Photoshop :: Cartoonizing Real Life Images
May 27, 2006Is there a way to make a real life image into a cartoon? That is, some technique that draws a black outline around the sharp edges, and colors regions of like color into completely homogenous color, and maybe adds shading to grades from light to dark?
Here's an example of what I mean. I did this in Photoshop but painstakingly. I want to know if there's an automatic way to do it.
GIMP :: How To Get Images To Print Out Based On Real Life Inches
Oct 14, 2013I am completely new to gimp I have an image that is 8in x 6in. It was previously edited in Photoshop on another computer thats how I know the actual size. When I load it into gimp, the image size is in real life the same, I can take a ruler to the screen and it measures 8in x 6in at 100% zoom. However, according to gimps rulers, the image is over 11in x 7in. So I measured what is one inch on gimps ruler and it is actually 3/8in in real life. When I create a grid to overlay the image, through Filters-Render-Patterns-Grid and I make the settings to be 1in x 1in, it too shows up based on gimps ruler measurements. I have the ruler set up in inches but a gimp inch is not a real life inch, and this shows up when I scale the image to 8in x 6in it actually makes the image 5 1/2in x 3 3/4in in real life when printed out. How can I get gimp to display a real life inch and how can I get my images to print out based on real life inches.

Feb 28, 2012I am trying to synch several biped characters to an HD background video I have placed in the environment slot. The problem is that when I scrub the animation slider or hit the play button, Max cannot play the background video in real time. When I hit play, the video remains frozen on whatever frame it was last on, but then updates to the correct frame when I hit the stop button.
It is pretty difficult to get the timing right on the foreground biped animation without a real time background reference. I also tried a lower res version of the background video (standard 720 x 480 DV), but that also does not play in real time. Is there any way to get max to play the background video in sync i.e., updating the frames in real time? Is there a way to improve max performance (ideal settings?)for a background video? Would a Tiff sequence play quicker than a .mpg or .mov files? If so how do set up an .ifl for playing an image sequence?

Jan 26, 2013I have photoshop elements 11. People analyzer will not recognize people or allow me to tag people in my photos. It works with my older camera photos such as from my Nikon D300 but will not work with photos from my D800 (RAW).

Jul 31, 2011I am currently creating a walking cane that my professor did very quickly in class a year ago. I still have his drawing but don't know how he created the handle and showed it all in 3d.
I created a long cylinder so far but I'm not sure what tool to use to make the 90 degree handle since it's displayed vertically? For a 2d I made the long cylinder, added a circle next to it, then trimmed the bottom circle, that's about it. I want the cane to appear in 3d to see all sides.
Photoshop Elements :: 11 Missing People In People View
Oct 2, 2012I recently upgraded from PSE 10 to PSE 11. I already used tags to identify People by name. However, in the new People View not all of my people tags are present as People Stacks despite running the face recognition function. If I use the Add People function it just runs the face recognition feature that I have already run and named the specific person I want to see in the stacks.Strange thing is when I click the Add Group button I can see the missing people but do not know how to get them shown in the People Stacks?

Apr 29, 2013I have about 11,000 pix in PSE 11 and growing, all of a large family. Using 'Add People" in organizer worked well up till I reached 9,000 pix. I get the msg that all faces have been tagged. I've been scanning about 300 pix from our old albums and always try to add people after each group. I am not even getting the "Is this a person" message. I can go to each batch and manually answer "Who is this? Database size problem??

Dec 30, 2012I have just upgraded from PSE 9 to PSE 11 and have imported some pictures that I have tagged in another program. Importing tags for everything other than people works fine (already used tags are recognized and reused). But importing tags for people proved to be a problem. They did not merge automatically with my previous people tags in PSE. My imported people tags ar now placed under "Imported Keyword Tags" in the "Media" workspace. How do I merge or move them to the "People" work space where the people tags for PSE 11 is placed?

I also wonder why people and other tags are put in different places. Is it possible to view all keyword tags in one list/place?

Jan 17, 2013how to scale life size models in AUTOCAD. I know that a draft should be in a 1:1 scale but lets say I want to draw a plane with exact dimensions measuring the wingspans. How would I set my limits in the command prompt to a specified area. Photoshop :: How To Measure Real Bit Depth?
Mar 7, 2008If I take an image that's 8 bits/channel and convert it to 16 bits/channel, Photoshop will tell me I have a 16 bits/channel image, even though it only contains 8 bits/channel of real information (I suppose the other 8 bits are all zero).
If someone gives me a 16 bits/channel image, is there any way that I check how many bits/channel of real information there are in it?
8 and 16 bits aren't the only options. For instance, I believe my Nikon CoolScan V ED film scanner is documented as providing 14 bits/channel. And, of course, some images may have fewer than 8 bits/channel.

A friend told me to just do a "tiff or pdf overlay". He said bring in the floor plan as a pdf or tiff and add what I want in acad. Of course he only knew how to tell me about it, not actually do it. Is this possible in ACAD 2006?
