I use Xara for design work and am also a professional SW developer who has been developing in WPF for 5 years. It would be so good if Xara could export data directly to XAML, rather than having to go via an intermediate format. Searching in the forum reveals that this has come up several times and there have been a few hints that it might be about to be supported, but then nothing.
View 1 RepliesWill Corel6 (or later) ever be able to export to a web page directly since the HTLM export doesn't work (drops links). The Corel Web program, or what ever its name is, was a joke. Its amazing that Corel work puts its name on a program that you could not open a CorelDraw file.
My current work around is to export to a JPG and then import that into dreamweaver and add the links there, then post. A pain but it works.
I've taken a color picture and made it black and white by doing the following: Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Hue/Saturation. I brought the saturation down to -100. The pencil is selected and my foreground color is black.
When I try to select the flowers in my picture to bring out their color (within the black and white image), I get a circle with a black line thru it and the error message "could not rasterize because the pixel data for this layer is not directly editable". The steps I followed are working for most of my team but some of us are getting this error message.
Can I upgrade my PSE 5.0 Catalog directly to version 12.0 without loss of data (i.e. using backup-move-restore method)? the transition to 6.0 and also to 9.0 resulted in a different data format in the catalog file.

Its hectic even understanding what's going on, I originally thought that a chm file was used but the only file it allows for selection is a xaml file. Nice crack open the old vb.net and create an xaml using the WPF option at startup compile it then link it in where just discussed in AutoCAD. still doesn't work? Now though I need to have an xaml file to display an image as part of the help file.how to create one??

I've tried the Data extraction wizard but it seems to export the Table attributes/properties and not the contents of the table.
I am running Xara Designer Pro X and there is a problem with my RGB-module.
The problem is that I need to have a color with the data R 241 G 145 B 27 (kind of orange).But, when I enter the data the color module converts it to percent (%) and the color is definitely not orange.
How do I make Xara RGB-color module understand that I don't want to use percent?
One of P&GD2013's new features was supposed to be preservation of EXIF data when editing JPGs. I'm having trouble discovering when this happens.
For instance, when I open a photo, use MagicErase to remove a lamppost, flatten the group and then export/save it back to the original, all my efforts so far have resulted in the loss of the original EXIF data.
Is there a way to preserve EXIF data after editing (in any way) the original photo?
How can I export a pdf/x for commercial printing and have the black text export as 100% process black, not cmyk tints?

Try to export as PDF.
Preset Selections: Custom.
Click on Advanced Options.
Choose Pre-Press.
Here I chose a custom color profile (PSRgravureHWC.icc), which significantly changes the colors.
Everything worked okay in Xtreme Pro 5.
But now, when I switch on Embed profile, the resulting PDF shows the same colors, as if the switch was not ticked.
I haven't used Xara in a while but tonight I did some adjustments on a jpg and tried to export it as a .pdf. For some reason I do not have the option under Export Files to export to a pdf. I know I have done this many times in the past. Is my Xara corrupted or something.

When I export, the text is great....crisp and clean however my background image is becoming pixelated since I am making this a large print. Any tips to increasing resolution to photo files. I see there is a way to increase / bring in files at their actual size. So I may need to try that. Others?

Is Designer Pro X not capable of handling this size of file?
I would imagine that there are users out there who are dealing with very large images and probably much larger file sizes.Is it simply that the dpi I am choosing, is the cause?
I am trialing the DG&P of xara. I am creating embroidery files in another software. I need to import in .emf. Most of my clipart, etc that I use is jpeg or png. I am wanting to take those into a program, create the vector file, and import to the embroidery software so that I can manipulate/simplify how I need to to create the stitch out. So, when I am in xara and I bring the image in, I select all and choose export in the .emf format....I figured that out. But, when I bring it into the other software I have a blank page. So, I figure I am missing something. Is there a quick way to convert the outline I bring in (in png) to vectors so that it can export and be manipulated in the other software in .emf? or do I trace the file in xara as I would in the other software, have a rough sketch, and then export? Where is the best info on what to do? I am pretty good at following tutorials and lessons but before I buy I just want to make sure it does what I am wanting it to do.

Previously I have been able to export my work to PDF, but as of today the PDF option has vanished from my list of exportable formats.
It works absolutely fine to print as a PDF-file, but export is not an option anymore.
When ever I export to PDF from Designer Pro 7 a graphic ends up in the PDF file that isn't any where in the Xara doc. It happens on most files exported from Xara but not all. It also happens on both my laptop and my desktop PC. I'm pretty sure it used to happen in WD6 so it may stem from there.
I've attached a PDF exportd from Xara, you shouild hopefully see two black.. um.. cartoonish feet / foot prints. God knows where they came from, I must have imported them at somepoint. You should also notice they only appear on the first page of a document.
I've tried searching for just outlines in Designer pro but nothing.
Is there an .INI file or cache file I can clear?
I haven't tried a re-install yet as it happens on two PC's so can't see it being that.
I noticed that when exporting a trifold to PDF, that a transparent PNG file contained in the design, actually has an opaque background, not transparent. I have used Commercial Printing as the export mode and played a little with custom settings.

After parsing corel SVG paths, I've noticed some odd behavior. Here are a few things:
The position of a Corel graphic on a page prior to exportation affects the size of the graphic in the SVG file?
I get negative numbers (x y points) in the SVG file when corel numbers are all pos. The x,y values seem to be flipped to y,x values.
I have a large volume of our own clip art that I need to put on line via Microsoft's WPF (windows presentation foundation) all of which is saved in CDR files .

There is that cool GPS tracklog import, but I am really missing a GPS data export! I would like to have the opportunity to mark some pictures and export a track list from that information to file.
When I'm working on a design for which I'm generating options, like a logo, I usually work with one Xara file and a new page for each option. When it's time for me to export each page as a JPEG or PNG, it's really frustrating that each and every time I have to tell Xara to save the Page, NOT the default Page Content. I'm thinking there should be a way for Xara to remember and repeat my last export settings, but I can't find it...

When you look at the pdf the colors are a bit more flat than in the PNG or JPG export. Also you can see an aditional line in the black line arround the stones. How I can get the same colors as with JPG export and get rid of the line?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am having difficulty with the pdf export settings.It seems like it is working fine but text will not show up when viewed on Apple computers/ipad/iphone. Pdf opens fine on my windows system.I know that I can "print" to a pdf viewer like "cute pdf" or similar but those viewers distort and cut off pages and are a general pain to use with xara.
I could also convert the text to "editable shapes" but then all the 'l' 's look terrible and the text generally looks very rough and horrible.
Can I export to a plotter / cutter in Xara ..... think in corel draw we have to convert to curves.....
