View 1 RepliesI am trying to plot over 100 drawings to PDF. They are mechanical drawings and the details need to be clear. I tried a batch plot, but when printed in 11x17, everything is a bit fuzzy on the PDF. I tried a PDF convertor, and it was very clear, but it put a large, "Free Trail" logo in the center, ha.

I've used batch plot to make pdf copies of my drawings in version 2004 and did not have this issue:
In 2010 when I use batch plot to pdf (say for 5 drawings), it produces one single pdf file with 5 sheets. I want an individual pdf file for each drawing (5 pdfs).
I don't want to have to open each drawing and plot. That's what batch plot is for!
Tying to Batch Plot to a PDF file and make the lines and text show Black not in colors. How to force colors to Black while Batch plotting to a PDF?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have one drawing per file at model tab. When I need to plot a multiple page file, I use:
Print > Batch Plot.
The problem is that I have to set plot configurations ( plot style table, plot area, paper size, etc) in each file before use Batch Plot.
Now I received 722 files with a wrong Plot Style Table. For this time I change the associated *.ctb file at Plot Style folder, but I will need to associate the right *.ctb to each drawing. It's also common to have to change other properties.
I am trying to batch plot to PDF's from a drawing file that has multiple tabs in it. I would like each tab to be a separate PDF file. We are utilizing Acrobat X to write the PDF's. AutoCAD places all of the tabs into one file whether I tell a Multi-sheet file or a Single-sheet file.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have just switched over to 2014 and i cannot for the life of me get my batch plot to plot PDF's to a single file! Instead, it's printing all 37 layouts separate. I tried switching between multi-file & single file in the publish options, but nothing!
i know that it took me a while to perfect my settings the last time i set up a new version, but i am struggling to work it out now.
Been attempting to batch plot numerous dwg files to a printer via publisher. Has been successful on 2010, however experiencing difficulties in 2012.
Method used
open dwg file
set page set up to that required
save down dwg
print>Batch plot
add rest of dwg files to be plotted
remove all layouts to retain only Model Space
Highlight all dwgs
Select page set up from currently open dwg file
Publish
Result - only active dwg prints

When I use the pdf plot drivers from AutoCAD or the export to pdf option the resulting pdf is not available to the other computer trying to access it through a shared folder.
When I plot to pdf with batch plot or export the drawing to pdf and save the file in the shared folder, the other computer can not open the pdf (file not found) or attach the file to an email (you do not have permission)
Why is this? All other files share and open fine. Only pdf files from batch plot, plot to dwg to pc3, or export to pdf. This is a pain and I still have to use another plot driver (cutepdf) to get a fully useable pdf for our office.
We frequently publish drawings to PDF files. However, we recently noticed that when we publish to the PDF file in monochrome, all hatching publishes in color.
We need the entire PDF in black and white, but I can't figure out what settings I'm missing.
For some reason, when using publish in 2012, it keeps taking me out of whatever window I have active at the moment. In all my versions of cad, I've never once had this issue.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have layouts set to print to a printer in the office, sometimes with different sized sheets. Everything worked perfect until we upgraded from Civil 3d 2013 to 2014. Where I'm gettin a problem now is publishing to PDF. It will cut off the left and right margins of the 11x17 sheets. I've tried everything and looked everywhere but can't keep it from doing that.
Is there anywhere to set the publish to PDF settings? I've played with the DWG to PDF.pc3 settings and no change.
I am using AutoCAD LT 2012 and when I plot to PDF using a monochrome ctb mydrawinghs look as intended, black and white with different lieweights, but when I publish the same drawings to PDF they turn into grayscale PDF images
View 2 Replies View RelatedBefore upgrading to 2012 from 2010 (against our will), our publishing tool worked seamlessly with our XEROX 6604. Now, strangely only one user out of seven has the ability to publish a set of drawings without crashing AutoCAD. We are happy that it works on his machine, but it seems very odd that the rest of us are affected when our PCs are the same spec and setup.
All of the proper drivers and firmware are up to date.
I am having trouble using the publish command when I set the plotter to a 22x34 sheet. We are able to print to an actual plotter just fine at that size, but when we try and make a pdf set at that size, it just errors out.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe used a block which contains deisel expressions for our plot stamp. When we publish through the sheet set manager it shows a temp folder where the drawings are spooled to instead of the actual drawing saved path. We can fix this buy turning off background plotting when we publish, but I was wondering if there is a way to show the saved path instead of the spoolled path when publishing in the background.
Below is the expression found in our plot stamp block.

Publishing files using Autocad 2012 with a page setup to plot to PDF files. I am utilizing Autodesks "DWG to PDF.pc3" file. But I have to go and manually rename the files to remove the "- Model". Is there a way to change this while publishing? Or am I stuck with this file naming convention?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a problem to plot thin lines and dots when Plot Transparency option is On in the Plot dialog box.
The lineweight is a half of the original. I think i have tried everything.
It shows correctly in the Plot Preview but when printed there are no dotted hatches and lines are much thinner.
AutoCAD - Why does the Normal plot style plot in color? Black seems to make a lot more sense. Almost everyone in Architecture uses black prints most frequently so that should be the default. And you can't adjust Normal to all black. So what was AutoDesk's reasoning?
View 9 Replies View Relatedhas something changed in 2011 controlling prompts to save pdfs when publishing from sheetset manager?? im using page overrides, which uses dwg to pdf.pc3 file. it publishes but no prompt for file name. i have checked the sheetset publish options and it is set to multiple & prompt for file name, however it still doesnt prompt and saves it in the folder nominated. where else is this controlled?
View 6 Replies View Relatedwhen I publish multiple layouts to a single pdf. When I publish all the files at one time the right side of the drawing where the title block is cut off about an inch and does not show the complete title block. Publishing to a printer as a multiple batch or publishing the layouts one at a time to pdf does not exhibit this problem.
View 2 Replies View RelatedPublishing to PDF as single sheets for insertion into other documents or page managers (such as Indesign) works fine, apart from the fact that it makes crappy work of JPGs should any be embedded in the CAD file. Plotting individually using high quality PDF settings also works but it's difficult with large sets.
Therefore, I would like to publish a tab set to PDF using the plotter named in page setup. However, what this does, is it forces me to pick the file name and locaiton each time, rather than using the one specified in the publish dialog. Is there a way around this? That is, can I make the named plotter behave like the "DWG to PDF" one (that is, name the files automatically)?
If not, can I make the "DWG to PDF" one not compress JPGS?
As to why - I work in a mac environment and everyone draws in Illustrator. I use CAD and many times, for large projects, need this sort of page management. And every once in a while, I need to insert a rendering into a CAD document and then publish.
Am publishing dwgs / saving as .pdfs / Preview looks good, but when I plot, one line of text appears as series of dots and the error msg from Adobe is close to "Cannot find ArialMT font, some text may not format or print correctly...."
My co-workers have no problem publishing these same dwgs from their workstations, however. Also, there are several text objects / boxes in the dwg, and they all print fine 'except' for the one.
Restarting etc., doesn't make any difference. Neither does plotting in Preview or Draft and so on.
After publishing, the printer icon shows the job is spooling, when i hover over it, it says "publish job in progress". And never changes. The sheet set works fine in 2011. I have tried recreating, updating dwt files, multiple setups, tried using the dialogue box and publish override. Nothing is working.
View 9 Replies View RelatedNew hard drive, had to reinstall LT 2010 (Win XP). Trying to batch plot, going through the normal prompts, little plotter icon in lower right does its thing, then the message says "errors and warnings found". When I open the "plot and publish details", there are no errors or warnings, and the plot file i just attempted does not show up at all. Tried different variations, none work.
The first couple of times i tried it, it seemed there was a problem with the default path for the output file, in the publish options window, as if it could not see the server, but then i would browse, point to the exact same server folder, and it accepted it. Also tried to save the output folder on my c: drive, but still no file. I will need to make this plot file by tomorrow for the client, or i will have to send them 40 individual pdf's.

I cannot remember what the trick is.....i know that it took me a while to perfect my settings the last time i set up a new version, but i am struggling to work it out now.
I find the setting for batch plot not very user friendly at all....
Not sure if I am supposed to specify the PDF printer in the Page Setup or the upper left of the batch plot dialog box.
Also, why is it that every time I open batch plot it loads all the current layout tabs in the drawing (which I dont care about). How do i open batch plot and specify my sheet list and not have to "replace all sheets"/
So when I batch plot I get the name of the drawing file followed by a dash then the tab name. For instance the drawing file is: MSA-01 Plans.dwg and the tab is W-101, when I batch plot I get [MSA-01 Plans - W-101.pdf].
We never had duplicated sheets so I was curious to save the time of me cleaning up the file names everytime, if I could batchplot with just the tab name.
My issue is with the Publish dialogue. I am publishing several sheets to PDF. I do not want layers to be available in the PDF. I shoud be able to control whether or not layers export with the PDF in the "Publish dialogue box > Publish Options > General DWF/PDF options > Layer Information" (then there are two options, either to include or not include layer information). However, when I change it to "don't include" and close out of that box, the main Publish dialogue still shows the layer option as included and the layers are in the PDF after I publish it. why the layers still show up?
View 2 Replies View Relatedhow I can do a batch plot to PDF whilst appending some element to the end of the filename?
Using AutoCAD 2011's batch plot, or TrueView 2014's batch plot the default PDF filename when plotting to PDF appears to be:
<file_name>-<layout_name>.pdf
Which is okay. But I want to append to that the revision of the layout (C1, C2, etc.) which I currently store in a title block as a block attribute value. Any method for somehow pulling this out and including it after the filename such that I could end up with:
<file_name>-<layout_name>-<revision>.pdf
We're currently trying to transition to using the Sheet Set Manager, is the above any easier to achieve using that?
