how to save my slices to let's say /images2?
Renaming the slices won't do it. It's one .psd, depending on which layers I use it's for another design of a website.
Renaming the files after they're saved won't do it either since I don't want to have design1 overwritten.
I've been asked to work with a blogger who until now has accepted images to their size uncompressed of resized. We've got around the problem of the max image size by using the plugin Insanity. Which has done a great job however what it doesn't do is re sample the images for the web.
Usually if I blog myself, I always save for web but I'm having real trouble, real real trouble creating an action that will save for web to the original folders instead of a separate one.
The thing is that there are so so many images in so many different folders and sub folders these must be modified and replaced ready for re upload.
Is there a way to stop photoshop from putting all my slices into an "images" folder? I want it to overwrite files in a folder that's not called "images," but it always creates a new "images" folder arbitrarily, which means I always have to go manually move them to the correct location.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using Photoshop CS6 . I use the timeline to make my frames and adjust the delay number at the bottom of each thumbnail, i've tried (No Delay, 0.01, 0.1, 02) but once I save they slow down.
When I press play from the timeline it plays fast and smooth. When I click "Save For Web" and press play on the bottom right it plays the same (Although for some reason when the delay is set to No Delay or 0, it plays SUPER fast)
When I click "Preview..." on the bottom right and it opens up in IE it plays very slow even though its delay is set to 0 or the others i've listed above. When I save and open it plays just like when I click preview, slow and delayed. I've tried opening with IE, Firefox, and Chrome and same result.
I even tried saving the frames from my animation and using the Online Generator from [URL]......... and the image can play REALLY fast setting the delay all the way down, heck, I had to set it to around "277 delay" for it to play the way Photoshop saves it thats how slow Photoshop is saving my gifs.
So I know its not a case of the gif having too many frames, or the file being too big.. (Which I don't really see how thats relevant anyways since it should only decrease the image quality not the animation speed)
EDIT: I read somewhere that its because I dont have Quicktime, is this true? I don't want to DL Quicktime if not because I dont need it.
I have an image, which can NOT be loaded in IE, but can in Photoshop. However, PS will not allow me to save the image in many formats such as BMP, GIF to name a few. The file was acquired through a bitstream over the internet, and in that process has perhaps lost / corrupted an amount of data?
Why does PS periodically bar saving of certain fiile types please? Does anyone have experience of this? Why is my image different to when I save the same image cut from a screen dump?
When importing something off of a DVD or CD how do I direct Lightroom to copy the imported images or folder to a specific folder on my hard drive? It seems to default to MyCatalog but leaves the location on the CD rather than copying it to the drive. If I remove the CD the images is reported as missing.
When I go to the top of the screen for importing I can change the source but the location info on the right is not active or changeable.I am new to lightroom and coming from Photoshop Elements background.
I was in the process of moving a folder inside or LR. I might have clicked and moved it twice since it was very slow. LR wasn't able to complete the move and gave me an error message. After I clicked "OK" on the error message, I wasn't able to find my folder/images from the old or new location. I did a spotlight search on my mac, but I wasn't able to find them anywhere. Where has my folder/images gone? I tried to locate them without any success.

The movie "clips" play fine, but whenever I play the project, there seems to be compression of the video or something- it the video just becomes unclear and fuzzy. It is not sharp. When I do "save as" the drop-down only gives me options to folders I've used recently. Up until last week I could at least choose "desktop" and then from that choose a folder on the desktop. When no file name is specified, Photoshop saves file to the root directory of the drive instead of the current folder. It auto names the image with the name of the folder that was active. Can this be fixed?
I was using "save for web"--not sure if it that matters.
In CS6, when I apply folder effects in a file on my laptop and then transfer them to my tower (computer that is, I am not a prince and do not have an actual castle with a tower) then all of the effects I have applied to a folder do NOT show up when I open the document.
The folder effects DO save on each computer, example: if I save a file and open it up the next day on the same computer it opens and displays as expected.
If I transfer the file either from my tower to my laptop or laptop to my tower the effects are completely erases from a folder (not from a layer)
I am using a USB flash drive to transfer the files. You can imagine how frustrating it is to open a file and have to go through your folders to apply all of the correct effects again.
In Photoshop CS 6, I noticed that some of the filters I use (Mostly The Cut Out Filter in the Artistic Folder) is not on the filter dropdown list anymore like it has been on other versions of Photoshop. I have to go to FILTER GALLERY Then I go to ARTISTIC then I can see the Cut Out Filter.
Is there any way I can make the Artistic Folder, or any other Filter Folder in the Filter Gallery a part of the Filter dop down list? This would be be a little faster and save me a few clicks with the mouse.
Question # 2. I have an EPSON 3490 Scanner and I scanned a document into PS 6 and it asks me to save it in a folder before I can open it up in Photoshop. Can I just Scan it in, and then decide where I want to save it? This was always the way in every other version of Photoshop. I really do not want to have 2 versions of the same picture on my computer.
Question # 3 Why does it always save as a .jpeg when I scan using Photoshop? I would like to always save it as a .psd as it scans in to Photoshop.
I have some images selected in Bridge. If I use image processer it's fine, the images get processed (using my action at the bottom), and ends up in a jpeg folder within my designated folder on the desktop. Unfortunately PS is also creating a duplicate image on the desktop, which gets real cumbersome with 200 images strewn across the desktop.
If I go batch route, nothing works becuase it's stops at the ACR window as these are DNG. (whether the override save as is checked or not)
When opening a step file and trying to save it, it keeps trying to save it in the 'My Documents/inventor' folder. Even if i select save as and pick a specific folder elsewhere it only saves the top assembly in that location and all sub assemblies and parts are then saved in the My Documents/Inventor folder.

And the folder i am trying to save into is in that folder
I've created a simple action that just does auto levels and auto colour on an image, and it works fine. The problem is that it still takes me a while to go through every image and aply the action. Is their a way to set it to do the action to all the images in a certain folder, and then to save the result?

Right now the folder is numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.. I attempted to do the batch rename through Photoshop to make the folder 001, 002, 003.etc, BUT when I did this, the first picture 1 turned into 001..which is great...but the old 2 turns into 002, but is actually what 10 used to be.

Sometimes, when I open the folder to work on the image files in Photoshop Elements 11, I find the files list in the proper sequential order, but other times, especially when I have recently had some files open, the files will be listed in the order that I last opened them. From Photoshop, I go to the save for web box, and I don't want it to lose any quality at all, so I select "original" in the 2-up tab for the optimized image and save .html and images. The problem is, when I input it into GoLive and put a CSS background behind it, it has a white "crust" around the part of the logo that is transparent. working on a jpg image, I click 'save' and instead of a 'save' window popping up, a 'save as' window pops up with a 'psd' option as the starting point. I don't want to 'save as' (I want to 'save') and because I am working on a jpeg document I also don't want to see 'save as a psd document'.
