I am a new user of AutoCad 2010 and am trying to access what used to be the detail component manager, but now I understand would be accessed through the Style and Display panel under the manage tab.
The problem is, I have no Style and Display panel
I have attached a screen shot showing the manage tab open and the CUI open showing the panel options expanded - which do not include the style and display panel- only the four panels currently installed under the Manage tab.
I've really hit a dead end and don't know where to look for the style and display panel so I can ultimately access the structural catalog.
I've been working with a firm for 6 weeks now, and had no major AutoCAD problems for the first 5 weeks. We're running AutoCAD 2010 on my machine, and it crashes quite often when I close drawings, which is quite annoying. But last week after opening a series of drawings to print some stuff for the boss, and CAD crashing after every 1 or 2 prints, I got the message:
A display driver file (.hdi) is missing or has been corrupted. The program will be closed.
This problem may be caused by missing .hdi files in the following location:
C:program filesAutoCAD Architecture 2012drv
I ran a repair, then did a reinstall, and when neither of those worked I just uninstalled and reinstalled the whole program. I still got the error message, but I had opened AutoCAD Architecture and was using that instead for a bit and saw Autodesk do an update in the background. So I booted up AutoCAD 2010 and it was working again so I guess it fixed the problem. I used it for a few more days then yesterday I had to open and print another series of drawings for the boss and it crashed again after every one, as usual, and when I sat back down and tried to open up a drawing to work on it I got the same error message again. Frustrated and angry, I switched over to AutoCAD Architecture and imported my Classic setting and used that for the next day. But this morning I had to open and print 3 more drawings for the boss and Architecture crashed after every one, then it started giving me the same error that regular AutoCAD has been giving me about the missing .hdi file. I copied the drv folder from a co-worker's computer and replaced mine with the working one, but neither version of AutoCAD is working again.
So I ask, what do I do now? I can't keep uninstalling and reinstalling AutoCAD every week because of these crashes and missing .hdi files. I need a real fix, something to fix the constant crashes and missing files. Sometimes I have to open multiple drawings to pull blocks or whatever from an older drawing, and I can't risk CAD crashing after I close these drawings and me possibly losing some work on the file I am actually working on at the time. this is making me way less productive at work spending all this time trying to get AutoCAD to work.
Here's my problem: I have a customized plot style table "SK.ctb". I have it saved both in the appropriate folders on my computer and in a shared folder on the network. Usually when I am working in a file and open the plot window, my plot table is available in the list at the upper right "Plot style table (pen assignments)".
Right now I am working in a drawing that was sent to me by another firm. They of course didn't send me their pen assignment tables, not that I really care as I would rather edit the layer colors if necessary, but use my own. The problem is that in the plot window it is only showing their plot styles - none of mine! Theirs are all listed as missing, but I can't get it to even look for the plot tables I usually use.
I must have changed a setting and now I cannot figure out what I did.
On AutoCad at school, when drawing a line, there is a light blue dialogue box that would pop up above the cursor telling you the length of the line before you set it. (not the coordinates).
This is not showing up on the educational version of AutoCad I am running at home.
I am trying to convert all missing PlotStyles that are missing to one that is not missing.
I am working with the Style Manager and Display Manger. We use a custom .stb and in this custome .stb we have eliminated some of the standard PlotStyle Names such as Full Saturation, well as you may imagine some of the default materials, walls etc... under Style manager reference Full Saturation, right now I am going in by hand, one by one, changing this to AsDrawn.
Is there a way I can automate this for two purposes? 1.) so I don't have to do this all by hand 2.) as we "copy" elements from older jobs we can macro the change of plotstyle and so when we get drawings from outside we again can macro the plotstyle to AsDrawn.
After closing and reopening my command prompt, I find that it is now at the bottom left of the screen and no longer part of the main graphics window. How can I get it to display at the bottom of the main display?
i'm experiencing some problems with the vieport in max 2012.sometimes when i restart max all my geometries in viewport are missing, while all are still there.
I'm using C3D 2013 on a 64 bit windows 7 machine. I have basejump loaded, and when I first installed it there would be a "Raster" tab in the ribbon that would allow me to resample, etc. That tab is now gone. How to get it back?
I used to click on a point to select it and a new tab would show up in the ribbon to list points, edit points, etc. That doesn't come up anymore either.
My co-worker is working on his first Inventor project and he opened up Inventor 11 this morning and both his panel and browser bar are no where to be seen - yet checked off in the options as visible? What is the problem and how do we fix it. He used it two days ago and everything was fine.
I was recently looking at the WikiHelp entry on AutoLimits, because it sounded useful but I haven't seen it before. However, upon checking, I noticed that I don't have the AutoLimits panel in my Inspect tab. Instead, I only have the Interference (buttons: Analyze Interference; Activate Contact Solver) and Measure (buttons: Distance, Angle, Loop, Area, Region Properties) panels.
I am running Autodesk Inventor Professional 2012, student edition, on a HP Pavilion dv2000, with 3GB RAM and an Intel Pentium Dual CPU (1.86GHz). My operating system is Windows 7 Professional 32-bit. I am an administrator.
I installed ACA 2011 on 6 computers. 5 of the 6 had aca 2008 and XP on them. The 6th was a new computer with windows 7 on it. We notice that the build panel on the Home tab is not there. How do I get it there?
I am looking to reach the Autodesk Seek function from the ribbon menu, but cannot find the Content Panel on the Insert Tab. I did a little poking around in the .cuix, through the cui customization command, but cannot even find it. Is there a way to download this, or has the feature been removed for ACAD 2013?
is there a way to change the way distance is measured in a drawing from fractional to decimal? I get drawings that always display dimensions in fractions and being an engineer not a carpenter I need dimensions to be decimal so I am not forced to look up what the decimal equivalent of a fraction is all the time. I am amazed that AC doesn't force me to input dimensions as fractions on these drawings.
This is another one of those options that appears to be hidden but should be available in a real page setup option or in the options. Unlike the current page setup which seems to be a print setup instead. I love hidden options, like when I made the mistake of changing the default fractional style that I am now stuck with. I love being caught between 2 bad options. Either I have to put up with being asked constantly if I want to change how fractions are displayed or I can't change the default ever again.
I have to add a style text in a display manager. When i add it, i have a option to scale this text. It is possible to have possibility to scale the text as a same height in multiple viewport in a layout... example (* 10 (VIEWPORTSCALE)) but this line does'n work
I thought I had a grasp of the CUI routine, but apparently not. I copied the Image panel from the "Insert" Ribbon tab in Task-based Geospatial, and got it where I wanted. The commands are there, but the images are not - just the infamous cloud with "?". I can go back into Task-based Geospatial workspace and the icons are there, but I can't figure out where they are being referenced. Are they embedded here somehow? In the CUI under both the main .cuix list of ribbon panels and those for the partial workspace for TASKBASEDRIBBON, the button images are not linked to anything, just the cloud with "?" It seems that I need to be able to copy the Image panel from the right side window (when Task-based Geospatial is set to current) over to the main .

I imported data from a SHP file to a base drawing I plan to use to attach, and I wanted to replace data points with data symbol definition blocks. However, when I create a symbol style and try to edit it by double-clicking, I get a *Cancel* on the command line and nothing happends. When I pressing the "Style" button on the Display Manager tab in the Task Pane, same thing.I suspect that I missed a step - or several - along the way of importing the SHP file.
Is there a way that I can make the length of the dropdown menu (shown below) for the Dimension Styles longer? It is difficult to select the correct dimstyle.
I am looking for either a corridor style or surface style to display slopes while in plan view while working on a corridor. I know you can turn on slope arrows as a surface style, but I am actually looking for the grade to be displayed next to a slope arrow. Hopefully I am explaining it properly.
I just am looking for a better way to spot errors before putting surfaces into machine control without checking station by station in the section editor.
I did the update photoshop '14 .1.1 'and I found a bug I had not avant.quand I press F5 to display the Brushes panel, it does not open but fusione the calques.j 'but I looked in the keyboard shortcuts, but I found nothing.
I can't seem to find a way to display the Metadata panel that is supposed to be located near "keywords," etc. in the right panel in the Library Module. I have the Histogram, Quick Develop, Keywords, etc. but nothing after Keywords. I've looked through <Editpreferences> and <View> but can't seem to find anything there.
