I change to 'Adobe PDF', then change the properties to ARCH D drawing size and landscape, click OK, save changes to printer config and when it returns to Plot-Model window nothing is changed. We just switched over from Windows XP to Windows7.
I realize it may be a Civil3D question. When I change my drawing scale in the "Drawing Settings" dialog box to 1"=40', for example. The Annotative scale in the Properties Palette changes to 1"=40'_XREF.

A client gave us a file in which the drawing in model space has an orientation wherein the N is in positive y-axis. But if I go to layout (viewport), the orientation of the drawing is different, N is 45 deg from the x-axis. How does the orientation of a drawing in layout (viewport) changed without changing the original orientation of the drawing in model space?

View 4 Replies View RelatedHow can I globally change the CELTSCALE of all objects in my drawing? Using PROPERTIES, I can change one element at a time, but when I choose multiple objects in the drawing at the same time, PROPERTIES does not allow me to change their CELTSCALE to (say) "1". Also, this doesn't appear to be possible using the CHANGE (Properties option) command either. The latter only allows the LTSCALE to be changed (not CELTSCALE).

In the screenshots below, I wanted to mirror the drawing but still I need to have the “text” to the left of the mirrored objects with the same settings and orientation.
Is there a way to do that?
To overcome this particular need, I mirror the drawing in the regular way then playing abit to let the text appears the way I like them to be.

View 9 Replies View RelatedFor once I have to place many asymetric objects uniformly with Alignment along a convex circular arc (2D). So I try Measure or Divide using my Block but it flips my Block so it is aligned with the inside of the curve (closest to the curve centre) not the outside and the blocks are turned upside down. If I draw an arc concave up it plots OK. If I draw a Spline (single curve or reverse curve (S curve) in my desired orientation, it also plots OK.
I have tried all combinations of UCS but to no avail. The block is not dynamic so there has not been any Alignment set.
When we derive sketch from another piece, this is inserted in a fixed location and orientation in our piece. There any way to make changes to this sketch derivative. For example change its location and orientation to fit the geometry created by the sketches of our piece.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I double click on a base view - the option to change view orientation is greyed out. So at the moment, if I make a boo-boo with my base view - I have to delete it and create a new one to get the right orientation. Is this a setting I've missed somewhere - or is it normal behaviour?
When I read in this file: [URL]
It states:
Tip To reset orientation of a drawing view, change the view orientation or rotate the view.
I created a new settings to print some of our drawings, I changed the page orientation from portrait to landscape and saved to a .pmp file (this is the printer settings file), closed the plotter.
I re-opened the plotter, selected the recent .pmp file, went to the orientation part and saw the portrait is in selection instead of landscape selection.

How to (annotate / match orientation) for multiple blocks in the one go ?
I have to alter blocks with alomst every survey dwg I receive whilst at work. Just wondering if there is a quick way to do all blocks in the one go !
Typically at my company we rotate our drawing orientation under the Projects - Drawing Setup - Orientation. Rotate the drawing to a known basis of bearings. Then we label the boundary and the bearings are rotated to match the basis of bearings without having to rotate the drawing in model space. Just reciently my labels havne't been holding the orientation. So when I add a static or dynamic label the bearing reads as though my orientation is due north. BUT, when I loook at the line priperties, the bearing is correct, as it has held the orientation.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI like to attach a .aim or import a inventor DWG into a section and a plan in autocad.
But how do I select the right orientation on import? The default Inventor view is a sideview and won't work on a plan.
Right now it seems like I either have to go into 3D model view and rotate the object or have to change the orientation Inventor for plan and then reorientate it for section...
I accidentally changed its position relative to the object being edited.
P.S I found the hierarchy panel to the right. does it have something to do with this? (I thought i remembered it from a tutorial i used a while ago...)
I fixed it with the hierarchy panel. I clicked pivot in the panel, then affect object only, then center to pivot. this makes the the object stick to the gizmo, bringing it back to default setting (at least im 99% sure that was default.) I thought i had been on the right track.
Its a simple problem. I hope I'm missing some easy option, but no matter how I change the options in the brush dialogue, the brush always has the same orientation to the origin path. See the image below:
The brush is rather large and complex, but I've never seen this happen before. No matter which of the direction buttons are pressed, the brush remains the same. Is there another way to change the orientation with respect to the path?
I love the new versions of Illustrator, but get left in the dust with new innovations that I can't figure out.
I am trying to go to File > Document Setup and all I get is a new dialog box that completely leaves out page orientation and page size as well. I just want to have an artboard that is 11" x 8 1/2" but there is nothing I see in menus or in palettes that give the old comfortable page orientation change that you used to be able to do in older versions of Illustrator. How do I set page or artboard size and orientation?

Is it possible to have a dynamic block with text which, when inserted into a drawing, will show the text orientation matched to the layout? I have a non-dynamic block which is simply a donut and a piece of text. When I insert it into a drawing, the text orientation will change to suit the orientation of the layout. I created another block with the same entities but I also added a couple of lines extending out from the center of the donut. I added stretch and rotation actions in order to rotate and stretch the lines. I also gave the block visibility states so that either one or two lines would appear (the block is a utility pole,by the way, with the lines representing guy wires). When I insert the dynamic block into a drawing, I cannot get the text to match the orientation of the viewport. I've tried changing different combinations of settings but the text won't appear horizontal.
The two blocks I mentioned above are inserted into one file with a number of other blocks. When I check the properties of the non-dynamic block, the "match orientation" is set to YES. I cannot, however, change the "match to orientation" setting to YES on the dynamic block. Is this simply because it is a dynamic block or am I missing something? I don't create a lot of dynamic blocks and therefore I am not a wizard at it so I am assuming I am doing something wrong.
I'm working on a dynamic door, that has specific parameters to change its size and orientation. Everything works pretty good, only the arc for the door won't react the way I want it.
