AutoCAD Architecture :: 3D Muntin Display Differs From 2D Generated Elevation
May 10, 2012In generating 2D elevations from ADT objects I noticed the muntins didn't match. See attached image for example.

AutoCAD Architecture :: Create Property Definition That Will Display The Elevation Of Space Object
Dec 18, 2012I am trying to create a property definition that will display the elevation of a space object. I looked through the automatic properties and did not find anything that looked like the elevation.
I have tried the following but was unable to achieve any success.

That formula does work if i swap elevation with say height, width,length or any of the properties found in the automatic property list that are a single word. I know the elevation is there I just don't know how to access it.
Photoshop :: CS5 Image Display Differs From Used ICC Profile In Win 7?
Jun 14, 2012on my Windows 7 Ultimate x64 machine, I just calibrated my Dell SP2309W monitor using an i1DisplayPro and basICColor 5, creating a ICC v2 profile (I am aware of the problems under Windows with ICC v4 profiles).
It created the ICC profile and applied it to be used by Windows. I double checked under COLOR MANAGEMENT that the new ICC profile is being used. Although I can see that the new ICC is being used (desktop appearance changes), there are a few issues I am experiencing:
(1.) Windows Photo Viewer
The thumbnails in Windpows Explorer look fine (they DO use the new ICC profile), when I double click a jpeg and open the image it DOES NOT use the new ICC profile. When I click the PLAY SLIDESHOW button (starting the slideshow) in the opened image in Windows Photo Viewer, the images DO use the new ICC profile.
(2.) Internet Browsers
All current internet browser (Firefox, IE, Safari and Chrome) DO use the new ICC profile and display the image correctly.
(3.) Photoshop CS 5
When I open the same image - that Windows Photo Viewer does not correctly displays (according to the new ICC profile) - in Photoshop CS5, I get the same image display that Windows Photo Viewer gives me (when not thumbnail or not in slideshow mode) - it appears to be the sRGB display.
My color settings in PS CS5 are: North America General Purpose 2 > sRGB IEC 61966-2.1.When I go to View > Proof Setup > Monitor RGB I get the image display using the new ICC profile.Why does the image look different in PS than my calibrated monitor should output ?
I was under the impression that the sole purpose for calibrating my monitor was to get a uniform display across (ICC aware) applications. Even when one applies different color spaces to a document in PS, I thought the output on my calibrated screen done by the graphic card should always be according to my calibration and the settings in the ICC profile being used.

May 13, 2013I don't know if I am doing something wrong but I made exterior elevations in views for a building and the interior partitions are also displayed. An exterior elevation should only display exterior walls.

Oct 10, 2012I'm trying to determine if it's possible to take a 09 LDD Companion drawing in which the elevations for many points have been moved AND/OR rotated (to align with roadway), and not only convert these to C3D, but also have them transferred along with the move/rotate information. We're talking about a mile long stretch of roadway and the project is 6 years old (i.e. no C3D when it was originally done).
The problem is that there are a ton of ground shots that need only be shown to 0.1 precision but are shown to 0.01 precision. LDD was not able to assign an elevation precision to groups of points, only all cogo points together, which meant we had to explode certain groups of "soft shot" points once they had been inserted at the desired precision.
If there's no way to do what I'm asking, it's no big deal for this case since the higher precision can be easily rounded to the lower by the viewer (better than the other way around). But as I am the only one on C3D and have been for the past 2 and a half years, we will likely face this monster again several times over with other drafters' projects and I'd like to have a best practice in place if we need to go the other way (extracting 0.01 precision from 0.1 precision).

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Custom Color Scheme For Surface Elevation Display
Sep 19, 2012I want to color cut/fill using red/greens schemes.
I want to use "interval with datum" method, and 2' intervals.
That gives like 20 rows for cut and fill, and so c3d applies one red to 5 rows, then next red to another 5, and so on.
I could pick colors by hand, but that dumb dialog is so slow, and its not easy to visually pick a nice gradation.
Is there no way to say "step from this color to that"?
Even when I do get all set up, I am finding performance of displaying the 2d solids takes forever.
I obviously have a large surface, but that is why we pay for good software right?
I am on c3d 2012 on a fast 64 bit win 7 machine. [URL]

So I've got a Construct that is the building model. I also have a View file for my 2D extracted elevations. I've just 'Refreshed' one of the elvations based on some updates I did to the construct model. But when the 2D elevation refreshed, it's surface hatching (roof tiles) scaled itself down considerably. What controls this? I need to have that hatching scale back up and don't know how.

I have been able to create center lines by placing a 3d grid and then changing from No Plot and it creates center lines on the elevation. But all jobs do not require a 3d grid so I would like the axis line form the member to show in the 2d elevation.

Actually, I know that it is the initial insertion point of the roof baseline, but why doesn't it update with grip edited changes in the elevation of the baseline? See the attached file. The three x-lines converge on 0,0,0. The roof elevation is stated as 0. Obviously that property is meaningless. Considering the importance of roof elevations and making them meaningful, you'd think there would be some rhyme or reason to that property.

Dec 5, 2013As I continue my learning of AutoCad on the PC after having been a Mac CAD (non-AutoCad) user for 15+ years, another question has cropped up. My boss wants the circular "heads" of the elevation and sectional callouts to be smaller on the finished drawings. How can I control (or override) the default size of these? Or do I need to override on a case by case basis? I've searched these and other forums and what I am getting a sense of is that AutoCad controls those sizes pretty tightly so they remain annotative and AutoCad sets them at the size it thinks they should be and changing that size is not a simple process.

I have the elevations created. When I go back into the construct and edit the wall style do I have to re-create the elevations to see the hatch? Or I think I just have something set incorrectly in the style.

Once the elevation tag has been placed it displays normally. Basically, you are operating somewhat blind until the item is placed. Then you can see it in order to modify the orientation and such.

Jun 14, 2012I am currently running Revit Architecture 2011. I have interior elevations in my project, which include doors. The door swing lines show up solid in elevation. In fact there actually appear to be two of them. I want the elevation swing indication to be a center line style.
I have changed the swing elevation line type in object types to center (which is what I want).
I go to the elevations and there is no change in the swing indication line except that there still appear to be two lines (one on top of the other) where now one is center linetype and the other is solid. Seems like progress except that there is no actual visual difference.
There is only one symbolic line in the family. If I un-check the draw in foreground box the elevation line disapears entirely when reloaded into the project.
This is an OTB door. I can place it in a completely new template and it displays fine. So it I am thinking it is NOT the family. There must be some setting in the actual file itself controlling this and I am stumped.

Oct 23, 2013Any way using autoCAD LT 2014 to get CAD to display the elevation heights of survey points without having to type the heights in text bozes next to each individual point. i can insert a field which displays the elevation of the point but doing this again i would have to do every point individually.
Another words is there a way to select all the survey points required and get CAD to display a certain property, which in my case is the elevation height of that survey point, next to it? so it looks like x 23.35 x 23.57 etc..
