AutoCAD 2010 :: Custom Sheet Set Properties
Sep 6, 2012It took me a long time & effort to add all 190 custom sheet set properties (Our Frame/template is complex). When i found out that I could not re-order the sheet set custom properties I was really pleased.
My problem;
I'm trying to add a FIELD with some of the sheet set custom properties. Why are the field not seing ANY of the 190 properties I added to my sheet set? see picture
I really love all of thoses fancy new feature Autodesk add year after year, I mean, you know, NURBS modeling & stuff... Trully great work Autodesk!
AutoCad :: Sheet Set Manager And Custom Properties
Nov 7, 2013I have a SSM set up with both Sheet Custom Properties and Sheet Set Custom Properties.
When I start a new project, i can populate both areas of the main SSM. I'll create my sheets and have them self populated by the "root" SSM settings (if you will)well now, lets say i need to change the date of the sheets from the past.. to the future submittal date. I set it in the "Sheet Custom Properties" in the "root" SSM and then I have to go to each sheet; right click --> Properties each sheet and change the custom properties.
Basically, is there a way to have the sheets (after created) to automatically update to the new date?

Dec 2, 2013I have a set of drawings with a large number of sheets. I need to do a mass edit of the properties for each sheet (for example update the revision number, date, checked/design/approved/drafting initials, description). The updated properties are largely similiar.
Is it necessary to update each sheet's custom properties individually, or is there an easier method?

May 15, 2012Now that I have all my custom properties set up I can't seem to update the custom ones that I made. The custom properties I have added do not seem to work when I update them the through the Sheet Set Manger properties.

Oct 29, 2012I'm trying to set up a title block template that will be used between several different sheet sets. I have entered the custom properties, then when I go to the title block and try to insert the fields with current sheet set custom the drop down box is empty and then when I try to type in the custom property name the link still does not function. Is there some trick that I'm missing, or is this function broken on AutoCad 2013?

Aug 13, 2013Is there any (non programming) solution where I can add custom data/properties to objects in plain AutoCAD?
(I know I can in Civil 3D though, using Notes/Extended Properties etc etc)
We want to allow users to add their own unique ID to all their drawn objects, and we don't want to use Entity Handle as that is not anything we can choose ;-)
We're using that ID to connect other datasources (ODBC) to Navisworks and we would like it to work even from AutoCAD, even though we have Civil 3D inhouse.
using plain AutoCAD straight out of the box?

Jul 31, 2013If we're in a drawing and pick the AutoCAD application button > Drawing Utilities > Drawing Properties we can, and do, use this to enter custom propterties. Is there any way to print out a report of a drawing's custom properties? Ideally, i would like to be able to select multiple drawings and print a report of each drawing's properties.

Jul 18, 2013I'm tasked with setting up a new dwt file to be used along with the Sheet Set Manager.
I've got as far as adding in my own custom properties at both the Sheet Set level (things like project name, site name, etc.), and at the Sheet level (drawing title).
But more specifically, at the Sheet Level, I want to be able to facilitate having a multi-line drawing title. Things start to get a little cloudy.
In order to be able to control where the line breaks are, I've simply created 5 fields (3 for an odd number of lines, 2 for even), and I want to set their Default Value so they don't display anything, i.e. a space or blank of some kind, instead of the four dots. So when I want to add the title I go to the Sheet properties and change the value.
I thought it'd be as simple as adding the ASCII code for a space (U+00A0) into the Default Value, but that seems to display the text U+00A0 instead of the space.

Dec 20, 2011I’m trying to get the embossed text on a nameplate (done in sketch on a part) to change with updating a custom property in iProperties. Right now I’m using iLogic so I can change the text in User Parameters and that updates the embossed text. So where I’m having an issue is the Export Parameters tab is grayed out so I can’t get it work with my custom properties.

May 23, 2012I must have hit some combination of keys which altered my interface because Autocad 2013 is acting slighly differently. I can no longer pick Dtext and change its contents directly but must go into the properties tab and change the text through the properties window. When I pick an object my layers scroll windo no longer identifies the objects layer. And when I right click an object I no longer have access to the same set of command that I used to. For example I used to be able to right click an XREF and have the command xclip available but that and other specific commands are no longer available. I am on a deadline and am not able to figure out what is causing this sudden unexpected change in the interface.

May 5, 2011Recently I had to re-install Inv 2011. Before I did this, I could stack my text. After re-install, it asked for my atuostack options (which i entered), and clicked "Do Not Show Again". Afterwhich the text did not stack (which is the opposite of what i told it to do). Now I cannot stack text at all. Even if i highlight, right click, and select stack - it doesn't stack. If I open a prevoius drawing with stacked text it shows stacked text, but if you edit the text field it shows the text as S<1/70>3#8s for 3/8.

I can select the .dst file, but when it "opens" I onlly have the icon in the seet set manager and nothing else, it is entirely blank.
I made a new sheet set, but now older versions of AutoCAD cannot read that one.

Feb 10, 2013I'm fairly new to Autocad and getting used to using sheet set manager. What I'm experiencing is, when you insert a model view it brings in an xref of that model, but i'm then unsure how to add additional xref models into the same view.
For example I have a separate ground floor plan file and OS data file which I want to show in the one sheet view without nesting the OS data to the original ground floor file.

Jul 20, 2013Problem :I have a large number of ex-camera jpegs of the pages of a book,photographed at an archive where scanning is prohibited. A camera stand wasused, with the book supported on foam wedges. Consequently, both pages ineach image are distorted - i.e. each page of a pair is a trapezium.It is, of course, a simple matter to crop and apply the perspective tool(twice) to an image to restore the pages to their flat state. Doing it forseveral hundred images is a non-starter, and anyway that's what the machineis for.
Proposed solution :
Import an image to the Gimp.
Drag and drop a number of images into the same project - as many as themachine can handle.
Link the image layers.
Crop.
Select one page and use the Perspective Tool to pull the page 'square'.Repeat for the second page.
Export each image, working down the stack.
Result :Selecting the right-hand page and correcting the perspective works, in thatthe Gimp progressively works down the layers. But, although each right-handpage is correctly 'squared up', all the left-hand pages, other than the toplayer, are enlarged and cropped.
Software used :2.6 under Debian Squeeze.
2.8.2 under Mint 14.1
2.8.6 under Windows 7
All OS 64-bit.

Jan 3, 2013I'm pretty sure there's a way to do this but I am not sure on what code to use. I would like to have the "number" field on my title block template always get the "part number" attribute from the first base view (or first part/assembly) on sheet 1. This will be regardless of what sheet I am using the title block on. I could even store it as a custom property or something as I won't ever have two different part numbers in one drawing.
To clarify on that, we may have a welded assembly that has one single part number, but as I'm designing it, I just add a -1, -2, etc. to the end of the part number for each component being made. In the end when they're all welded together, it's one part number. Since no one else needs to see my -1, -2 etc, I'd like it to pull the part number from the assembly on sheet 1 for every sheet.
AutoCAD Architecture :: Changing Sheet List Properties
Feb 16, 2012I have two problems. I want to change the text size, font, and color to be consistent with my office standards. However I can not find where the Sheet List Style is stored or edited. Which brings me to the second issue, the HELP in Exchange is bogus. Like MANY of the help entries, it refers to incorrectly named or non existent features and commands. In this case it says to "Select the sheet list in the drawing, right-click, and click Edit Sheet List Table Settings." which would be fine, except there is no option in the right click menu named "Edit Sheet List Table Settings".
Clicking on the Manage tab on the ribbon and selecting style Manager, the selecting Documentation objects, then schedule table styles, yeilds...nothing. How can I edit something that has no options?
Hiding the style manager so that all you get when you click on help is a ding that tells you there is a command open, but does not bring the command window to the fore.

Apr 2, 2013I am writing a program acts on the current drawing by using data in the SSM. If the current drawing is found to be a member of a sheet set (using sysvar SSFOUND) it cycles through all the sheet in the sheet set looking for a sheet entry that matches. Sometimes a match is not found because the layout name in the SSM does not match the layout name in the current tab (sysvar CTAB). Is there a more directly way...and one that works? I just need a reliable way to get the AcSmSheet object the correlates to the current drawing.

Aug 5, 2013I am using Inventor 2010 (I know this is my first problem, but you have to use what you're given!) and I need to use the sheet number in a calculation that will display the result in a text box. =((<SHEET NUMBER>-1)8)=1 displays a result of ((11-1)8)+1. I suspect that the sheet number is being brought in as text instead of a number. I tried adding atoi to the equation to convert the sheet number to an integer, but it did not work.Is there an alternate source for the sheet number that will return a number? Is my syntax wrong?
