I,m running 2012 LT. Whenever I go to select a point on a region or move an object to a regions vicinity the computer hangs. Exploding the region relieves the problem. Large drawings or anything else don't seem to cause a problem.
View 1 RepliesI am typesetting an A4 document using paragraph text. When I get about a third of the way down the page the computer slows right down and gets worse and worse as I go on. I have reformatted my hard drive and reloaded Corel draw but am still having the same problem!
View 8 Replies View RelatedAutoCAD will be running fine but if i use the Block editior everything suddenly slows down.
It doesn't matter what block I edit or if I even edit a block but if I open and then close the Block editor it slows considerably.
I have treid Regen, Purge, Audit, Turning off snap's, Polar Tracking etc but nothing seems to work with the exception of closing and resetting AutoCAD
With the command window displayed at the bottom of the screen, everything slows down. The cursor momentarily freezes and it takes a second or two for commands to be fulfilled. Also, the command window is about 7 lines high; in the past, I have shrunk it to maybe 3 or 4 lines but I cannot shrink this wndow.Â
Then, when I push control-9 and the window disappears, everything speeds up to normal!Â
I tried turning off my internet connection and my McAfee Viruscan as well. Running without the command window makes it hard to draft. Since I type shortcuts, I figure I must have hit the wrong key and unleashed something unspeakably terrible.
I am running AutoCAD version 10 on my PC, with Windows XP Professional.
I have a data-linked table (from an Excel 2007 file, 32-bit) in an Autocad 2010 drawing (64-bit, Windows 7 OS).
If the table is displayed as a single column, with table breaks off, the file will save within seconds.
If I enable table breaks, it will take at least 3-5 minutes for the drawing file to save.
I am unable to find any solution. I've tried using different table styles, different linked files/drawings, saving locally vs. on the network, headers and titles repeating vs not. The slowness is a major productivity killer.
I am having one region entity which is not getting exploded.
This region is resultant of solid editing (bolean opearions) on some regions. When I use explode() function to explode this region programatically it returns status as 'eNotApplicable'. And if I try to explode this region manually using EXPLODE command in AutoCAD 2010 it gives message as 'Cannot explode REGION'.
I am not getting why this is causing problem in 2010 only. It is working fine in other AutoCAD versions.
One easy way for I calculate the weight of plates with many holes is creating regions and subtract the cuts as i need and after apply "LIST" command for get value of area . But, i cannot subtract the regions, in command line says :

Why masking region and filled region not working (bicome)transparent when I attach link file. If I hide the link file ,maskin region and filled region works fine. Visual style is hidden line.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently got a new computer at work but now some of my font styles aren't showing up as they did before: the font is different and the formating is not the same. I still have access to my old computer, which still has AutoCAD on it and the drawings show up fine. I looked in the forum and people have mentioned sending the font style to the new computer but I am not sure how to do this.
View 6 Replies View RelatedDynamic blocks not working on one new office computer with AutoCAD 2013 -  The problem seems mainly with the stretch feature. some features like flip and visibility states seem to work. The blocks are good, they work on other machines and on saved files from that computer.
We have tried doing a repair with the disk and updating with service pack 1.1.
Other computer have AutoCAD MEP 2013, but these are not MEP features.
I read an older post (2007) regarding the blocks not working due to the shortcut menus in drawing area no checked in the options, but that does not seem to be the issue.
Is there a way to hand off all the rendering to a different computer? AutoCad is installed on my desktop, but it would be great to offload all the rendering to a server that has lots of CPU power. Is this even possible?

For some reason my co-worker has a problem opening my dwgs. When he opens them, he is seeing some layers fade out---only on the Layout's, not the Model. Everything from my Titleblock, to the actual Drawing inside the viewport.
View 9 Replies View RelatedDon't know if I need to check some other setting or this is just the way it is. When I use PUBLISH to plot a set of drawings, I can't do anything else on the computer. If I try to type in any other software, it is interrupted and the cursor moved away from the software. I am able to type maybe a couple letters in any software, then the cursor goes away, put cursor back, type 2 letters, repeat, interrupt, cursor back, 2 letters etc..

These computers are not connected.
I'd have to copy to a CD.
Is it possible to migrate settings from Autocad 2011 to Autocad 2012 on 2 different computers.
Bought new computer and installed Autocad 2012. I never installed Autocad 2012 on old computer.
Am I forced to load 2011 on new computer, migrate settings from old computer and then migrate settings to Autocad 2012.
If i open multiple AutoCAD applications in one computer, am I utilizing two network lincenses? We have a few network lincenses to share with the whole team. However, it's more efficient for me and avoid application crashes, I typically open two AutoCAD windows in two monitor (which are connecting to one computer).
Since we don't have enough network lincenses, my company suggest to open only one application per computer only.
Since I installed LR4 my computer shuts down every time I am working in it. What could it be?

I removed the program using windows uninstall and my computer instantly began to respond again. Running Windows 7 Pro, 1 T 7200 rpm hard drive, 8 gb memory, quad core 775 chip. Nvidia video w/ 1gb memory.
This computer is lightning fast, no jitter or hanging in revit or auto cad until content services was running.
I originally installed my CS5 on a computer running Windows Vista & it worked great. I just got a new computer running Windows 7, installed my Adobe Photoshop Elements & CS5 on it, but now it doesn't work properly. When I click on the right hand triangle at the bottom of any of the tools, it doesn't open to show the different tools like it used to.

View 9 Replies View Relatedscince I installed AutoCAD Map 3D 2014 my Laptop is starting very slow. I have a Thinkpad W530 with a 500GB SSD, so the start up should be really fast. But scince i have AutoCAD the laptop needs about 10 to 15 minutes bevore i can open any programm. (as the lenovo update center says i have the latest drivers)
My girlfriend who has a Dell Inspiron laptop (with a normal HDD) has the same problem scince she installed autoCAD.Â
I am having a problem with Autocad 2012 LT. It typically runs fine, but after using it for an extended period of time with multiple projects open, it becomes painfully slow to perform basic tasks like copying objects, opening projects, and saving projects. Restarting AutoCAD does not fix the problem, however, restarting my computer does fix the problem. I just don't want to be continually restarting my computer as on average I need to do this 3-4 times per day at work.

I have an Excel file linked to a Table which has 3,400 lines. When the Table is unbroken a File Save takes 30 seconds. When the Table is broken it takes 30 Minutes to save. Makes the breaking feature for large table unusable.Â

I'm working on a rather large subdivision (not uncommon, certainly used to a longer-than-normal load time) but have found one of our XREF files to be bringing drawing loads to a screeching halt. We have XLOADCTL set to 2, which explains the creation of the temporary file.
I have previously gone into the file and reset the scale list, which speed things up by about 50%, but today it appears to be doing the same thing.
Is there anything I can do to prevent this from becoming a more serious problem? Can I add some sort of SCALELISTEDIT reset command to the acaddoc.lsp file?

View 3 Replies View Relatedwhen ever I bring a clip into the timeline and play it as a "Clip" the sound is fine. When I play it as a "project" the video plays normal but the sound is slowed way down out of sync. This problem carries over to the burned DVD also.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen i load up PS everything is fine - very responsitive - but after a while (around ½ hour to 1 hour) ps slows down and any tool becomes very slow; brush, pan.. everything.I then save my work and reload PS - and everything works fine again. My system is a powerful quadcore box with 8 GB of RAM and approx 300 GB of scratch disk - all running on Vista x64.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a scene (original Sketchup > 3ds > max) with 100's of thousands of objects. About 60 odd materials. Due to mapping being specific I'm manually converting the standard materials to VRay Materials (latest vray 2.3) - Yes I'm NOT using the VRayScene Converter in this case. Even with ALL OBJECTS HIDDEN, after I get to like the 10th or 11th subobject material, max just suddenly slows down to a crawl. Just to change a colour swatch (not even a bitmap) takes sometimes like 2 minutes or longer for max to respond. I thought maybe it's an UNDO issue so I set UNDO levels to just 1. This didn't work. With Nitrous, I have viewport progressive refinement switched OFF. I tried switching to OpenGL and the viewports are actually MUCH more responsive in wireframe. In OpenGL it seems to last longer before the slowdowns start again. I'm not even at the render stage yet.
I'm on Win7 64bit with 16GB Ram. i7 2600k and 2 X SSD in raid 0. I have an ATI 6990 4GB with the lastest drivers (Catalyst 12.6). Max has the latest update3 installed.
