Revit :: How To Change The Numerical Value Of A Dimension
Mar 29, 2013I was wandering while doing a project of some construction elements if there is any way in Revit that I can change the numerical value of an dimension not with the text but with different value ? and at the same time I don't want Revit to rescale my elements. Something like in AutoCAD that I can type in any number I want and Revit won't rescale i or change the distance between them.
I know that I could simply use AutoCAD instead of Revit but I find it easier in general and I really want to learn it since I'm a student.

Jul 11, 2011Often we have to re-type the same number (value) in the command line. Not the point coordinate triplet, but a single number as input, for example in Move Copy command.
I always wonder if there is a trick in AutoCAD to recall the previously typed-in number quickly and easily (apart from Ctrl+C Ctrl+V method).
Microstation does it very conveniently by pressing up and down arrows in Accu-draw dialog, and even places a graphical mark on the screen when cusor moves over the previously entered value.

Sep 13, 2013in 2000 I was able to discover a command that allowed you to renumber a large selection of blocks in order. I have been searching for that command again every time I need to renumber a floor plan due to the addition of new spaces. What this command was and if it is still available in 2010? It would save a ton of time!

Photoshop Elements :: 11 - Scanned Files Not Put In Numerical Order
May 27, 2013I am scanning a large number of negatives using VueScan. Vuescan automatically creates the digital files in numerical order (if you use the proper settings) as they are scanned and places them in the proper folder. The process of scanning the negatives takes several days. Upon opening PSE 11, all the files should be in numerical order as created, but at times, PSE 11 will put today's files (say numbers 400 - 500) near the top of the list (like 001, 400, 401 etc, then 002, 003 etc) What is wrong? At other times everything is correct. Is there a way to correct this?

May 16, 2013In autoCAD 2013 i have a sequence of multiple text fields e.g. (MP01, MP02, MP03, MP04..etc) i need to alter the numbers to other numbers. I used a command a few months ago but i cant remember what is was called! It selected the x/y direction and incremented the existing sequence to my chosen sequence (just incrementing the last numerical bits and leaving the text the same). Ive tried TCOUNT command and i couldn't get that to work with the text fields.

Currently I have a command in drawing express that increases the door number each time I paste it to allow easy door/window numbering with a prefix. We tend not to create window or door schedule from these we just need to be able to number them quickly without editing the text manually each time.

If I do not have super elevation, I want it to use the grade for the in the input.output parameters. If I do have super elevation, I want it to use the super settings. So far I have this

This works if I am only creating a left side. However, I want it to decide which side super elevation settings by the input parameter side.
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: How To Select A Profile Used In Expression
Mar 15, 2012One of the main things I do is label elevations from an alignment and a profile, in plan view.
I have a style that does this, and it gets to the point where it asks to pick the profile.
If the profiles are data ref's, i can pick from a list, but if the alignment is xreffed, you must do a graphical pick.
This is super inconvenient, as my profile views are in a different base than my alignments, and they are way off to the side.
So I must xref the profile base in, and split my viws so I can pick them without excessive zooming.
Did Autodesk neglect the fact that if they make objects available via xref, they also need to make child objects available?
If I choose to use a dref as the data source, I must make a dref to the alignment and each profile I want available.
Three steps per street at a minimum.
This is also super inconvenient.
I'm struggling to find a decent workflow on this. Both approaches seem painful.
I had always thought the xreffed objects would provide the profiles, and only found they do not just now [URL]...
AutoCAD Inventor :: Expression In IPart Table
Nov 27, 2011Having this issue with IE9? I have a table driven iPart that has an expression in the description field. The expression is =PL <THICK> x <WIDTH>, so that as the thickness and width change the description of this plate also changes. I have recently added rows to this part for the use of bar instead of plate on certain shapes. In order for the bar description to match standard steel shape nomenclature the expression on these parts needs to be =BAR <WIDTH> x <THICK>. How can I add the description to the iPart table so that I can simply edit the bar parts to be as needed?
Some things to note:
1.) These are custom iParts so when the item is inserted you select the thickness, file name, save location, etc.
2.) There are about 705 lines to this iPart right now and I would prefer not to go higher.
3.) I would like to keep these as the same iPart instead of having two different files.
4.) I need the description to be an expression because long after these parts are placed, they sometimes change and I need the dimensions to update after the fact like all our other parts (so don't forget that these one won't and then the drawings are incorrect).

3ds Max Animation :: Expression To Create Progressive Morph Rig?
Mar 22, 2013I have created an object (Tube012) that i am trying to use as a rotational control mechanism / rig to move some vertices (morphed spline 012) through a series of progressive morph targets.
i have created morph targets that work as key framed morphs but when i change these to progressive morphs and try to drive with an expression nothing is happening.
The work i am doing is largely based on the great work of Ruramuq and Harvey from the thread "Rigging a wave (3D's Max)" Not sure why. I have file from Ruramuq and have tried to replicate his technique. Everything works well in his file so all i need to do is replicate. The answer is in here but i cant tell what the difference is between his and mine.

Dec 22, 2013I have two questions on animating 2D text. First, is there a way to randomize the actual text, as you can do in AE? For example, I have a string of numbers, le's say "24234" and I'd like them to change randomly over time. Second, I'd like the text to flicker on and off, but on regular intervals, such as every frame it would alternate from 0% opacity to 100% opacity. I was thinking of doing this with an expression that would simply evaluate the frame, and outout 0 or 1 depending on whether the frame is even or odd.

I even changed a style that "HAD" allowed me to use an expression, to a number then tried to reenter the same expression name that was there and get "Invalid Input".

Paint Shop Pro :: Expression Web 4 Color Coding For Any JavaScript Has Gone
Nov 20, 2011I found all of the javascript on my Expression Web 4 project coding had lost its color coding. All the text was black.It doesn't matter if the code is in a js file or in a html page.I tried, Tools > Page Editor Options... and Color Coding Tab, going to, and changing Display items called "Script ??????". But it doesn't fix it.
The only one that seems to work is "Script Identifier", and that changes all of the script to one color.Later in September I did a bit more.
I went to System Restore and restored my computer to a date two weeks previous.This fixed the problem. Color Coding for JS files in EW4 returned.I then started to install the Windows Updates and Programs that where installed in this period, until the problem came back. (Color Coding for JS files disappeared.)
The problem seemed to come on when I install Corel Paintshop Pro X4 (trial Version).At the same time I installed PSP X4, DirectX was installed. I don't know if PSP X4 had anything to do with the DirectX install.
If I uninstall PSP X4, the problem still remained with EW4.The only way to restore the problem with EW4 was to use System Restore again and restore to the state before the DirectX Install.
Today 20th November I did some more testing.Again my color coding for javascript went back to black.
I've had a couple of Windows 7 updates recently, (KB917607, KB 2607576 and also SP3 for Microsoft Office 2007) not sure if this bought the problem back on.
Apart from many other programs, I have:
Expression Web 4
Corel Paint Shop Pro X4
Corel Video Studio Pro X4
Today I thought I would do a bit more testing. I reloaded PSPX4 using file PSPP_X4_PF.exe This caused the color coding for javascript to go black.
I thought, what if I reload it again on top of the existing file. BUT I accidentally reloaded Video Studio X4 (File VSX4_Pro_TBYB.exe) Running this file a second time (File VSX4_Pro_TBYB.exe), actually asks if you want to remove Video Studio X4. I said no and cancelled.Now I went back to EW4 and the color coding for Javascript had miraculously re appeared.
When I reboot the PC and go to EW4 javascript, the color coding has gone.When I run Video Studio X4 (File VSX4_Pro_TBYB.exe) a second time and do the cancel, the color coding comes back.
I can do this any amount of times,
Reboot - no color.
Reload VSX4 - color returns.
Reboot - no color.
Reload VSX4 - color returns.
Something seems to get loaded on the initialising of VSX4.

Sep 6, 2013I am trying to make a single point label style that will return a blank line in the label if no data is provided.
The way i have it coded now my label for a structure with only two inverts comes out looking like this:
STCB 500 Rim=300.00
12" CONC N IE=295.00
12" CONC S IE=296.00
IE=300.00
IE=300.00
I would like the number of lines returned to match the actual number of inverts in the structure and leave out the place holders.:
STCB 500 Rim=300.00
12" CONC N IE=295.00
12" CONC S IE=296.00
I can work around this by having a label style for each number of pipes, but i would also like this code to be inseted into a table style and in that case i don't know of any way to assign multiple styles to one table.

The problem is that 1 INV-4 INV are being defined by an expression that reads like
{Point Elevation}-{1 MD}
so when no data is intered for my UDP "1 MD" it returns the point elevation. I want an equation that says if rpoitn elevation -measure down=point elevation then no data is shown.

I added a reference text component to my label style that shows the profile elevation. Where would I find the expression for the profile elevation reference text?

Nov 11, 2011Using expressions/formulas in a dynamic block. I want to create a dynamic flat truss with webbing, where you can select the number of V webbs and as your stretch the length of the truss the vees stretch accordingly. With the array parameter, you seem to be limited to predefining a spacing and the number of instences increases as you stretch the object. I want to set the number of instences and let the spacing change. In particular I have tried using the Parameters Manager to create a user parameter that takes the lenght of the truss and divides it by a number. When I try this AutoCAD gives me "A dependent expression cannot be evaluated" It appears that all of the Action Parameters cannot be used in expressions which really limits things.

Aug 31, 2012I know I can use the expresion "$(getvar,ctab)" to reference the current layout tab name but is there a way to reference say the layout in previous or next tab in reference to the current tab. I am doing some plan and profile drawings which contain match lines I would like to have the match line text automated. For example if I'm on layout called PP02 there would be two match lines in the drawing one would read MATCH LINE PP01 and the other would read MATCH LINE PP03 I would like to automate this so the PP01 of PP02 is referencing the previous or next tab.
