Nov 22, 2010If there is a way I can create/save an image in VS 10 that I can use later on for cover art, etc. I tried to save a title as an image but I'm not doing something correctly.

View 13 RepliesI am trying to create a Blu-ray disk image in X4, but that option is grayed out. The video is 1440x1080 - shot on a Sony camera.
It will let me create the folders and will offer to burn a disc (but I don't have a blu-ray writer).
I am looking to create an ISO for two reasons:
1. To burn a disk from the image later when I do get a burner; and
2. To play through my WD Live (it plays ISOs)
I prefer the ISO to just the folders because it is is in just one neat file.
I tried to create an ISO image (I don't have a blu-ray drive) and it turns out it isn't possible (the "create image" option is diabled on blu-ray disks).I was able to create the folders.

I do not make DVD's but rather put all my videos on a Western Digital media player which offers a very convenient way to both store & view them. After I select "share/create disc" & follow the menu creation instructions the final screen does not allow me to select the option to create an iso file. I can see the title of the file & the iso extension on the line but it is grayed out. I am running windows 7, 64 bit, 5GB ram.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI was surprised at not finding any questions about this on the forum. Is their a way to create a mirror image of a video clip?
I am running Videostudio Pro X4 Ultimate 14.2.0.23 (Ultimate)
Using X5 pro, a project comprising an introduction and 6 clips was created, with menu. Each clip has its own sound (voice and music). The rendering config included 2 pass conversion and normalise sound checked, for creation of a disk image on an HDD folder. The preview worked fine - vision and sound OK. Because there were multiple disks to be made, the image creation also worked fine, as did the burn disk from iso.
But when the resulting disk was played back after burning, the first clip on it had no sound. Imagery fine, just no sound. It wasn't an isolated case. A repeat try - with particular care to check this aspect, ie sound on the clip, was OK during preview - got the same result in the final disk.
I have a rectangular screen grab (Windows application) that I would like to simply round the corners and add a border. The image is not a photograph, but since I have Paint Shop Pro X3 and like how it works, I thought I would try it . I have spent some time trying to do this with Paint Shop Pro X3 with no luck. None of the pre-defined frames seemed to do what I need. I would also like to create a drop-shadow behind the image. how to do this or a video that I can watch. A list of steps would also be OK.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an image of a map and want to create a number of individual images of that map each with a large white dot with a black edge (to highlight different cities).
I have created a separate image of the dot using both transparent background and normal background and then attempted to use EDIT>COPY the image of the dot and then EDIT>PASTE to the image of the map but no matter which PASTE option I use I cannot achieve what I want to.
Also (different problem) I lost my MATERIAL PALETTE. I noted that to restore it I could use VIEW>PALETTES and select MATERIALS but it was already selected. I also used the F6 key without success. I had to start PSP by pressing the SHIFT key when I started it to restore PSP to its defaults and then I could select and display it. So what stopped me from displaying it in the first place?
When I create Blu Ray H264 (1920X1080) video clips in VS Pro X3, all files give me extensions *.mpg, and they can be played with my LG BD 570 player. However, When I create Blu Ray H264, 1920X1080 video clips in VS Pro X4, all files give me extensions *.m2t, and these video files can NOT be played with my LG BD 570 player.
Is there anyway I can create Blu Ray H264 (1920X1080) video files with extensions *.mpg in VS Pro X4? What is the difference between Blu Ray H264 (1920X1080) *.m2ts and Blu Ray H264 (1920X1080) * .mpg file?

I have VideoStudio Pro X2. Purchase late last year to create a 50th wedding anniversary video for my parents. Worked great, able to mix video, add music, able to copy to DVDs, etc.
I haven't opened it for a while, until today. I tried to make another copy of the video on a DVD tonight, the window pops up, it says the video is loading, but the video never comes up. When I try to click on the popup (anywhere), it says the program stopped working and MS will shut it down (gives me the option to shutdown or continue).
I downloaded SP1 as well. Still same issue.
The video will play fine in the edit mode. I tried to copy another video compilation that I made a year ago (same timeframe) and it worked fine.
My Video Studio X5 refuses to create DVD's.
The system runs fine apart from that. When I go to Share, Create Disc, DVD, then check Create Disc, Create DVD Folders, Create Disc Image, Normalize Audio, Delete Temporary Files in Working Folder. Then Click Burn, everything proceeds as normal until both progress bars reach 99%, then I get the following message " Unspecified Error -- 5.0.0".
Nothing gets transferred to disc. This is the same for all projects. I have already tried re-installing VS X5. Nothing seems to make any difference.
I have installed the evaluation version of VideoStudio Pro X4 in order to test it.When I whant to create a Blu-Ray menu, I have only one menu template. Is it normal ?
After modifying it, I can't find the way to save it, in "Favorite" for example. How to create a new menu from zero ?Or this menu creation tool is very limited, or I missed something.
I currently have the trial version of Video Studio Pro X4. I would like to purchase it if I can complete a project and burn to DVD. I was able to create and edit a video of a recent concert at our church that looks great. I went through the steps of Create Disc and burn to DVD of the 2 Hour video (It took over 12 Hours to burn). The DVD seems to play on the computer with no problem, but when I try to play it on a DVD player attached to the TV, it says there is no disc, the player does not recognize the DVD. I used a Memorex DVD+R DL 8x 8.5GB 240 Min. (double layer). I have promised many people I would provide them a DVD of the concert. What do I need to do to produce a DVD that will play on a DVD player through the TV?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI can't find anything in X5 that will allow me to create an FLV file like I was able to in X3.
Am I missing something, or is that feature no longer available?
I've been using X5 since last year and have been able to create and burn DVDs without issues. Today I tried to create a DVD (I chose "Create Disc" from the "Share" menu) and a new window came up titled "DVD Movie Factory 7". I have never downloaded this and I am unable to get past this window. Did Corel update X5 with this new software? I can not create a disc like I did 4 weeks ago. I forgot to mention that I did have to perform a recovery and reset my computer to it's original settings a few weeks back and I reinstalled X5. My computer info is as follows:
Windows 8 64 bit
8GB RAM with Intel i5-3230M CPU 2.6 GHz
750 GB Hard Drive
I have a short project to burn to DVD. I have it in AVCHD format as well as downconverted for standard DVD. This is my normal procedure, so that I can burn a high def disc for myself, and a standard disc for friends and family. I have done this many times before, but this time, whether AVCHD or standard DVD, I get "Unspecified error" when I hit the burn button. I am observing best practice - there is nothing in the timeline, and the settings (the little gear icon) match the video clip. This piece is only about 8 mins long - much shorter than my normal pieces, but I can't see that would make a difference.
I considered burning them in Roxio or Power2Go, but both programs insist on including Menus, which I definitely don't want.
This actually applies to all the versions I have used since VS10. I have never been able to create a top menu for the dvd which looks like the ones on commerical dvd's, namely, to have buttons not only to "play movie" but also to "view chapters" etc. The user's manuals appear to be mum on this point.

I created an m2p video file with premier pro and imported it into VS and saved the project as a VSP file. It is just one complete clip of approx 1hour 20mins that needs no other editing except I added 4 chapter points and saved again.
The problem is that when I try to create a DVD by either Tools/Create Disc/DVD or through the Share Tab at the top, a window opens ok but I cannot do anything with it.
My project shows in the media clip list at the bottom (It shows black because I have a couple of seconds of black video at the start) but I just cannot find a way to get it into the preview pane so that I can use the jog slider or view the project.
When I click Add/Edit Chapter, another similar window opens and my file shows along with the 4 chapter point but I still cannot get it into the preview pane.
Using VS X4, I haven't been able to find how to create my own DVD menu, starting with a blank screen.
I have been able to use the gallery edit function and remove text fields, but can't remove the image that is supplied with a given gallery menu. Is there just a way to start with a blank screen and then just add an image and some text?
Today I use a dvd maker freeware program...load this mpg file and it creates the dvd folder and I create the image from that. Total size is 4.2 and it reports using 94% of the dvd available space. Freeware program puts in extra screens advertisements so can't use it.
I attempt to use the share-create disc and import same mpg file and it reports in the bar that its 6.48GB. To me this is a problem and I can't understand why it reports it as 2.2GB larger than the actual file size. There is no menu its from a new project, nothing imported to the timeline, just open, create, import and my OS and every other program must be reporting it wrong.
I want to create videos for Instagram, but I'm having trouble making a template that outputs a video that I can upload from my Samsung S3 smartphone to Instagram. I'm currently using VideoStudio X5 and would like to get started with these videos as soon as possible.

Does Corel have a product that will enable me to create a slideshow with digital pictures, with a menu that will enable the viewer to select a particular group of slides to view. For example, I take a 5 day trip and take pictures each day. I want to create the slideshow with a menu to allow the viewer to select day 3, for example, and view only those pictures.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was having an issue in Corel VideoStudio Pro x4. I could not create custom video output files (profiles; see attached image). So I ran VideoStudio as admin. No luck. I reinstalled it as admin and ran it as admin. No luck. I tried manually changing the files corresponding to the default video profiles with notepad. Initially I was denied access. Through a rigorous method of trying to figure out why I was denied access to changing the files, I found out that I was denied access to even renaming the Corel folder (with nothing running corel programs).
I downloaded a better version of task manager to figure out what must be running in the background. Nothing was running anything located in the Corel folder. I still couldn't even rename the corel folder on an admin account. I booted in safe mode (and then I could change the folder name, etc), and changed one of the default video output profiles. The changes stuck even across computer reboots, but my changes were not recognized in VideoStudio (no clue why; I changed the profiles found in the profile subfolder of Corel).
So, I figured what with the sale going on, I might as well upgrade to Pro x6. Bought it. Uninstalled VideoStudio x4 completely. Deleted the Corel folder entirely from Program Files (x86). Installed VideoStudio x6. Got it launched as admin, attempted to create a profile, and got the same error. Trying to rechange the Corel folder results in the same denial of permissions that I used to have, even after running it as admin, disabling UAC, and changing the security permissions on the folder itself.
How to create a custom profile. Attached is example errors. Need tocreate a profile that is the exact same as the WMV HD 720 30p default profile, only with better sound (24 bits instead of 16 bits and/or 48/96KHz instead of 41KHz), and then direct me to which folder I should place said filed in (as changing stuff in the profile folder didn't seem to make much difference).
