AutoCAD 2010 :: DWG To PDF - Parts Of Drawing Very Light
Jun 3, 2013
I'm having some problems when using the DWG to PDF. When we open our PDF the parts of our drawings will be very light. It appears that most of the time it is only circles or arcs that are coming up lighter than the specified lineweight. When the PDF is printed everything comes out as desired, but we need good looking digital copies as well.
I found some stuff talking about using the correct CTB and some other things of that nature, but I am pretty new to autocad (and self-taught) so there are several basics things that I probably missed out on and could use some clarification on.
Is there a way to display the density of materials that are assigned to varius parts in the parts list on a drawing? I don't need the mass of the parts I just need the material density to show up next to their respective parts.
For example, if I have a part with [steel mild] material assinged to it (no matter the size) I need a column in the BOM on the drawing to show: 490.684 lbs/ft^3. "Worry when there's something to worry about."
Im having an issue with drawings plotting too light in AutoCAD 2013. Polylines with a specified thickness of 1/32" will print dark, but the rest of the drawing is almost unreadable because it is too light. "Plot with Plotstyles" is selected
I can use 2009 to print, which is also installed on my machine, and the drawing will print as intended.Using the same plot style, same settings in both.
I'm working on a drawing for a part and am getting annoying flickers from light to dark. What I am seeing happening is that everytime I pan or zoom (in or out) the drawing, the drawing lights up, and remains lit up until I move my mouse cursor over a view. When I do so, the entire drawing turns dark and remains dark until I pan/zoom the drawing again. So I am getting a constant dark - light flicker that I find very distracting.
I am only seeing this in this one drawing, however I do remember having this problem previously. In other drawings I have done, they will either be light (which I correspond to being normal) or the entire drawing will be dark. This I read has to do with the lighting in the source part file, but it never really bothered me.
Im on 2012 Iventor Pro, and Windows 7 Pro. 64bit with SP1.
I'm having trouble with plotting out my drawing. The border comes out fine, the text comes out fine, when I draw something manually it comes out fine, however, any item that is a block on the drawing comes out extremely light.
It's not 'xdwgfadectrl' I've tried that, it's set to zero. All the transparencies are set to zero, and it's not just on one drawing, but a few drawings. I have tried multiple ctb files, assuming one wasn't working right, but that didn't work.
It is something that is affecting the blocks alone, causing them to print out extremely light.
When I go into block editor, the actual lines of the block are on layer zero, but I don't think that would affect anything, plus, layer zero isn't set to any type of transparency or fade.
Have a drawing that contains about 200 layers. When I open the layer dialog box, about 50 of the layers are highlighted in light blue. The layers appear to behave normally. Why they are highlighted?
I've attached a DWG and a PDF of a 3D drawing where some of the annotation elements are plotting too light. Other elements, like the Title Block are dark enough but I can't figure out what the difference is.
I know this is based on layer properties, but when I compare the lines and text that print dark on FRAME 070 with the lines that print light on frame DIMS-tbl, I don't see any difference in linetype, lineweight, plotstyle, etc.
The PDF was created with the DWG to PDF.pc3 Printer/Plotter, but I have tried several others and they all produce the results.
How to change the light grey wash in paperspace i still want to have my paper as white and a different colour to the side not an entire white page then it just looks like my modelspace.
In autoCAD tools I am using Device ID to mark my receptacles GFI, WP, and Ect. I am using Light ID to mark my lighting fixtures. The problem is the labels do not match my current text style. These tags also do not work like room tags and other tags I have searched to resolve this issue. The command these tools are grabbing is AECscheduletag. Is there a way to change the text style and size for these tags.
If you review the attached screen shot of a PDF you will see that my Excel spreadsheet object prints very light. This is added to a Paper Space layer that is same layer as the Title Block, which is printing fine. The colorful solid objects are each in their own viewports.
I have set the OLE property "Plot Quality" to "Monochrome", also I have set the "Plot Style Table" to "monochrome.ctb".
To place the spreadsheet table I have Excel open, I select the columns/rows that I want and then Ctrl-C, I flip over to ACAD and Ctrl-V to place the object, I then resize it by dragging its handles. On screen, in ACAD, it looks fine.
I am creating the PDF using "Cute PDF Writer", which does an excellent job creating PDFs from many applications. I don't think it's related to my problem. I have tried ACAD's "DWG To PDF.pc3", but had a similar problem, but worse in other aspects.
I would like to change the color behind the "2D MODEL SPACE" uniform background, too light. Type Config, go to Display tab and then Color, in the Drawing Windows Colors dialog box.
Is it possible to create 'Light painting' or drawing, with PDN. Or is there perhaps a plugin that allows you to do that. Here are some examples of what Light Painting is [the images are too big so I just posted links]: [URL] .....
i am using AC2013LT and have come accross a problem with the printing. I have completed my drawings, converted them to PDF(image 1) and when i print the PDF out, there are parts of the drawing missing as image 2 shows. If i plot direct from autocad, there is no problem with the print.
I have a drawing of tower in 3d, i want to put all the drawing in 2d only so that i can trim some part of the lines, is it possible to put the 3d in 2d in one level only, i mean one axis.
Eventually after I copy and paste with the clipboard enough times within one drawing, the ability goes away and I can no longer copy and past one item from one drawing to a separate drawing. I need to use the clipboard function because that is the only way of getting an item from one drawing to another.
I have download a clear clipboard function but it doesn't work. Closing CAD and restarting does not reinstate the function.
My Autocad has started a new behavior. When (in Win7) I double-click on a drawing file in Windows Explorer, Autocad opens the drawing file and also starts a new drawing, all in the same session of Autocad. Is there some system variable or Windows variable that controls this?
I realize it may be a Civil3D question. When I change my drawing scale in the "Drawing Settings" dialog box to 1"=40', for example. The Annotative scale in the Properties Palette changes to 1"=40'_XREF.
It happens sometimes, when I try to turn off the visibility of a part in a created view, the option is grayed out, can't uncheck visibility. Whats the reason?
I am having an issue with a drawing I have been workign on in Civil 3D. In the drawing I have a corridor and many section views thereof. I was performing some section edits and had been working with two model space viewports so I could keep track of the alignment while performing the edits. When I exitd the section editor, one of my two viewports remained aligned to the section of my corridor, though the view had returned to basic model space. When I switched back to a single viewport, I was left with the one oriented to a section view as opposed to my plan viewport. I reoriented the view to TOP only to find that that most of the drawing, at least visually, is missing. A small portion of my corridor is visible, but appears to have been mostly eaten by some digital goblin.
Similarly, only parts of the overlay I had behind the corridor are visible. I can x-ref the drawing into another drawing and everything is visible. I can copy and paste anything I can manage to select in my drawing into another drawing, where it is also fully visible. I have a couple of profile views who are missing entirely, save their axis and band contents, which I can still see. If i rotate the view one way or another, the amount of visible information changes, but I can't get everything back.
When I zoom in on a drawing, certain parts of the drawing will just disappear. Dimensions, title block, text...it doesn't matter, its different every time. It's not all the time but when it happens it's frustrating. Try dimensioning a part that isn't visible! When I zoom out to a full page view it always returns. When I zoom in again, parts will disappear. See attached screen captures and you will see the same file at different moments.
If I draw a flat square, and then a flat circle next to it, can I do things using iLogic that will make the two seperate parts interact? such as say 'if the circle contacts the square, then make the square become a circle too' or something like that?
I am currently trying to show a comparison of Center of Gravity between two assembly's. One is the original state and the other has counter weight bars. I know how to get the COG to show on my drawings, but both COG locations are the same in my drawings (but different in my assembly) My problem is when I create View Representations and I toggle the Counter Weight bars off, the COG in my drawing still remains in the same location as if they were still on. I know the hard way of accomplishing my task would be to save 2 seperate models (one with Counter Weights and one without). But I would like to take full advantage of the Representation Option. Using IV 2012 Pro.
I am not sure why, but i can't hide few parts in my drawing. I have hidden few parts and saved the view rep. I have called that particular view rep and still I am seeing it the drawing. I am unable to hide it. This is a multi body solid part file. I use INV2012. Win 7
I'm doing a program in Visual Basic 2010. In one of the forms I put a button that when clicked must open AutoCAD 2012 and make a drawing in it. The user will decide where to save it.The steps are these:
1. I added the references Autodesk.AutoCAD.Interop and Autodesk.AutoCAD.Interop.Common to the Visual Basic Project. That's OK.
Dim acadApp As New AcadApplication 'Create an instance of an AutoCAD Application AcadApp.Application.Visible = True 'Show the instance of the AutoCAD Application Dim acadDoc As AcadDocument 'Create an intance of an AutoCAD Document acadDoc = acadApp.Documents.Open("C:Respaldo TesisDibujo2.dwg") 'Open a Document called Dibujo 2 'Draw a line Dim PT1(2) As Double [code].....
I have built a 3D turbine that combined more than 50 3D parts. Now I want an assembly drawings to show our clients how to put those parts together. Any autodesk software? Some people recommended Inventor and I have never used it. Is this a right software to do some kinds like this project?
I'm creating a small product configurator using ilogic. It all works fine, but i've i challenge:controlling the visibility of the components in a drawing view
In simple words, every occurrence of my assembly has an custom Ipropertie calles "Positie". there where 4 values (Bodem, Zij, Kop, Deksel and Overig)In a drawing view i only want to see the parts that has a specific value of the ipropertie "Positie".I found a sample code for VBA, but I cann't get it worked in ilogic.:
Sub HideSecond() 'Assumes you have an open drawing 'Assumes that view 1 of the active sheet is an assembly 'Turns off visibility of assembly's second component in open drawing's first view [code]....
hind to turn this into ilogic and add the option to check the ipropertie to turn on the visibility
