View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a series of Autocad Objects (3D faces). I need to turn the contiguous group of them into a SINGLE Autocad surface. I know next to nothing about vanilla autocad and 3D stuff. Seems there must be a way to make a surface out of objects. I would then use this resulting surface to carve a solid. DWG with 3D faces in it attached.

When I open old drawings with these hatches in them, they load just fine...but I am unable to hatch any new areas with these hatches (because they are not listed in the hatch library)
View 9 Replies View RelatedWe received a surface model from a vendor that I have patched up as best I can, it still has one hole that I can find that I haven't been able to fill. Ideally we would like to have a solid model, but I'm running out of time to get this done and the surface model we have would be good enough for our purposes IF I can get the yellow surface tangent lines to turn off or change their color to black.
I've attached a jpg of the surface model with the yellow lines and uploaded the model here: [URL].....
Is there any way converting surface to 2d hatch ? I am making plan view to show materials used to make my road , to do that i need to hatch all the plan in different hatches ( for example sidewalks - green, paves -yellow, shoulders - brown... ) .
I could try hatching closed polylines made from corridor feature lines , but i get often an error that my boundaries aint closed . SO i started to think , maybe there is a way to do something from surfaces.
I have a very complicated shaped polygon with a big island in the middle (ditches around an agricultural field). The area hatches normally but creating a Mpolygon (from the polylines) gives the wrong fill. Is it possible to convert a normal hatch directly to a Mpolyon?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been migrating dozens and dozens of .pat files from one version of AutoCAD to the next for many, many versions. Most recently in AutoCAD 2013 the .pat files were stored in the C:Program FilesAutodeskAutoCAD 2013SupportPatterns - worked fine. During the migration to 2014 I received an install error report stating that this subdirectory did not exist and could not be created. Alternately it stated that the new default path C:UsersUsernameAppDataRoamiongAutodesk|AutoCAD 2014R19.1enuSupport will be used instead.
At first I created the Patterns subdirectory where it could not be done automatically. No luck. Then I placed the Patterns subdirectory in C:UsersUsernameAppDataRoamiongAutodesk|AutoCAD 2014R19.1enuSupportPatterns and no luck.

How to convert the “existing” hatch from one measurement to another?
In the screenshot below, the first hatch is drawn with “measurement” = 1 (metric), while the second is drawn when the measurement = 0 (imperial). The “measurement” value is not a property for the hatch!
Then how to convert the hatch that already exist and drawn with the “measurement” = 0 to the “measurement” = 1.
In other words, how to switch all the hatches in a particular plan from being “imperial” based (measurement = 0) to “metric” (measurement = 1)?
Is there a way to do that? Or should we delete the existing hatches and re-draw them with the required setting (metric/imperial)?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem in an elevation view where the surface hatch covers the windows after I apply a Modify Roofline command in the construct.
When I look at the elevation in an isometric view you can see the surface hatch go through the windows. When I refresh the elevations after the construct xref is reloaded after Modify Roofline command the windows are no longer visible.
If I reset the modify roofline command in the construct, reload the xref in the elevation the elevation returns to normal.
I'd like to figure out why after the modify roofline command the windows are covered in the elevation but not in the construct view.
ACA 2011. I would like to copy the "standard" wall style add a surface hatch and display that in an elevation (exterior) view. I have played around with this and due to many different places to edit the materials.
I have the elevations created. When I go back into the construct and edit the wall style do I have to re-create the elevations to see the hatch? Or I think I just have something set incorrectly in the style.
is there a way to convert multiple 2d solids to hatches.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI need a function that allows to convert the polylines selected with a width globalize defined in a double closed line (spaced by the same width of the polyline), with a hatch inserted automatically defined.
Brilliant idea to draw raceways quickly: instead of making handmade double lines, connect, enter the hatches all by hand, you could quickly draw the polyline with width identical to the size of the duct, and then the lisp transform it into a duct more aesthetically pleasing if compared to the full polyline!

Then I try to convert to a surface and while the geometry is accurate the isolines change dramatically. I'm trying to bring the item into Inventor so that I can have a clean surface to work from. Unfortunately I get what you see in the picture. The top left is before converting to a surface. Bottom right is after.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSelecting the hatch by clicking it, It happens very often that we fail to select the hatch by clicking it.
How to ensure selecting that hatch by clicking it? Why the hatch is failed to be selected by clicking it?
A grip of a hatch is not snapped to another, In the attached screenshots, I tried to move the indicated grip to a target one but no “sign” for snaps is shown!
The screenshot and the dwg are attached. How these two grips can be snapped?
Software: AutoCAD 2014, AutoCAD C3D, AutoCAD M3D, Revit
Windows 7 (Ultimate 64 bits),
Firefox 20.0,
Kaspersky 2013.
Here's a new one for me. All the hatch in a drawing file 'vanished'. Can't pick it, can't see it - layer is on and thawed.
I used FILTER to select all the hatches on the layer, and wblocked them out. File is attached, just rename from the .zip extension to .dwg
I still can't see them, or pck them. Auditing will remove the associativity, but that's about it. Still nothing to see.
Our engineering department users are facing this problem that the hatch patterns are not visible. Everytime they have to use the FILL command when they open any drawing. They are facing this problem with some dwgs, when anybody else opens the same drawing this happens again. After that they are unable to see the hatch patterns in any drawing. After using FILL it becomes visible but restrting the AutoCAD reverts the setting back so they unable to see the hatch pattern again. After opening that dwg in all files they are unable to hatch.
