VideoStudio :: (MetadataMgr Has Stopped Working) Error
Jan 1, 2012
This is about the "MetadataMgr has stopped working" endlessly repeated error.VideoStudio Pro X3 under Windows 7 (64-bit) has recently become unstable, and I get the "MetadataMgr has stopped working" endlessly repeating error. Corel's MetadataMgr.exe doesn't stop creating errors unless the PC is rebooted.
I uninstalled VideoStudio Pro X3 and then reinstalled it. The problem disappeared briefly, but came back next time I attempted to burn a DVD using VideoStudio Pro X3. So again I'm in MetadataMgr hell, with a video editing program that bombs. All patches on the Corel WWW site have been installed, with no affect on the problem.
I see that this has been discussed here before (Thread: Possible to use DVD Factory Pro 2010 w/o metadatamgr.exe?), and there is supposed to be a fix by deleting some directories somewhere.
I just reinstalled Photoshop CS5 Extended onto my new computer. I had it running before but I got a new hard drive. I am still running Windows 7 32 Bit. Seemed to install. When I opened up Photoshop and tried to open a new document or open and existing photo I got this message: "Adobe Photoshop CS5 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
I have been using Adobe Photoshop CS3 for a couple of years and for the most part haven't had any problems. However, when I tried to run the program today, the message "Adobe Photoshop CS3 has stopped working. Windows can check online for a solution to the problem." popped up, and I could not run Photoshop.
(It also listed information for the Exception Code, Exception Offset, OS Version, Locale ID, and four different kinds of Additional Information, which I have not listed here).
I also suspect that I'm having the same problem with all of my other Adobe software (I have Adobe Creative Suite 3 Web Premium), since I am getting similar error messages for Adobe Illustrator CS3, and Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 will not open at all and does not even display an error message.
Installed CC photoshop on a brand new W530 laptop. Upon launching either the normal or 64 bit versions of photoshop CC, the application loads then I receive the following error...
"Adobe Photoshop CC has stopped working"
I am unable to use the application, I have removed and reinstalled also in an attempt to correct the issue. investigation of the event log results in the error below.
repeat error each and every time I use any adjustment on graphics, photos or anything I am working on with PSP X3. Am including a screen shot, edited down to the forum specifics, and I had to edit the screen capture with PSP X2 since to reload PSP X3 will now require my restarting my computer.
I have used Paint Shop Pro since it's very first incarnation as a tiny program courtesy of the folks with Jasc, so this is not my first time using the product, just the absolute worst experience doing so.
No matter what the image, file type, or set-up, when I try to make adjustments (even if I make sure to stop and make double sure they are finished processing), eventually the program locks up and I get the error shown and stated.
I'm a photography student at the Art Institute's online division. I've been working with LR 3 for the past couple of weeks. Suddenly the program shut down; I got an error message from Windows, saying it would keep looking for a solution, but then I couldn't even open Lightroom at all. I was having the same problem with PhotoShop from the Creative Design Suite 5.5.
I uninstalled both programs, then re-installed. Now PhotoShop's fine, but Lightroom is still doing (or rather NOT doing) what it was before, with the same error message.
Oh--one more thing. I recently bought a Nikon D5100, so I uploaded the two software disks when I was ready to transfer photos directly from the camera to my laptop. I don't THINK this is the problem, since I didn't start using Lightroom until after I uploaded the Nikon software, and both worked fine last week. However, just in case, I uninstalled the Nikon software & haven't yet re-installed that.
I downloaded and installed cs6 for windows 7 32 bit and cant open it to use,i get the message" adobe photoshop cs6 has stopped working" I have tried different graphics drivers but still the same. My other adobe softaware works fine,IE: elements11 and lightroom4.
On my new Dell XPS 8500 Win 8 computer Photoshop CS6 keeps stopping working. I've tried both 64-bit and 32-bit versions and updated the video driver after phoning Dell. Also installed latest Adobe program updates. I keep getting the error message "Adobe Photoshop CS6 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
I recently upgraded from Photoshop Elements 10 to 11. Everything works great while I am using it but if I do not do anthing in Elements for 4-5 minutes I get the 'Elements 11 Organizer has stopped working' error message, the only option I have is to push the 'Close Program' button.
working with jpeg's crossfade transitions and mp3 music, at random times and no paticular clicking of items in timeline video studio stops working and has to close. I am finding this problem very agravating as i am spending more time restarting project and have to save everytime i make a change. Has to be a solution to this or the purchase of this product is not worth anything.
I can not start my VideoStudio X5. ERROR MESSAGE: The program has encountered an unspecified error and has stopped functioning. Please contact Corel Technical Support and send the dump file for analysis. URL....
I installed Corel Video Studio Pro X4 Ultimate on my laptop at the end of last year and up until now it has been working fine. Because I was not happy with the final dvd of hd footage (I don't have a blu ray burner) despite trying all the settings I purchased Pinnacle Studio 15 ultimate because that seems to give a better result when burned to disc. At first Pinnacle was not working in that all of its elements were not accessible so I was editing my footage in Corel and then burning the end result in Pinnacle. Having gone on to the Pinnacle Forums I was advised to change from the default computer desktop theme of Aero to Windows Classic and change the display to smaller - 100%. This solved all the problems with Pinnacle and it is now working properly. However, when I tried to open Corel it came up with the message Corel Video Studio Pro has stopped working, close the programme. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it and it still refuses to open up. Until changing the desktop theme Pinnacle and Corel did not appear to conflict with each other so I had no reason to think there would be a problem running the two applications.
I have taken a screenshot of the error message but cant seem to paste it to the post.
I now am running a Core i7 -2760 QM CPU @ 2.40 GHZ laptop 16gb RAM Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
The video capture function for my Corel VideoStudio12 program. When I hit the capture tab, nothing happens. Just two months ago my 17 year old son used the program without any problems. All the other functions are working (edit, effect, overlay, title, audio,).
I am not very tech savvy, so I hope there is a simple solution. I am able to capture video with Windows Movie Maker, but I prefer to use Corel as it is a much better program. My operating system is Vista Home Premium, I am using a firewire connection to a Panasonic Camcorder, model PV-GS83.
"Adobe Photoshop has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
I have uninstalled/reinstalled Photoshop and still get the same message.
DELL XPS 420 Windows Vista Home Premium. 3GB RAM Adobe CS3 Design Premium
I have been using Corel Video Studio Pro X4 for a while and never had this problem before. When I try to burn a clip to dvd I get the message:
The working folder C:documents and settingsxxxmy documentscorelvideostudio14.0 may not have enough space. We will clean up the converted cache file. You can also change the working folder in preferences.
The problem is I have already changed the working folder in preferences. When I click on ok to see if it will clean up the converted cache file nothing happens. Why is this coming up when I have the working folder in a different drive with well over 370 gig of space. How do I get this to work again. Another thing I was burning a clip and when it finished it came up with a error and did not work. That is when I tried to re burn the file and got this message. I have tried burning a different file and get the same message. As it is it is useless to me now.
My Photoshop CS4 and CS5 shows "Photoshop has stopped working" . Whereas I have Windows 7 64bit, 6GB RAM, 512MB Graphics Card.
Earlier I worked in this version. But after formating my conputer I could not do anything with only in Photoshop. First I installed Photoshop CS4 it was failed to work then install Photoshop CS5..It also failed to work.
I updated Photoshop CC about 7 days ago. Before that it worked fine, since then I have been using Photoshop CS6 for some work (CC left it there when it installed) but yesterday I wanted to go to Photoshop CC from Lightroom 5.2 and Photoshop CC hung. Rebooted computer and tried to open Photoshop CC but it crashes on initialization.
As interim measure I installed PS CS6 as an optional external editor in Lightroom, but I would like to use Photoshop CC again one day!
Yesterday, I tried to start up Photoshop, but it got halfway through initializing and stopped, flashing a message: "Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 has stopped working." I shut down the computer and tried again, but it repeated three or four times.
So I uninstalled the program. Upon reinstallation, installation failed and the computer said: "Your installation encountered errors. Please try restarting your system and installing again. Exit Code: 20."
I have been using my program since June without issue. Suddenly it stopped working. I can open the program but it will not create a new file or open an existing file. If I "open with" from windows explorer it won't open either. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program and I'm still not having any luck.
I get an error message from windows vista premiumm home.
It just says: Adobe Photoshop CS3 has stopped working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. The only option is a box that says "close program". Once you close it everything goes away. It doesn't even give you a hint of what the problem could be. I installed creative suite 3 web premium on this brand new computer about 2 weeks ago. This is a first time install of this software, but when I called Adobe they said they don't offer free installation help anymore on cs3 because cs4 is out now. Anyone have a clue what I should do? I can't just uninstall photoshop, if I try it wants to uninstall all 8 programs.
I am working on a floor plan in CS5 Photoshop. Just basically tracing over an original document and erasing what I trace over. I do this all the time and it has been working fine.
But now the eraser won't work at all. When i turn off all the layers except the background layer I can erase things, but then when I turn the layers back on, it doesn't show up erased. I've tried resetting the tool and that didn't work. I'm so confused as to why it just stopped working.
i'm getting the error shown in subject. view details indicates problem with cooltype.dll. error started immediately after i activated a font in suitcase fusion 3. i was able to run photoshop 32bit to finish job. i deactivated font in suitcase and restarted computer. suitcase is not running but i still cannot run photoshop. what can i do to fix??
My CS5 was working fine yesterday. Today, it abruptly stopped (error message states photoshop stopped working and must shut down.) I reopened both times and same thing happened.
