I was still unable to import photos into Corel Videostudio Pro x4. I uninstalled it then went to reinstall it, but whenever I click on the install button on the menu, it just flickers for a bit.

I tired importing photos directly from the sdcard, both via the inbuild reader & and external USB reader. Import fails in both cases. I then tired copying the files to desktop, import fails with move option too. But when i use the add option, the import works fine.

The message that I get is that the files cannot be read. But I am able to import them to iPhoto, Photoshop Elements on my PC, etc. I contacted support and chatted with three different people. I uninstalled Lightroom 3.6 and re-installed 3.5 - that didn't work. So the next guy had me re-install 3.6 and update the Camera RAW version to 6.6, that didn't work.

None of this has worked.
I can import via the EOS utlity; but I should be able to do this directly from my camera.

I recently imported the camera roll (not the photostream) off my iPhone 5 into Lightroom. The filename appears as the number of the image (eg. IMG 6438); I want to import photos also taken with the same iPhone that had been uploaded to my MAC desktop (because they include photos not currently on the camera roll) but they have assumed a different filename (eg. 2013-06-27 14.40.16.jpg). I have checked off "Do not import duplicates" (and am not renaming upon import) but LR is not recognizing them (the identical photo) as such and weeding out the ones I actually don't have in my library is becoming increasingly problematic..
View 10 Replies View RelatedSince this morning, I'm unable to import photos or create a new catalog in LR 4.2 on Mac OS X 10.8.2. When I choose "File -> Import Photo or Video" nothing happens. The same happens when I choose "Create new catalog". Also when I insert a CF card into my cardreader, there is no import dialog popping up.
I have updated to 4.2 a while ago but never tried to import new photos so I wasn't aware of that issue.
I tried to reinstall LR and I also optimized the catalog but that did not solve the problem either.
I am unable to import a DVD into VSX5.
DVD Properties only show as 195 MB udf file system / It is not copyright protected .It plays OK in Power DVD and Windows Media Player and lasts about 5 minutes .It is a free promotional DVD.
To try and import it into VSX5 I go import file -insert media to library -insert digital media -select drive, -start- when I select or get near the small boxes in the top right of title I or chapter1 boxes with the cursor - the screen goes black and the PC reboots loosing any unsaved data..
If I try to do a screen capture of a paused DVD screen either via print screen-paste as new image, or the dedicated screen capture feature in Paint Shop Pro X- the captured screen area only shows black....
I have a Samsung Captivate and it records video as .3GP files. I can't import this file to VideoStudio X3. I did the latest "Patch" and I'm running version 13.6.2.69. Shouldn't I be able to import these videos?

I get two messages either "Use a display environment of 1024* 768 or more", or "There is no capture driver installed on this system". Neither of which make much sense.
I was previously using VS X4 with no problems importing. Should I assume that the necessary driver is on the DVD or do I need to download another driver. I have HD Writer AE installed.

So far I've used AVS Video Editor, Cyberlink Power Director and Adobe Premiere.With each program I've spent 30 minutes making a quick demo video to see how intuitive it is and how well it performs. Today I downloaded Corel Visual Studio and decided to give it a go.
I've run into a problem straight away.I've tried to import raw avi files.So I'm using the "Select Import Source Folders" screen.When I navigate to the folder containing the files the OK button is greyed out and won't work.It's greyed out all of the time.
needed larger HD and did a clean install of windows 7 after doing a search of my original HD for all PSD/CR2 images> then doing the "drag drop" technique of copying/backing-up those images to another external and an internal HD.
Then did the instillation of that larger "C" HD and clean install of windows 7>copied those images into one newly created folder on that drive>installed CS6 and LR 4.1 and...LR can't/will not recognize and import more than 500 out of 14,000 PSD/CS2 images.
I am able to access those images via windows explorer and open them into CS6 without difficulity. I have done a couple un/reinstall of LR.Every one of those images is located within one folder and no images anywhere else on the "C" drive. I still have the original back-ups in two places. I have watched the videos on importing images.
LR4 locks up when trying to import, or use file, edit, library, etc tabs.

When I try to import it says "the following files were not imported because they could not be read".
I'm importing jpg files and it fails if I try to import from: my camera (worked previously), my memory card reader, my hard drive, an external drive.
I've tried importing copies of photos Lightroom previously imported and recognized and new photos its never seen before. I've tried importing photos taken on my Canon Powershot SX100IS, my Nikon L120, and my cameraphone. It fails on everything with "the following files were not imported because they could not be read" error.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am running Vista 64 bit, and have downloaded my CS4 to it. It will not let me download any updates thru the Help section- gives me "Adobe Output module 2.1 Failed to install. Install process has encountered a problem" but do you think it tells me what the problem is? It also tells me the "Services update- Failed to install" I have been at this for several days, and I am just about at my wits end! And when I try to open photos in CS4 it tells me "The specified module could not be found. C:Program Files (x86)CommonFilesAdobeAdobeVersionCueCS4Client4.0.1VersionCue.DLL" I understand the RAW files from my new camera (Canon T1I) won't open because there is no plug-in for it yet, but I can't even open RAW from my previous camera (Rebel XT), nor will it open any JPEGs. I get the same message for any attempts. I had no problems with the CS2 opening my older RAW files or JPEGs. When I open CS4 I get a message about the NVIDIA upgrade, which I finally was able to get that downloaded, tho I still get the message when opening CS4. I also am having issues now, that says the computer is giving me a "Blocked Startup Programs" message when turning on the computer. Is this affecting the CS4 somehow? I never had this message until the last month or so. Have no idea why it is now blocking programs. The Adobe CS4 Service Manager is on the list of blocked programs. Any ideas how to go about unblocking these, and reasons why they may have been blocked in the first place? The list is about 30 programs long! As you can tell, my computer "knowledge" leaves much to be desired!

View 1 Replies View RelatedSince upgrading to LR4, I've been unable to export photos to disk. No error is shown, but the UI shows the "exporting" dialog in the upper left of the window, but has zero progress. Here are some details:
Observations: CPU not pegging, RAM isn't getting eaten up. I can right click on any image and ask to be shown the pic in the Finder (I'm on a Mac) and it takes me to the photo. This catalog has been upgraded from every previous version of Lightroom.
Troubleshooting:
I've dumped my LR preferences (at ~/library/preferences/.com.adobe...)
I've upgraded to 4.1 RC2.
I've done the "test integrity of the catalog" check and didn't have any errors.
This repros with ANY photo in my catalog.
When I perform the export command, the folder I direct Lightroom to does get created by LR, but no photos ever show up there. I've also tried directing the export to an already created folder, and still there is no export.
Environment: Mac OS X (10.7.3 I believe)LR 4 (now at 4.1 RC2).
I have Lightroom 4 and CS5. I'm trying to take my photos from lightroom into photoshop to edit them further. I've done this hundreds of times in the past and all of the sudden it's not working. When I select the photos I want to edit in photoshop, I click command E to edit them further in photoshop. Lightroom gives me a progress bar in the top left corner that reads, "Preparing files for edit," but nothing happens after that. The photos never get sent to photoshop and lightroom just kind of sits there. It doesn't freeze up or anything, but it doesn't send the photos to photoshop. I've tried uninstalling Lightroom and re-installing, but that didn't do anything.
