I have created a script file to change some drawing settings. If it's possible to create a button to find the script file and run it. I am running it now by typing SCR then searching for it and selecting open.
I would like to give it to others to use and thought if I can create a one button pick it would be easier for others.
I am looking for creating a button that will open a PDF file (Manual). The purpose would be to have our users open our draftig procedures manual by clicking this button without the need to close autocad.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn the save as dialog box, the button for creating a new folder will automatically create a named "new folder" at the bottom of the files list. It does not come up highlighted for naming but can be right-clicked, renamed. If your files list is long you won't even see the new folder created as it does not snap to the folder either. Conversely; I can still right-click, new, folder. This acts as expected which creates folder at the top of files list, highlighted for naming.
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo i turned off the "command line completion" settings. However, now I have to type in the full command in order to run it. I found that there should be an "acad.pgp" file somewhere in the support paths that will allow me to define command aliases. So i did a complete search of my C: drive for "*.pgp" and the search came up empty; I tried a few different ways and places (trying narrow it down) but couldn't find ANY of these files.
I have the student version of 2012. Does this have something to do with it? I wouldn't think it should because of what it says on the education site: "Important Note :The Autodesk Student Version software incorporates all the functionality of our professional licenses, but includes a print banner making the software inappropriate for professional, commercial, or for-profit purposes."

when i add a custom template file location under options>files>template settings>drawing template file location>default template file name for QNEW i i get the error message c:program filesautodeskautocad mechanical 2012acadmamg3dim.arx cannot find a dll or other file that it needs. if i remove my custom template file location and leave it blank, i get no error. its the same thing for the drawing template file location, if i change the default file location to another path, i get a different dll error message when launching cad.

"Cannot find the specified drawing file. Please verify that the file exist"
The Autodesk product I am using is Autodesk 2012 LT (trial)
The operating system is Widows 7 (64 bit)

I have administrative rights to the profile in question and I have also attempted to use a separate profile but received the same results. All attempts to manually set the file association have liekwise failed. the program will initialize, but the error message returns with no ability to veiw the drawing file(s).
I have also removed/uninstalled all of the above mentioned programs via Autodesk instructions/procedures for proper removal of folders/subfolders/registry entries (HKey local machine and current user) as well as stoping any autodesk program running in task manager.
My next step is to re-image the machine to make the file association stick to an autocad program.
When I try and open a file from the network that another user already has open, I receive the following message:
"Cannot find the specified drawing file. Please verify that the network drive is available and the file exists".
This happens when using Novell Netware. Is there a resolution?
I downloaded a trial copy of the Corel VideoStudio Pro X5 Ultra. Every time I click on the Create Video File button the program crashes. I get a message that the program must exit. Every time I try this, it crashes.

I thought the best way might be to extract the text to excel and perform it there but at the moment the only way i can do it is to copy and paste the text and its taking me forever. Is there a way to either a) extract text to excel or b) calculate a MEAN value based on texted selected?
View 2 Replies View RelatedLisp that can create layouts (using a dwt--I would code in the file path to my dwt) reading data from a csv file??? I would create the drawings ahead of time, all I would need is to run the lisp and it would create all the layouts in those dwgs and name them according to the csv.
The csv file contains the drawing names in column A and the layout names in column B. So, what I want to do is create "n" number of layouts in specific dwgs, using the cell data it reads from column A--which are the drawing names, and then rename all those layouts with the cell data from B--note it would not create duplicate (existing) tabs. This way I can re-run it later to add new layouts to the drawings as needed.
The reason is that I work on projects with several hundred layouts--thus the need to create layouts more easily across as many drawings as necessary. Instead of renaming/deleting a ton of layouts; it would be easier to start with a minimal template(s) and have the lisp create the exact number of layouts we need instead of going back and making a ton of edits. Since the csv is created at the beginning of the project, any changes later (adding layouts), can easily be done by running the lisp again.
I have a .psd file that was created by someone else for my friends web page. The psd file is the background, logo, and navigational bar for her home page. Each button is a "slice" I think because there are lines around each button on the left side navigational bar (not a true navigational bar just created by buttons) and around the head and body etc. (The lines are blue if that tells you anything - each section is numbered with a little tiny icon that looks a little like the back of an envelope.)
My question - we wanted to change the word on one of the buttons - I did that saved the psd file - no problem. Then I cropped out the button that we had changed. When I saved it to the web (as a jpg) the button looks like a button (a box around it - not a line a raised area that looks like a button.) The other buttons do NOT look like a button (even though the layers are named buttons.)
How can I change it so it looks flat (not button like) like all of the rest of the items on the navigational bar.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using AutoCAD 2012. I’ve come to realize that my Sheet Set command won’t work, as I cannot get any sheet sets to open. When I select a sheet and try and open it, nothing happens at all.
Also, I did get an error message when trying to create a new sheet set, “Unable to create sheet set file: *filename*”
Trying to the base view system in acad 2012. Got inventor model and want to document in acad. New blank layout tab. Select base view and as model space is empty it asks for inventor file as it should. I select my ipt file.
it then says 'invalid autodesk inventor file C:projects......'
the command then closes.
I created brand new part, plain cube, and still the same.
How do I create a new CTB file OR insure that a drawing is supported by an existing CTB file? I have tried to start one from scratch using Plot window - when I click on file - it sends me back to MY DOCUMENTS. Is this a glich??
View 9 Replies View RelatedI want to add an attribute to a BLK file I have from a past release. Using this .BLK file, I can create a table from attributes in my drawing using a LISP routine.
It seems there is no way to create or edit a .BLK file that I can use for this in ACAD 2011, it only creates .DXE files.
The problem with the .DXE file is that is saves the drawing that the original extraction is performed on. When I use the .DXE in another drawing, it uses the original drawing data unless I manually "delete" the old drawing reference using the dialog box in the extraction wizard.
The .BLK file works perfectly, but I want to add an attribute. How can I create a new, or edit my old .BLK file?
Will I have to reinstall an older version of AutoCAd to accomplish this?

I can't find the "reset setting" button from edit on My maya 2014 software.
The reason the tutorial is using the "rest setting" is to adjust the width, height and depth of the cube I have out there by using numbers as its measurement.
I don't know if there are any other buttons that can do the same job, or is there another way to find this button... I can't progress my learning until I know what to do about this.
