I just downloaded 3ds Max 2011 and am trying to add a background to my scene, but I have a problem - there are no presets or images in the "Documents/3dsMax/sceneassets/images" folder. Is there a pack I need to download in addition to the program?
View 3 RepliesSo sometimes you want to just import everything on a card into LR in one go, and then move it around later (like when you shoot 2 jobs in day, but you need to have the files in separate folder).
At the moment I have to import into LR, come out of LR into explorer and move the files, then reassociate them in LR. I would be nice If you could just import an empty folder and them move the files within LR
Running Macbook Pro, OS 10.8.4.Trying to import abouth 65 images from a folder on my desktop. I can clearly see the folder and all the images in Finder, so I know they're there.
However, in LR4 the folder in question is ghosted (others are not), with no contents at all. Note: I have heard of a PNG/XMP image issue with this problem, so I converted all the images to .jpgs, but still have the same issue.
i keep trying to empty my image folder by clicking the 'tick' box but when i go back in say the next day the images are all still there running?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to use the Process Multiple Files feature, it is giving me a message saying that the process was stopped or cancelled. Press continue or stop. When I click continue, it say that the folder is empty. It is not empty. This is what I use all the time to put my watermark on my photos.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen importing something off of a DVD or CD how do I direct Lightroom to copy the imported images or folder to a specific folder on my hard drive? It seems to default to MyCatalog but leaves the location on the CD rather than copying it to the drive. If I remove the CD the images is reported as missing.
When I go to the top of the screen for importing I can change the source but the location info on the right is not active or changeable.I am new to lightroom and coming from Photoshop Elements background.
I was in the process of moving a folder inside or LR. I might have clicked and moved it twice since it was very slow. LR wasn't able to complete the move and gave me an error message. After I clicked "OK" on the error message, I wasn't able to find my folder/images from the old or new location. I did a spotlight search on my mac, but I wasn't able to find them anywhere. Where has my folder/images gone? I tried to locate them without any success.

The code fails at this point and I gett an error pointing to the line "Call oTargetNode.AddChild(oSourceNodeDef)". I had to do a new install of Lightroom 3 due to a malware attack on Windows 7. When I attempt to restore the catalog, I get empty images with keywords and flags. How do I fix it?

LR 4.1 on Windows 7 65-bit.
I'm a web developer currently slicing an illustrator file for web graphics. Some of the icons and images have shadows, lights, etc, and it's impossible to simply see by a naked eye which pixels contains some shade or nearly transparent color and which doesn't.
It would be extremely useful if I could somehow easily differentiate between empty and non-empty pixels, so I wouldn't miss any when slicing.
I recently upgraded to Mac OSX 10.8.2 and Ilustrator 6. Now everytime that I go to palce an image or to relink an exiting image(s) rather than to take me back to the last folder I visited it takes me back to my Desktop and I have to renavigate the folder structures to get to the images I want to use. I've looked in both the Illustrator and Mac OSX preferences to see if there's a box I need to check to make it return to the last folder.

If I use image processer it's fine, the images get processed (using my action at the bottom), and ends up in a jpeg folder within my designated folder on the desktop. Unfortunately PS is also creating a duplicate image on the desktop, which gets real cumbersome with 200 images strewn across the desktop.
If I go batch route, nothing works becuase it's stops at the ACR window as these are DNG. (whether the override save as is checked or not)
how to save my slices to let's say /images2?
Renaming the slices won't do it. It's one .psd, depending on which layers I use it's for another design of a website.
Renaming the files after they're saved won't do it either since I don't want to have design1 overwritten.
I am using Lightroom 5 with two external hard drive which I have had no problems with untill now, however I can not now open any of my folders or image, the files are shown but greyed out. I can successfully get the images with no problems when I use my Adobe CS5 software, the harddrives are connected to a Belkin Hub I can not understand why they work on CS5 but not Lightroom 4.?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am exporting images from a folder in LR4.1 to another folder in LR while changing the name, and changing to a JPG. I have done this to 95 other images, placing them into multiple folders with multiple subfolders with no problems. Now I have created another subfolder and have tried exporting 8 images into this folder but LR doesn't show them. LR shows the folderd with the name greyed out and a file count of 0. I go to the hard drive and find all 8 images in the same (greyed out LR folder) location. Why is LR unable to see these files?
I have exported other files to other folders but when I go back to trying to export to this problem folder it doesn't work.
I want to use Lightroom to import around 40,000 images and thousands of videos.
1. How will I import all of this content? Do you just drag them into the program?
2. If I copy a folder containing 100 images into Lightroom, does Lightoom copy those images to another location to put all of the content in one spot?
3. Is it possible to use Lightroom with multiple harddrives? Example: I have a Macpro computer with 4 built in harddrives, and other harddrives that I swap back-and-forth. Can I somehow use Lightroom to tag and search for all of this content on these multiple drives?
I imported images into Lightroom from a folder I created on my desktop, I got images from Iphoto, and now Lr tells me images are "offline". I cannot work on them. I haven't purchased license yet and am using the 30 trial, though I don't thing that should matter.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to export several CorelDRAW 15 projects to JPEG so I can send them to my publisher, but I've run into a couple of problems...
The first being that the images never actually export. I go to File->Export, select the file type, and then click OK on the options page. The options page just closes and nothing shows up in the destination folder.
The really weird part is that if I try to export the same file again, Corel spits me a message saying it all ready exists and should I replace it. I double check the file path on both ends to make sure I didn't just export to the wrong place and that isn't the issue.
I even went swop far as to check the directory in question in Windows Command Prompt to check for some strange ghost file that I've never heard of and it says that the folder is completely empty.
And then it got even WEIRDER. I right clicked the folder in question to check the properties and, to my amazed shock, it showed the folder containing 4 files and a little over 7 mb (the expected number). Upon a quick search in the start menu, the imported picture ACTUALLY showed up looking perfect with a file address leading to the ghost folder.
Now here's the fun part: I figured maybe it was just a display glitch that I could fix by just moving the folder to an other one, it then proceeded to give me this error:
" The action can't be completed because the file is open in another program. Close the folder or file and try again."
It didn't say what program, but I assumed cleverly it was Corel. I closed it and nothing changed. So I then went to the Task Manager to see if a Corel process is still running... Nope... Nothing. Corel -- as far as the computer is concerned -- is no longer running and I still can't get my files that may or may not be there.

I've created a simple action that just does auto levels and auto colour on an image, and it works fine. The problem is that it still takes me a while to go through every image and aply the action. Is their a way to set it to do the action to all the images in a certain folder, and then to save the result?

I worked through a tutorial to put some of my own images in a folder to use as fills and clipart, going through the index process etc worked fine. I couldn't see any way to save them so I hoped it would be an automatic save for such things. Unfortunately they have now disappeared. Is there a way to save my own folders so that I can use them in any document?I normally work in 8" x 8" square pages, but each time I need to go back to Options and select Units: Inches and page size: Custom and type in the size. Now I have following problem and I can't find a solution for it: In the Navigator I have synchronized my complete folder where I store all of my photos. This folder contains more than 50000 photos already in many subfolders. But now I found some subfolders not showing all their content. I can see in the Navigator e.g. 216 pictures beside the folder name but in the preview I can see only 3 pictures! And I found some more folders which doesn't show their full content.
I tried to sychronize the single folder again but Lightroom says there were no new pictures and also no missing pictures to remove from the folder. If I open the folder by the Windows Explorer then I can see that all the files for the 216 pictures are there! So there must be a problem with the lightroom database!
But now I don't know what to do to get the pictures displayed in the library again.
I edited a picture and saved it in the same directory, as a PNG. On my next launch of Lightroom (2.1), I right-clicked on the folder and said "Synchronize folder". The file still isn't shown in Lightroom. If I pick "Show in Finder" on the folder, the PNG is right there and it opens up just fine in Preview when double-clicked.

Lately I've had a couple of folders that I might make a virtual copy in or add some metadata - when I right click to sync the folder, the popup menu says there are 30 new photos to import. When I click the Synchronize button, the screen goes through the import phase and then an dialog comes up saying No Photos or Videos were found.
