AutoCAD 2010 :: BMP Image Printing Pixelated
Nov 28, 2012
We are using autocad map 3d 2012. and autocad 2000. when printing an old drawing made in autocad 2000 with version 2012 the bmp files that we inserted are printing pixelated almost like a digital camo would look. if we go back to 2000 they print fine. we are using a canon ipf710 printer/plotter.

I also would like to switch to a 2D work space so that I can print. Right now, all 3D images get completely pixelated when I try to print from paper space. How do I create a work space that is 2D so that I can print easier? My co worker has AutoCAD architectural and she can print 3D drawings just fine using her 2D work space.

I am using 7.0. I have this ad that I will be running for my business. when I print it the text is a little pixelate/fuzzy. Not sure how I can go about fixing this. It's not too bad but bad enough. The ad is for a retirement community and I'm concerned with the seniors having issue with reading the text. This ad is going in a news paper. I ran a differant one last year and had the same issue. Even though the message got across to the public, the ad still was not up to how I wanted it.

A customer sent us their label in an AI file. Trying to print this onto a 3 x 1 label (which is small), the output looks pixelated. Looks like the whole thing is a graphic rather than text.
Â
I have attached an image of the label as an example. **Please note that the label is copyrighted. Please do not re-distribute or otherwise print.**

The problem seems very simple. My 'conceptual' or any other visual style viewports plot pixelated, while the legacy wireframe plots perfect. It pixelates everything, linework, edges, fonts.  Of course I could just use wireframe, but then what is the point of visual styles I can't use?
In the same drawing with more than one viewport, the viewport with any visual style other than wireframe will mess up while the other one is fine. I have tried every printer, pdf printer, and all the dpi settings I can get ahold of.Â

I am plotting a file that has a pdf referenced into it. The quality of the plot is degraded only at the inserted pdf. The rest of the AutoCAD file looks fine. The inserted pdf is a printed AutoCAD file which looks clear and even has embedded layers and linework I can snap to (which seems to indicate that there is vector information present when it is in Autocad.
I have attached an image with 4 zoomed-in screen shots to show what I'm describing.

Why, when you downsample a picture (say from 300 to 72 dpi) does it look look pixellated, even though it is scaled down in Indesign and the effective DPI is well over 300.
I am using little icons that are clipped out photos they will be printed at about a quarter inch. These icons are on a bunch of calendars so they are placed in Indesign hundreds of times. Their actual size was originally about 5 inches at 300 dpi -- wayyyy larger than necessary for the final printed size.
Â
I need to downsize them, without have to adjust each one in the ID document as they are already placed. I can do this by downsampling them in PS, from 300 to 72 dpi and not change the dimensions. But when I do this, even though they are so small in the ID document, they still look pixelated.

I have an image that's good quality when small. I want to enlarge the image, however, when I do so, it becomes all pixelated and poor quality. Is it possible to enlarge the image so its still good quality.

I want to create an image with (intentionally) pixelated look. I have an original 12 megapixel image. When I zoom in Photoshop to the area of interest, I see the pixelated look that I want. I can crop an area of interest out of the original image, with the area being around 150 pixel in width. Now I would like to enlarge the size of the image to around 1500 pixel width, but keeping the pixelated look. And this is the part I do not know how to do. The interpolation algorithms in the Image Size tool do not produce the right effect - I want some algorithm which just clones each pixel by a factor of 10.

I was working on a project and I did a very silly mistake with the measurements.
Â
The mistake: Lets say that instead of doing 5 cm I did 5 mm
What I did: Scale the entire art by 1,000%
Result: Looks perfect on the screen and it is the accurate size.
Â
-> The Problem: Now when I export it to JPG or other format it comes out pixelated. I even tried increasing the resolution to 2,400 dpi (I think it is the highest but it is still pixelated)
Â
I'm new to illustrator, but since all the art is vectorized I thought I could change the scale as I pleased and still have a neat image on both the screen and when I export.

i was doing a school project and somehow by the time i was done with my design, all my smooth, 3D objects were all pixelated. Is this what happens when you "rasterize" it?

I have been mocking up an image on Photoshop, the final image basically consists of a variation of placed images. Whenever I zoomed in, one small part of the image wouldn't load properly and instead be pixelated. Usually it would go away once I either zoomed in or out a step further. But now it has just remained there and I have a pixelated strip that won't go away.
Â
I'm not too sure why this may have occurred? This is a small screenshot of the strip:

I made an image for the Ironshop comp. and I made it just a tiny bit too big. I figured out the hard way that you also get quality loss when you scale an image down. My specs are 4454px. x 3345px., 61" x 46", and 72 ppi. I understand that my image should be 800px. x 600px., and Ive tried to up the pixels per inch, but it ends up very pixelated and jaggy.

I have a photo which was originally approx 150mm x 90mm
I had to resize this to nearly half its original size and it looked decent. I then saved the image as a tiff and placed it in illustrator. It still looked decent in Illustrator until i printed. when it was printed it turned out a little pixelated.
Why is it that when resizing (shorter than original) images pixelate and how can i eliminate this. Also what can i do so to avoid the problem when printing in illustrator.
I mean I always replicate most artwork via vectors in illustrator but photos as you all know can only be transferred across

I am using Photoshop Elements 4.0 to add color to some images that were hand drawn and have been scanned in as pdf's. When done, they will be enlarged to poster size (18 in x 24 in). I have tried to save them in a variety of formats, but every time I do, they come out very pixelated when they print in poster size. (The originals look fine in the larger size.) how to maintain the image quality so they will look decent when they are enlarged to print?

I originally created an image in Illustrator and transfered it to Photoshop so i can change the hues. Now I want to take that Photoshop file and transfer it back to Illustrator but the the edges on the object are very jagged and rough whilst the object in Photoshop is smooth and the transition of gradients is smooth.

I'd like to write an article for my blog about increasing the size of the images without getting it blurred or pixelated.
I usually use a combination of facet and despeckle to improve the resolution of the oversized image.
I've also tried a plugin that supposedly resizes the images and worked on a fractal based concept, but to be honest the results were not very convincing.

Ive tried downloading some brush sets and applying them in PS. The only problem is that the edges of the brushes look blurred when the sizes are increased and are no way as sharp as on the examples attached.
The pixelated blocks of colour and edges of the photos are so sharp they could be bitmapped?
Could these kind of effects be created in an image/border effect program ie something like Extensis Photo Frame?

We are having a print server in which HP DJ Z6200 printer is attached and shared. Nearly 200 users (with Win 7 64bit) are using this plotter. There are few other HP plotters also attached on this print server.
While trying to print any drawing from this HP DJ Z6200 printer, AutoCAD is showing below mentioned error -
None:This plotter configuration cannot be used for one of these reasons: the driver cannot be found, the evice can not be found or the device has a problem. The none plot device has been substituted.
After several googling & digging into the AutoCAD forums I have found that we need to create .PC3 file for this plotter. But while trying to do so, getting the same error message as mentioned. But from the same system, with any other application (MS Word, Excel, Acrobat), we are able to print on the same plotter. After several tryout, we have managed to create a .PC3 file from an Windows XP system. By copying that .PC3 file to affected system, printing is working fine. But its a work around for us as its very difficult to copy-paste .PC3 file for all the users (around 200 or more from different locations).

So my pluming layer is on and "no plot" is NOT selected, yet when I plot, it does not show up? It was working fine last week and i don't think has been saved since then. Also, the xref prints on other sheets, except this one so i'm thinking there is a difference in the page setup but I dont see any discrepancies.

I am having an issue printing to scale. When I print my drawings, the scale is about 4" over 100' out of scale (short) All of the settings are correct for plotting. This happens whether we print directly or to a pdf first. I know it is not just the plotter as I have tried three different printers with the same result. Also, I know it is not AutoCad as we are having the same issue printing from Microstation. I

I have lots of DWG files which I would like to convert to PDF. I guess this is not difficult at all with Scriptpro. However, I would like to know how to: Include in the script file (.SCR)Â a .CTB file so that the print is made in that way.
Create a Job so that Scriptpro runs once a day over all the .DWG files located in 1 directory. Is all these possible? I can use either Windows XP 32 bit, Windows 7 32bit and Windows 7 64 bit. My version o Autocad Mechanical is 2011.
