Apr 2, 2013i put my lisp files path in the trusted locations and my lisps wont load.
they only load if i have the location listed in the support file search path.

AutoCAD 2013 :: Sharing 2013 Work Between Locations
May 29, 2013What is the use of "regular" AutoCAD 2013 as compared to 2013 Mechanical. The question is; our office is divided between Designers that use the regular AutoCAD edition and our Engineers that would like to use Mechanical (rather than the regular CAD). Are there any conflicts resulting from sharing drawings between the two editions on AutoCAD (regular & Mechanical)?
If so, what would be the optimal method for these two departments to collaborate?
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Survey Database Not Working On Network Locations?
Sep 6, 2012I have been using survey database with the working folder set to the project location on our Z:. It was working fine until I come into work this morning and I can no longer open survey databases on the server. I can set the working folder and I can create new databases on the server but I cannot access them. Moving the working folder to a local drive fixes everything.

Oct 19, 2012How do I set up the templates in 2013? we just migrated from 2012 and now some of the templates are not showing up. When we installed the vault we created a drive that the vault resides in. The templates also reside on this drive but outside of the vault. in 2012 when I selected the icon to create a new part/assy/drawing I would get the following drop down menu:
now in 2013 we have a new and imporved splash screen with more options, I think:
However as you can see, there is nothing to choose. If I use the drop down arrow this work, but not much as I have the 4 standard part, assy, drawing and project icons appear. We have used the options menu and changed the file search paths to point to our template folder but we still do not have any options in the new menu and the drop still does not show options for sheetmetal or square parts. The drawing does open with the correct template though. I have also opened each template in 2013 and saved it so it should be migrated to the new format. but that has not worked. How to set up the new splash menu to work?

Jul 19, 2012I add 3 folder locations to the Support File Search Path. At random, all 3 of these locations disappear. I haven't tracked when this happens and what maybe happened previously, but I know I'm not the only one within my office that this has happened to. The paths are on a file server for our blocks.
Not sure how relevant this is, but I have a HP Z420 Workstation, W7-64-bit, Autodesk Building Design Suite Ultimate, using AutoCAD MEP 2013.
AutoCad 2D :: Difference Between Tool Palettes File Locations And Authoring Palette File Locations?
May 30, 2013I am new to using Tool Palettes. I have created a folder on my C: drive which contains all my tool palettes. Right now, I get the symbol of a circle with a line drawn through it and cannot use my tool palettes.
In the Options tab, I noticed that there are the "Tool Palettes File Locations" and also "Authoring Palette File Locations". What is the difference between the two? Do I need to do something to both so I can use my tool palettes without difficulty?
AutoCAD Visual LISP / AutoLISP :: Setting Trusted Paths
Oct 15, 2013I can use for startups on new work stations. It will set all our custom search, toolpalette, and plotter paths and I have it working pretty well. My last hurdle is to add a trusted path to the environment to avoid users having to ok the startup lisp.
Here is a piece of the *file* is set further up in the code. It works line by line but evidently "vla-put-trustedpaths" is not legit. How can I get the additional trusted path written in to the environment?

AutoCAD 2013 :: Drawing Order - Send To Back / Not Working Anymore In 2013
Apr 17, 2013I have this heavy issue, i can't send to back a line, an object or a hatch under other lines. In 2012 i used this feature a lot but in 2013 it's not working very much, maybe 1 time out of 10 and i absolutely can't say why.
HPDRAWORDER = 1 seems to work with a new hatch.. but i can't redraw everything.
Let's say i put an entire floor plan into block then draw over it. (I don't want to start a Xref discussion please) i can't send the entire bloc to the back.I used to do that with 2012, 2008, 2007.. but it's 2013 it's not working, is there a way to correct that?

Jun 29, 2012Everytime I try this command (3DCONFIG) it says " A newer version of the graphics card and driver database that is used for performance tuning is now available. Update now?" I click yes and get "Performance Tuner failed to update. Please check your network connection and make sure you have write permission to the file"
I made sure the file is not set to "Read-only" but it still doesn't work.
AutoCAD 2013 :: Viewbase Is Not Working
Jan 26, 2013I recently installed AutoCAD 2013 and was excited to try viewbase to create 2D drawings from complex 3D geometry. The problem is that despite selecting "from model space" the program launches the dialog box looking for an Inventor file, and there doesn't seem to be a way to simply work from the file's model space? I even made a new file from scratch with a simple 3D shape and ran into the same problem.

May 17, 2011I just upgraded from ACAD 2007 3d to 2012 3d. The rest of my organization is using a "mix" of older versions, so we still save to the 2004 format. Text objects "moving" to different locations or disappearing on opening files in newer versions of ACAD? I've had two instances so far. In one case, a 2012 LT user added a leader/text and the 2000 LT user could see it. The text was clearly there in the 2012 users file. In the other case, I opened a file I worked on in 2007 and text objects seem to be moved about randomly when looking at it in 2012. Everything still looks good with the file opened in the 2007 though.

I want to save a copy on my C: drive - this part has been done, but I'd like the code expanded to save a copy on the F: drive (under a similar path to that on the C: drive.
For example, for drawing XXX-XXX.dwg (C:Vault WorkspaceCADSalesEnquiries201313-XXXDrawings), I would like a PDF created in C:Vault WorkspaceCADSalesEnquiries201313-XXXDrawingsPDF (this part has been done) and i would also like a copy saved in F:SalesEnquiries201313-XXXDrawingsPDF.
I do not know which will be easier; to create 2 PDFs, or create 1 and copy it to F:
AutoCAD 2010 :: How To Display Network Locations
May 10, 2012I want to display the network server name automatically (preferably using a diesel expression).
I currently use diesel expressions to show the saved path and drawing name, but since we have a multitude of servers I'd like to show the server name as well. At the minute it just shows the network map name, i.e. N:, but I'd like to prefix that with the actual serve name, i.e. SERV-FILE-1 (or something like that).
AutoCad :: Importing GPS Locations From MapSource To 2012
Aug 9, 2012I'm attempting to import a .dxf file, with Waypoints, Waypoint Attributes, Tracks, Track Attributes, etc., from Garmin MapSource into AutoCAD 2012. I'm able to open the .dxf file in AutoCAD 2012 and visualize all of the points and attributes; however, when I attempt to select any item on the attribute layers, a Fatal Error Message is generated, reading: "FATAL ERROR: Unhandled e0434352h Exception at fd7ecacdh". The program issues this error and then automatically aborts after selecting "OK".
To be clear,I'm able to select the actual waypoints but never the attributes, which contain information relevant to the elevation of each point.

Aug 19, 2013I have a polyline that meets itself back at the beginning. It should be closed and appears to be. I joined several lines to get the polyline. When I try to offset it I can only offset towards the inside and not the outside. Is there a reason for this or am I doing something wrong?

AutoCAD 2013 :: Working Of Shift Overrides
Jul 16, 2013I am have an issue with the shift overrides not working when there is an image under where i am working.
In the same drawing for example i can use shift to either select more than one point in a polyline, or to change between trim and extend or to fillet with a radius or to a point.
but when i try to do this with an image in the background it doesn't work. I need the image as i am tracing shapes.
AutoCAD LT :: 2013 Plot Styles Not Working
Oct 3, 2012The first picture shows an old drawing using Autocad LT 2005 plotstyles named "cannon.ctb"*notice the weight of the dimension lines
The second picture is my new drawing using those same plot styles in our new Autocad LT 2013. Almost nothing is visible and it will not copy it is so light. The third picture is my new drawing and clicking on the box that says "Plot with Plot Styles" AND "Plot object lineweights". Note: I do not have my drawings set up with object lineweights.
I have tried completely redoing my plot styles, but that does not work. I am at a complete loss as to how to get my plot styles to register in this Autocad version 2013.
We have just upgraded our computers and now have windows 7, along with upgrading Autocad LT 2005 to Autocad LT 2013, and I have just installed a new Cannon plotter. However, I was having the same issue prior to the new plotter and I was hoping the plotter was the problem, which it seems to not be.

AutoCAD 2013 :: Keyboard Shortcut Not Working?
Apr 25, 2013I want to set up a keyboard shortcut for quickselect. I opened the CUI right clicked to create new temporary shortcut, put the command into the line and selected shift and Q. There some gobbledy **** message about it being also assigned to another command but that it will prioritise the one at the bottom of the tree, and my new shortcut IS at the bottom of the tree so far as I understand the phrase.
Bur when I try to use it, the shift key is not recognised. I press shift and q but all that comes up in the command line is q.
