Jul 16, 2013I'm having a problem with 2014 version. Property palette doesn't show the property of any object. It shows blank and same thing with quick select as well.

Ive looked around the forums and cant seem to find a solution. I was running AutoCad on Windows 8 just fine before...
I run fbxexport from the file pulldown, and it does not ask me to select objects, and says none of the objects in the drawing can be exported.
I type the command and it works fine. This was mentioned in past posts on 2012.
I am thinking it has something to do the the bug where 2014 could not export shape files, so you had to get a new providers.xml.
My IMX-Export command is also acting funny where it does not ask a filename to export, it uses the current dwg name.

as the subject states, at some point (I believe after uninstalling autodesk 360), our properties tool pallete will not populate info for the selected object. is there a fix other than re-installing from scratch? The installation fixer didn't work, and I've had to re-install twice now for other issues with the software, so it's getting very costly/time consuming to just re-install for these problems.
View 9 Replies View RelatedSince AutoCAD 2013, I'm not able to use tracking when inserting block from tool palette. Example, I want to insert a door at 6 inches from a wall. I click the door from the tool palette, leave a tracking point at the wall corner, move the cursor in the right direction and type 6 follow by enter. The door is insert randomly in the drawing. It was working perfectly in previous release.
Actually I had to insert the door anywhere in the drawing and moving it at the right place and rotate it if required, it is very tedious.
For some reason, the tool palette I usually use is not accessible. I opened a drawing that a co-worker was using and my tool palette now looks like an old version - it doesn't have any of my custom tools in it. How do I get back my tool palette??
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have just installed AutoCAD 2014 with our company update and I am having problems using our tool palettes.
When I click the buttons on the palette to load our blocks I get the message below:cad2014 tool palette error.png
I've checked the directorys of the tool palettes and they are routing to the correct location.
I just upgraded to ACAD Mech 2014 from 2011. When I import my palettes and try to use them, the program crashes every time (fatal error and send report to Autodesk).Think I'll have to rebuild the palettes in 2014 for them to work?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn the atatched file, I am trying to qselect all objects with color 10(red).
Details are as follows: Applyto: Entire drawing, Object type: Multiple, Properties: Color, Operator: Equals, Value:Color10 and Include in new selection set.
It doesn't select anything (0 items selected). What is wrong with procedure?
I used the command qselect to select all mtext in model space. I then went to the properties menue and changed all mtext to 1" height.
I've got five pages, each with a different viewport. Each viewport is the same scale as the previous one however the text size is not.
Mtext was created under the same style.
How to a add a new property for a 3d object created in Autocad ?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been migrating dozens and dozens of .pat files from one version of AutoCAD to the next for many, many versions. Most recently in AutoCAD 2013 the .pat files were stored in the C:Program FilesAutodeskAutoCAD 2013SupportPatterns - worked fine. During the migration to 2014 I received an install error report stating that this subdirectory did not exist and could not be created. Alternately it stated that the new default path C:UsersUsernameAppDataRoamiongAutodesk|AutoCAD 2014R19.1enuSupport will be used instead.
At first I created the Patterns subdirectory where it could not be done automatically. No luck. Then I placed the Patterns subdirectory in C:UsersUsernameAppDataRoamiongAutodesk|AutoCAD 2014R19.1enuSupportPatterns and no luck.
Associative property of the dimension,I’m wondering if there is a way to “reassociate” the dimension without moving it.
For example, in the attached screenshots, the dimension is moved downward and then it aimed to re associate it with the object it measures. After the association the dimension is moved toward the object. What I wanted is to re associate the dimension to the object BUT to keep it at its current location.
Happens every year. Upgrade and spend half a day or more trying to get everything back to the way I had it. All I have is a couple small toolbars for commands that are several clicks deep in the ribbons and I want them "right there" all the time.
I thought Autodesk 360 might be a good tool for this. All it did was DOWNLOAD some old settings and destroy one of the toolbars I'd created. They really need an override in there to specify upload, download, overwrite or don't.
I'm trying to migrate (I guess that's the technical term) my settings from 2013 Mechanical to 2014 Mechanical. It's probably too late already, after 360 did its deal, but I really want to get this down so we don't go through it every year anymore.
I maintain that PTC had this part of it down Pro/ENGINEER. You had a config file that was editable plain text.

This code creates custom iProperties if the iProperty isn't found. I'd like to add another iProperty called "Resaw" with a Yes/No property type. Is there a way of doing this the way I have things started here?
Is there a way to control which of two 'Graphic Property definitions' are used via a formula property with a IF, Then, condition statement?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm tasked with setting up a new dwt file to be used along with the Sheet Set Manager.
I've got as far as adding in my own custom properties at both the Sheet Set level (things like project name, site name, etc.), and at the Sheet level (drawing title).
But more specifically, at the Sheet Level, I want to be able to facilitate having a multi-line drawing title. Things start to get a little cloudy.
In order to be able to control where the line breaks are, I've simply created 5 fields (3 for an odd number of lines, 2 for even), and I want to set their Default Value so they don't display anything, i.e. a space or blank of some kind, instead of the four dots. So when I want to add the title I go to the Sheet properties and change the value.
I thought it'd be as simple as adding the ASCII code for a space (U+00A0) into the Default Value, but that seems to display the text U+00A0 instead of the space.
It's not just the layer that isn't being displayed in the Properties Palette. My 2014 Properties Palette isn't contextual--displays only the general info--none of the object specific information.

I recently migrated to the Inventor 2014 release and immediately encountered several issues.
One that I haven't found reported on this site is the problem related with the 3D mouse (3D connexion Space Navigator). I've been working with it beautifully with R2012-2013 but now that I started working on Inventor 2014 it stalls and stops working suddenly. It's so bad that I stopped using the 3D mouse entirely.

I uninstalled and re-installed the latest mouse drivers and checked that it's not the device malfunctioning. I also installed the Inventor update available on Autodesk site. No change...
I am trying to migrate our 2012 vb.net code to 2014 vb. I have run into an issue with PointEntity. See below
Dim opt1 As Autodesk.AECC.Interop.Land.AeccPoint
Dim ptObjId AsObjectId = PointEntity.FromAcadObject(opt1)
i need to get the objectID from the AeccPoint. But the PointEntity is not working in 2014. i cannot find the right reference for it.
Interesting find this morning. In C3D 2014, the MAPEXPORT asks to save the file name, give the file a name, and then nothing happens. I have done a repair and to no avail, nothing. The dialog box does not appear, and no file is created.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently installed Inventor 2014. With Inventor 2013, I was able to do a Save Copy As on an IDW file to save it as either a DXF file or AutoCAD DWG file without any issues. In Inventor 2014, doing this produces the following dialog boxes in succession:
No DXF or DWG is produced. I tried doing this to a new, blank drawing from one of the default IDW templates and I get the same result. What can I do to fix this?
We use mandatory roaming profiles for our students and have done for some 14 years with all previous versions of our Autodesk products.
Now Inventor 2014 Pro (running on Windows 7 SP1 x64) will not open with a mandatory profile applied all I get is the new "Send AutoDesk your error box" Remove the mandatory profile and let the user create a local profile from the same default profile used to create the mandatory profile, Inventor works. The only clue I get to what might be happening is in the infocenter.log (within the Appdata section of the profile) where it states that the inventor.xml is not found. Without the mandatory applied the log is clear and the inventor.xml exists in the same folder.
I automatically updated last week for my 2014LT and since then the LAYERS hasn't worked properly. Layer Manger still seems to work correctly, but the Layers tab on the Home ribbon does not. I am running Windows 7 Ultra, Quad Core i7 with 16 MB of Ram, and had been running without errors until this last update.
When/if I select the "Freeze Layer" tab from the top ribbon, and then select the layer on the drawing it turns it off as it should, but if I then use the pull down to locate the layer and turn it back on, nothing happens. It does not appear again; it may not even show up now (see below). I found that if I go to LAYER MANAGER and turn on the layer it still doesn't turn on unless I turn it off and then back on; which will bring it back unfrozen. Also, some layers when frozen do not then show up on my pull-down list or LAYER MANAGER list unless I save the drawing and restart 2014LT. The layer then shows up on the Layer Manger and ribbon.?
Just love updates when everything was already working properly, and then they don't after the "Update"!
When I try to start a new Assembly or Drawing in Autodesk Inventor Professional 2014 - Student Version, this error shows up:
I tried to copy the file "AmSrv.dll" from another computer and the error is still showing up.
We have a persistant blue screen. Stop Error 0x124 and 0x122.
PC spec:
Core i7 3.4Ghz
16GB RAM
GeForce 560Ti GTX
Intel DX79SI main board
Ever since we installed CAD LT 2014 we have persistant BsoDs on two PC's.
I have tried the GFX Hotfix. Seem to work for 2 weeks and now again a stop error 0x122.
The PC drivers are up to date, latest BIOS, all possible updates that are availible are install, even tried to disable the InfoCentre.
We did do clean Installs, swopped hardware. It keeps happening on 2 of the 8 PC's we have.
Would watching movies in the background have an effect? I am at the end of my diagnosis.
There are no hardware failure when running benchmarks or burn in tools. Only in CAD
When I paste an item in the assembly, the item is thrown off in space. It places it so far away that it is not even in the view window. I have to stop what I doing, do a find in window and then drag it close to where I need it. Then I can start constraining it.
Why does it not place the item at my coursor location like it used to?
I am using SP1.
