I am trying to LOFT multiple ellipse shapes along a spline path to create a door handle. But as soon as I choose 1 section, MAX creates the shape. I cannot figure out how to create the shape with multiple cross sections. I have attached a screen shot and a pic of the door handle I want to create.
I working on a deadline with little sleep, but I cannot believe it is this hard to get an overhead door to look right. All I want is a 1" thick frame, the same depth as the wall AND the door slab to be INSIDE the frame like a real overhead door.
The attached PDF shows the standard OH door on the left with the stupid door centered in the frame. The door on the right is one I created by inserting a cased opening in the wall, then manually drawing a rectangle and dashed line for the OH swing. All I am interested in is getting this right in plan at this point. Using Architecture 64 bit.
I have ACAD Arch 2012 and I am trying to associate my door tags with my door schedule and visa versa. I get as far as creating the Door Schedule with all the doors on it and quantified just the way you would want to see it; however, the "Mark" remains "A" for every door. I discovered that I can change the Mark on the extended properties of each door, but I believe there should be a better (and more linked) way to accomplish this. Since the program already recognizes how many doors there are of a specific style it should be able to put sequential "marks" to each door, for example "A", "B", "C", etc.
what's the difference between Door Tags - Project Based and regular Door Tags?
--Is there a way to do a door schedule by styles rather than individual door?
--To clarify: I want my door schedule to create a new door number only when one or more of the property sets, classifications, or door styles pertaining to a door are not defined by other doors in the schedule. This would facilitate giving the same door number to multiple doors that have matching schedule information, and cut down on my schedule size.
--how to do this. If I need to create custom tags, schedules, or formula properties.
How can the dimensions for the system family door be shown in the door schedule?
I tried to make a instance paramater, type parameter, both through shared parameter for the doors in the family file, but they are still not showing up.
I have a lot of RAW+JPG pictures (shot as RAW+JPG or previously converted from RAW to JPG with other programs), when importing them to Lightroom, I can choose to treat them as the same picture or as separate pictures.
At first glance, they should of cause be treated as the same picture (because they are the same picture), and they do indeed appear as "RAW+JPG" in LR, but how do I:
- View the JPG? (not critical, but it would be nice to be able to compare the JPG with the LR results)- Add metadata (tags, title, caption, etc.) to the JPG file and not just the RAW file? (I have enabled "write metadata to file")
If treated as separate pictures, they behave as one would expect, but it is not that convenient to have two of the same pictures side-by-side.
- Can I auto-stack RAWs and JPGs?- Can I write metadata (tags, title, caption, etc.) to the entire stack in one go?
1. I need JPG versions of my pictures for e-mail, web, viewing on my TV etc.
2. I REALLY don't want to be dependent on LR in the future. If I have spend hours and hours fine tuning my pictures, and only have them saved as RAW, I would need LR till the day I die. And it doesn't end there, my kids, my grand kids and so on, would also need LR to view the pictures (at lease in the quality I would like them to be viewed).
I noticed that when I open a 16bit ppm in GIMP 2.8, the file opens without the 'gimp can't handle 16bit, it will loose data, etc...' notification. But if I open a tiff version of the very same raw file, the notification does pop up. My understanding is that current GIMP 2.8 can't handle 16bit, regardless of file format. Is that right?
How do I get the recovery slider to show up in ACR? When I open an image there is no recovery slider under my exposure slider. When I open images previously edited in Photoshop Elements the slider appears in CS6 ACR. I want it there all the time as default.
Can I zoom into the time slider? When moving keys using the time slider they do not go to the frame I would like because the my current length is 3000 frmaes. The frames just won't snap to each indivual frame so they can be placed properly.
I'm wondering if you can zoom into the time slider, so all 3000 frames are not visible across the bar. If you could zoom in to, say, only have a couple hundred frames showing in the time slider, the snapping when dragging keys would be more accurate.

I would like to paint on a clip I generated from a still. Now I can´t use the OnionSkins and if I paint my brushstroke ,is on the whole clip not only the first frame.
For editing a jpeg file (e.g., sharpening), first I create a duplicate layer. Now, I have two layers: Layer 1 and Background layers. Editing is done only on the duplicate layer. That's how I am able to keep the original jpeg file. When editing is completed on Layer 1, I got to save the edited image. Before saving it, what should I do with the Background layer? Should I delete it or merge/flatten with Layer 1?
I need to connect to specific instances of AutoCAD and Plant3D. The Running Object Table (ROT) only holds one instance so GetObject wont work.
I've tried getting the correct instance using the hwnd with the AccessibleObjectFromWindow function. I'am thinking the easiest way is to autoload a plugin to communicate with, maybe through a service.
I have this issue with my ik handles. in the tutorials I watch their IK's are always perfectly straight. Mine area always crooked. I'm sure it has something to do with the orientation of my joints, but why are my joints messed up? even if I reorent them it doesn't work.
Recently I have been modeling a dock with cranes and a container yard. Everything is going fine until I decided change the boxes -solid primitive- that represent the containers for a more detailed container model, also wish to change the color of these individually.
I've tried to simply copy/paste several container models, but the file became huge and the AutoCad performance is deeply affected. So I try inserting blocks of these models with the same effect, even I tried to convert the container model to a brep before paste in my overall model, in order to keep the file manageable, but no much difference.
How can i get what I want? Lot of containers (3270 more or less) who being capable of change their color randomly and individually.
I have an application that saves the handle of some geometry on a DB.
The geometry is limked with database information, and each time the drawing is open the data is loaded to application via a Handle.
I used the Handle, because the is persistent, but one time when I open the drawing, the applications says the data doesn't match the drawing, I check it and it was the same drawing, when defining again the geometry I realize the handle had change.
I don't know why this happens, I only save and close the drawing. Is there some point the handles need to be recycled on the application?
Or what could happen that changed the handlers of the drawing.
It only happen one time, in one drawing, but I don't know if it can happen again.
How can I draw a furniture handle in 3D. I drew handle using polyline and trying to convert it to 3D but I am being prompt that objects are not planner.
I was sent a complex illustrator file recently that contained a lot of distress patterns and points that is basically impossible to work with. It takes 10-15 seconds just to select or deselect any of the objects. I'll I need to do is move the art around a little and resize stuff, but it's taking ages with the lag. I'm using CC on Windows 7 64bit. What options are there to work around this? Is there a way to tell Illustartor to stop rendering, so I can just move stuff around without it lagging so bad? I thought the new engine was supposed to be faster and better at rendering.
I have a set of process color swatches which I defined as LAB colors. I use them mostly in InDesign. This morning I opened them as a swatch library in Illustrator for the first time. The CMYK numbers are significantly different from what they are in InDesign. Both documents have the same color management policies/rendering intent. I know that there is no "LAB mode" in Illustrator but I'm surprised that it translates the LAB>CMYK in a different fashion than does InDesign. I guess the solution would be to remake my swatches defining them as CMYK colors. However, that somewhat defeats my original plan: define the swatches in LAB so they will get translated as accurately as possible in different programs.I'm using CS4 on a Mac.
