issue because the same issue happens if I open the file on a different computer. All layers are thawed, on and set to print.
However, if I Xref the file into a new drawing, then the linework prints. Here is a copy of the error message I receive.

I'm having an issue whenever I link an AutoCAD dwg. I model everything in Max but use AutoCAD line-work as a guide. As of Max 2013, when I do this, I notice that every line linked is divided into six segments. I tried re-loading the linked file setting curve steps to "0" but still no change.
The linking goes well, no problems at all neither at first nor at re-loading time, but it is quite annoying to have all these extra vertices when I'm modelling over the CAD lines.
I could download a .shp file that contains the section linework for indiana in state plane Coordinates? I am not looking for perfect coordinates, just graphically pleasing. I would like to start a database of the section corners we have recovered and I think it would be neat to have the whole state.

I currently use Leica Viva Smartworks for surveying and it captures the linework codes in its own field, so when I export my CSV file my Descrition comes on with the feature code but the linework code is another field. Is their a way that using the Format field in the description Key that I can get the Full description field to read something like "V-DOMW-PIPE B", which would pull the feature code from the raw descrition field and the begin line code from the Linework field.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am currently using a FBK to run my auto-linework. I am having a problem generating curves, closing lines, etc... Everything works fine unitl I hit a curve or try to close a line. I have tried many different point code variations and the only one that worked on curves was a "BC1 BC, BC1 EC". Problem is I need multiple points on a curve to pick up laydowns, PVI's, etc... I tried the "OC", no "OC".......just about every variation I could think of to no avail. Is there an alternative to a FBK that works better?

The problem is when I import the drawing into another software (Trimble Business Center), the lines are still 3D face and am not able to treat it like linework. Is there a way to convert a 3D face into line or polyline in C3D?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to print to my local windows printer (monochrome laser) and to a pdf file but cannot seem to get all of my lines black. Different colors, by layers, produce a greyscale arrangement of linework. I have tried changing the plotstyles to the various available plotstyles: Monochrome.stb, Monochrome.ctb and Autodesk-MONO.stb, but have not had any success. All are printing the same.
Ideally I would like to set most linework to black and be able to have shaded areas and some linework in a grey tone when needed.
What's the best workflow to extract the linework from a corridor - I need the linework as 3D polys for export to another modelling system?I have tried the extract feature line from corridor but it is incredibly tedious so I have lately done the following
1 Rebuild Corridors and Save file.
2 Select Corridor, Isolate and Explode twice.
3 Select all the lines and JOIN which then creates 3D polylines.
4 Wblock the 3D polylines.
5. DO NOT RESAVE...!!!
Is there a better way?

Any way to generate liework with point numbers. I have survey data of a pipeline and all the points are in order, if there was just a way for linework to connect them by increasing point number in my drawing?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe are using the linework coding to process our figures and the survey .txt file provided to me uses codes to begin lines with "+" & "-". For example, driveways are coded + DR1 for begin and - DR1 to end the line. The linework process works fine, its when I go to display the point in the description keys that are causing me problems. All the points that are in between the begin and end points display to the appropriate style because they are coded as DR*. The begin and end do not display correctly as the + & - isn't being recognized in the description key. I tried many alternate ways such as *DR*, + DR*, - DR*, with nothing working.
Is there a different format I need to be using? There are way to many points to go thru to move the + & - behind the code.
I am wanting to either render of hatch some linework. I'm wanting to make the ring red around the outside and grey on the inside ideally.
When I try this though,it keeps prompting me that the object isn't one the same plane, or something along those lines.
I've attached the drawing file I am talking about, and its 2013 format.
We are now working in civil 3D 2011, and have started using the .txt files now instead of the fieldbooks of the past. I have created a Description key set, along with a figure prefix database and a linework code set. everything works fine as long as the field crews use EP1, EP,2 EP3, ETC.. But we would really like to utilize the Begin and End function of this. I have unchecked the box that says Automatic begin on figure prefix match, but still no luck. I have also checked the linework code set and it all looks good <Space> delimiter etc..
View 9 Replies View RelatedUsing 2013 C3D. My text and linework is now gray. During opening/initializing of drawing, everything appear fine until it finishes loading, then everything is gray. It just started yesterday when I was bringing in shp files of wetlands in various ways (dragging/dropping, fdo conect and mapimport). Maybe the shp file had nothing to do with it, but I've never seen cad do this.
When I grip the line, the color in layer comes up as correct color, but the line on screen is gray. Also if I copy the multileader or line, the color reverts back to correct color until I save, exit and reopen. BTW - the only thing that isn't gray is my civil 3d pipes and structures.
why everything is turning gray??
I have created a MANHOLE UDP which defines inverts in & out etc as well pipe types and sizes. Is there a way to automatically generate a polyline or feature line which picks up the invertout to invert in of the next manhole by point number? hope that makes sense! I am using Civil3D 2012.

View 1 Replies View RelatedTo simply put it, I am grabbing linework from a dwg and copying it from base point 0,0,0. in the drawing that I want to copy it into, I hit ctrl+v and type 0,0,0 to put it exactly where it needs to be.
For some reason, that I cannot figure out, the 0,0,0 point in the two drawings are different...so I have to zoom extents and hunt for it 10,000feet away in model space. But that is not the main problem because I can always find it and move it where it needs to be.
The main problem is that when I move the copied linework over the previous linework that needs updated, it has been rotated like 3 - 4 degrees. That, or my base file's linework has been rotated 3 - 4 degrees - which doesn;t make sense because my base files linework is made up of xref's!
All drawings are set to UCS World.
Is there a way to make the 0,0,0 points the same location in both my base file and all the xrefs? My base file is not completely vertical when the xref dwg is...is there a setting that my base file has for xref's that is rotating them 3 - 4 degrees?
PDF linework some is missing in PDF yet shows in autocad plot... I beleive xref has something to do with it but cant seem to get it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to consolidate a lot of the linework onto a couple of layers that I will be importing into SketchUp. So what I did was created a new layer (Base), turned on all of the layers with the linework that I wanted to move onto that layer, highlighted the linework, right-clicked and opened "Properties," and changed the layer option to Base.
Now, when I check the properties on the linework, it says that it is all on the Base layer. However, when I turn on or off or export the Base layer, it doesn't affect all of the linework, but when I manipulate the layers that the linework was originally on, it does.
In other words, if you look at the objects' Properties, it says they are all on the layer I want them to be on. However, when I try to work with that layer, it does not affect the linework that I want to be in that layer.
My cursor appears and disappears while in GIMP as I move the cursor over the canvas. I can make the cursor appear but only if there is no movement of the cursor. It makes no difference which tool I select, the size of the canvas, or the level of zoom.
Please note that this only occurs in Gimp, and none of my other applications. It started when I upgraded from openSUSE 12.1 to 12.2. I'm assuming that it has something to do with my input device configuration, but I could be totally wrong.
I have a total of 3 input devices - Core Pointer, Logitech USB-PS/2 Optical Mouse, and Virtual Core XTEST Pointer. Both the Optical Mouse and XTEST Pointer are DISABLED. Core Pointer is the only one enabled. Enabling Optical Mouse and XTEST Pointer give me other problems in Gimp and need to remain disabled.
For the Core Pointer, Mode is set to SCREEN, a message says that 'The axis X has no curve', and the following Axis Settings:
