Only recently discovered this Forum and the existence of three patches which I have downloaded. However, all three refuse to install giving me the message:
"The installed version of the application could not be determined. The setup will now terminate".
The original DVD is in the drive and the Volinfo. text is definitely on it.
Are there any pros/cons in deciding if I should uninstall VS Pro X4 before installing X5?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have installed and am using Corel VideoStudio Pro X4. Can I install Corel VideoStudio Pro X6 on the same computer so that both versions are working at the SAME TIME, WITHOUT CONFLICTS due to both versions being installed on the same computer?? My OS is windows 7 and my HP desktop has an Intel I7 processor.
For that matter, can I install the demo version of VideoStudio Pro X6 without causing conflict with my existing VideoStudioPro X4?
I bought Corel Video Studio and installed it on my desktop PC a while back. After installation, I only start it up to see what VS looks like.
Now I am considering putting it on my laptop. I have been searching for info if I am allowed to do that but I came up empty.
I downloaded the first GetMore font pack and when you go to open the exe file it pops up this. You have to click one of the three , Modify, repair , or Remove. Where to go from the section and how to install the fonts.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having troubles with 2 of the Bonus/Extra Content packages: Bonus Content (first one that appears in the "Do More" screen) and Newblue TitlerFX All others I have downloaded installed with no trouble at all but these two keep popping up After I close VS6 and attempt to install but give an error (only flashes) but reads:
Can not determine install directory of X5
I have never had X5, purchase nor trial, installed so I don't know why it keeps attempting to install there (as stated, all other content installed fine) and I don't know where to find the downloaded installs to get rid of them (however I would prefer to get them installed)

I have Boris Graffiti 5.2 and would like to run it from Corel VS ProX4. which folder in the VS ProX4 directory I should install the plugin file.
During installation of Graffiti 5.2 I chose the "plugin" folder but this does not appear in the VS ProX4 workspace. I understand from video tutorials that Graffiti 5.2 locates itself in the FX panel. The plugin file has a .prm extension.
I've previously paid for 3D Explosions from NewBlue and just today activated and installed the effects. They don't, however, show up in my FX file. I don't know why, and need to use them. How to get them to appear and be usable in VSX4? Do I have to find them somewhere and manually put them in the program file?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI installed the 30-day trial version of VideoStudio Pro X5 (VSX5_Pro_TBYB.exe (1 431 816 336 bytes) from [URL] on my new Windows 8 laptop. Everything seemed to work fine until i started to experience problems with "hanging splash screen" during start-up. To solve this, I uninstalled VS Pro X5. Now, I am not able to re-install the software.
The installation seems to work OK until the EUL-screen. When checking "I accept the terms...", and pressing the Next-button, nothing happens.
I've tried (with no luck):
* Manually uninstalling/removing according to this
* Created a local new user and tried to install X5 on this
* Checking "zombie" security issues according to this
Don't bother checking the specs on my profile, as this post is about another computer.I just have two questions for now to try and minimize time to correct the problem.
Question 1: Can the VSPro X2 Windows 7 compatibility patch be installed before installing the program?
Question 2: Should compatibility mode be tried before installing a compatibility patch? Or should the compatibility patch be installed first?
Background: I have Service Pack 1 and have already downloaded the VS Pro X2 compatibility patch for Windows 7 (UVS125_Win7_Patch.exe [URL]
I bought VSP X2 a couple of years ago for daughter( living in another location) using Win XP at the time. Now she has Windows 7 notebook, and when she tries to install VSP X2 she gets an error something like this: "application incorrect...xstrace.exe" (I am in process of trying to get exact error message) Device information: Will get if needed.Program version: VSPro X2Patches/updates that have been installed. Daughter has SP1 but not installed yet because she cannot install the main program. As noted above I have downloaded and sent her the Windows 7 compatibility patch, but need to know if she can install it before installing the program.
I am getting “Error: 4 – Corel VideoStudio files have been damaged or modified. Please reinstall your original source.” with VS Pro X6 trial download. Install runs normally. But when I try to run the software, I get the above error immediately.
Things I have tried:
- Uninstalled from control panel, followed by cleanup tool (VSX4_Cleanup. Is there a more recent version for X5 or X6 ?)
- Deleted the Setup Files folder “Corel VideoStudio Pro X6 Setup Files”, and cleared TEMP files. Rebooted
- Downloaded installer again and repeated install. Rebooted. Tried to run. Same Error
- Confirmed “Protexis Licensing V2” service is running
- No prior version of the software was ever installed on this system
- Running Win 7 Pro x64 SP1. Thinkpad T420 with integrated graphics.
I have already installed Service Pack 2 for VS x4 pro. I somehow missed Service Pack 1. Can I still install SP1 now, without uninstalling the whole application? I don't know whether it may be necessary to install them chronologically.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got VS Pro X3 yesterday and installed it from the disk. All went fine, but there is a menu option on the disk for "Bonus Contents". When the menu option is clicked, it displays three sub-categories - Audio Clips, Image Clips, & Video Clips. When each of those sub-categories is clicked it opens a Windows Explorer window showing the contents of the folder on the install disk. I can't find anywhere that these clips got installed onto my PC.how do I install this Bonus Content, so that VS X3 can use it? If I just copy it to my hard drive, what folder to I place it into?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using VideoStudio Pro Ultimate 6 and it offers me certain Menu Packs and Title Packs, but when I try to install I get the message "Installed Version of the application could not be determined. Setup will terminate". All of the single Title packs install without a hitch, but several of the packages will not. At a lost of how to troubleshoot this and wonder have others here experienced anything similar or same. I was thinking because I upgraded from Version 4 ultimate and never got 5 because I got Mercalli and ProDad with the Ultimate upgrade in Version 4, that maybe it is looking for version 5. Other than that supposition, I am at a lost.

---first, I am NOT referring to the "extra" templates, etc. you download after the program is installed... (the vpt files) -- I understand how to install these & already have them installed properly
---I have a VS X4 DVD... the program from this DVD is installed on my desktop... I also just installed it on my on my laptop since I will need to work on my projects on the laptop for awhile
---When I opened the program on the laptop, I discovered many Instant Project templates there I don't have on my desktop [in the "beginning", "middle", "end" categories... After quite a bit of comparing & searching, I believe these were never installed on my desktop for some reason! [I found the file names on the laptop, but they are nowhere to be found on my desktop]
---I tried opening the program DVD to install them from there, but it's not obvious to me where they are...
These Instant Project templates would really be useful to me --
1) why did they install on the laptop but not on the desktop
2) how can I get them installed on my desktop WITHOUT uninstalling and re-installing the program? Is there an "easy solution?" I don't want to risk losing all of the other extras I already downloaded, etc. & needing to start all over!
One file which is part of one of the templates is called "HM_Multioverlay track 01_Start.wmv" ----- On my laptop, it resides in the C:Program Files (x86) CorelCorel Video Studio Pro X4en-USEditing StyleStyleBeginningNTSC26_HM_MultiOverlay track01.wvs [this can't be found on my desktop]
I have CS2 Premium which I'm running on an older PowerPC Mac (G5 - Dual 2.3 GHz ) running OS 10.4.11. I've had this setup for many many years (registered/activated with Adobe) but suddenly one day I could no longer launch my Photoshop app: when I clicked on the Pshop icon it would start the launch (open) procedure ... and then almost instantly it would quit (in just a few seconds ... before the application even got to the 'title/credit' screen).
I've recently tried uninstalling CS2 (everything except Acrobat) and I ended up doing a manual uninstall of Version Cue. I've been on Macs for 20+ years so figured this would be a pretty straightforward procedure - uninstall -> reinstall and then back to work. Nope.
I'm attempting a fresh installation direct from the original CS2 CDs. In any event, when I try to (re)install CS2 - and after going through the standard screens with Adobe's usage terms agreement and installation hard disk selection - I arrive at the screen where one selects which application(s) to install by checking the various boxes (or alternately, to install the entire suite) but the 'Adobe Photoshop CS2/Adobe ImageReady CS2' line and checkbox are grayed out, so it will not allow me to check them and continue with the Photoshop installation process.

I signed up for the photo suite, lightroom + photoshop, today. Had no problems at all with lightroom but when photoshop had "downloaded" it said the file was damaged or incomplete. Nothing happened during the install, comp stayed on.. So I am a bit baffled on what happened and how I can fix it. When I go to adobe's site to the download screen for photoshop it just tells me after I click the link that I already have it.
