View 9 RepliesI have reinstalled my operating system twice, after complete format, and both times when I have tried to install Photoshop 7.0 I get an error message; "Component Move Data Error Info, Media name: Data, Component: App-Photoshop, File Group: App-PS, File: photoshop.exe, Error Number: -106 (refer to online help)" which prevents me from reinstalling Photoshop 7.0!
I tried installing on another computer in my house, and the installation was flawless. I am having no problems reinstalling my other programs. On the 2nd of the above re-installs, I did it in the safe mode after deleting all the *.tmp files (and others) as recommended in a forum with Photoshop 7.1 update.
I have requested technical support from Adobe using their online system. I'm supposed to receive a response within 24 hours. I've used this system once before for Adobe Premiere Pro, and got good results, so hope I will again.
Just received PSE 11, want it on my desktop and then move PSE 9 from desktop to laptop? It there a sequence that will prevent problems?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a large picture that has ballpoint ink written on part of it. I had no trouble getting the background edited since it was basically the same color. I did end up cloning two different parts of the background and covering it twice to get a blended effect which worked great.
The problem is facial tones. There is ink covering the neck area on the left and the right and the head is at an angle. I haven't been able to pick a color or gradient that works. I tried to clone a different area of the face but that didn't work either. Then I zoomed way in and got each square (pixel?) to show up but it would take me hours to color in each one and there isn't any part of the neck that isn't covered in ballpoint ink so I can't even pick the right skin color/tone.
I downloaded a Gimp program but honestly since I don't know what all those tools are, I don't know which one to use to get it right so I'm hoping someone here can say "use this for this and that for that" so I don't have to trial and error each tool/effect.
Or, if there's another free photo editing program that's easier to use, point me in that direction.
I'm modelling a character and I created the neck and now I want to connect it to the head but the problem is, he only allows me to weld some vertex, it's like he doesn't want both elements to share a edge or face, only vertex!(and yes, I attached the two elements).
when I want to create a face with those vertex he says: "illegal face" or something.
I want to add a extra section on to the top of the Volute neck so i can keep a perfect shaped circle for the flange i will place on top.How can i add the extra section that retains the perfect circle and also flat across the top for a flange i will place on top..Using Inventor 2012

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have recently set up a new PC with pretty high end specs and have noticed Inventor still doesnt perform as expected, i am using maybe 5% of my 64gb ram and 10-20% of my i7 4ghz CPU.
We are using a network vault and the content center is stored on the vault, using frame generator i have noticed significant performance problems (considering these specs)
Could it be a bottle neck in the Server?
(latest service pack for Inventor 2013 installed) 64 bit machine.

I have CS2 Premium which I'm running on an older PowerPC Mac (G5 - Dual 2.3 GHz ) running OS 10.4.11. I've had this setup for many many years (registered/activated with Adobe) but suddenly one day I could no longer launch my Photoshop app: when I clicked on the Pshop icon it would start the launch (open) procedure ... and then almost instantly it would quit (in just a few seconds ... before the application even got to the 'title/credit' screen).
I've recently tried uninstalling CS2 (everything except Acrobat) and I ended up doing a manual uninstall of Version Cue. I've been on Macs for 20+ years so figured this would be a pretty straightforward procedure - uninstall -> reinstall and then back to work. Nope.
I'm attempting a fresh installation direct from the original CS2 CDs. In any event, when I try to (re)install CS2 - and after going through the standard screens with Adobe's usage terms agreement and installation hard disk selection - I arrive at the screen where one selects which application(s) to install by checking the various boxes (or alternately, to install the entire suite) but the 'Adobe Photoshop CS2/Adobe ImageReady CS2' line and checkbox are grayed out, so it will not allow me to check them and continue with the Photoshop installation process.
How do I re-install AI CC after it's been uninstalled because the initial install was corrupt? AI isn't availbale for download again in the app section of CC.

Also, if I have layers inside a folder and try to move one of those layers, the entire folder is selected and all layers within that folder move.
I have not grouped any layers together.
I'm using Mac OS 10.4.8 with PS 9.0.1

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo a friend created a model using zbrush and exported several different *.OBJ files. I imported those to maya and added shaders. They all fit correctly together when imported.
some of those obj files required me to do a mesh->combine. so now it appears that not every item has the same reference point so that when I move or scale the entire item, some of the objects move seperately. I think it is only the ones I had to combine.
I tried freeze transformations, but when doing that, some of the objects lost their scale settings and still didnt move together as one unit.
I am using the trial version of CS5 (probably going to upgrade at the end of the trial), and I've only found one thing about it that I don't like more than CS3. This is VERY VERY annoying, and I'm not sure if it's a glitch, or just a preference that needs to be reset:
When using the move tool, I will move something and it will just snap back to where it originally was. When it snaps back, it might move a few pixels over in the direction I was dragging, but it is definitely not moving to where I want it to go. The only way to get things to move the way I want to is by Free Transform...but it's annoying, when you're trying to design a layout, to have to free transform every element you want to move, first.
I'm guessing that this is a glitch because sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't...it's pretty random. I've tried turning Snap on and off, and nothing changes.
What happened to the option/enter command in the move object dialog that has been around since the early days of Illustrator??? Instead of having to mouse click the "copy" button in the move object window, one could just hold down option with Return or Enter and the Copy command would happen rather than a simple move. Immensely useful for prepress work!

I signed up for the photo suite, lightroom + photoshop, today. Had no problems at all with lightroom but when photoshop had "downloaded" it said the file was damaged or incomplete. Nothing happened during the install, comp stayed on.. So I am a bit baffled on what happened and how I can fix it. When I go to adobe's site to the download screen for photoshop it just tells me after I click the link that I already have it.
