I am having some issues in exporting a Revit 2013 file to gbXML file. I have already followed the instruction steps about how to do the gbXML export in Revit 2013 given by the Offical Revit website.

I see that keyboard shortcuts in revit 2013 can be eported as xml and imported back from an xml? Is it possible to export the shorcut list as a simple txt file or excel file, for printing purpose. Some of the bim modellers in my office would like to print the shorcut and stick it on their desk.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have created a model within revit architecture 2013 which I want to export as a gbxmL and open in the open studio 1.1.0 interface within sketchup. When I export the gbxmL model into sketchup it does not have a floor, and an error saying surface has two adjacent spaces which are the same space (warning repeated for each room), room will not be translated, and also surface has no adjacent spaces, will not be translated appears.
All spaces are bound to the floor and roof, and zones are correctly assigned, and the model has a location. There are no errors when the export to gbxml is to take place for analytical surfaces or for the rooms. What might be wrong in the way I have assigned rooms/spaces?
I exported a Bim model (IFC format) from Butler Advantage XP. When I open the IFC in Revit it says that it can't create blend and can't regenerate family. When I continue, by deleting the elements, the model is without the roof on the building. Is there a way to prevent this from happening before I export it from the other program, or a way to fix it once I import it into Revit?

I need a COMPLETE file for Navisworks...
When I go to Revit, and try to export to NWC file, it starts the export process... about 40 minutes in (YES, 40 mins, it just loads and loads and loads) I will get an error message that "Revit has stopped responding"
This is now the 3rd time today I have tried this with no success. I also tried loading into Navisworks directly (Nav 2013) but will not read the files properly and bring them in together.
I know Revit 2012 is capable of exporting linked models to a single NWC file... however my computer does't seem to like it. I even just sat and read a book and did not internet serach or running any other programs at the time....

Exporting each individual Revit model to NWC and recompling them in Navisworks IS NOT AN OPTION.
I need to export this large linked Revit file as ONE nwc file.. I know it CAN be done...
My laptop is fairly newer and has like 8gb of ram, so that shouldn't be the problem, is it?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have this file that won't open in AutoCAD Architecture 2012, well let me rephrase that, it won't finish opening. It has 4 or 5 xref's attached. I was able to open this same file using 2010. Through process of elimination I was able to determine that a file that was exported from Revit MEP 2012 was the problem. When that file was detached the drawing would open just fine. To make things more interesting, I am able to open the Revit Export file just fine using 2012. What diabolical combination of event has happened to cause this SNAFU.

I currently have code to read each cell in a sheet, but unfortunately some of the Excel sheets have in excess of 5000 cells and it is taking too long to read. So I am switching to another method.
The program will check dates of TXT files and XLS file to make sure TXT files are current (if not, open and recreate TXT files).Then read the TXT files (much faster).
Where I am getting stuck is 2 places -
Get the names of each sheet in the excel file (not always a known name)
Save each sheet as separate TXT file.

I used to be able to FILE-export-render video- and choose MPEG-4 Video in the settings panel which would render my file into a small .mov file. Now in CS6 the new render video panel does not have that option. I tried the QT options in the export window and my file is hugh! The H.264 option gives me an .mp4. I put the .mp4 into my web page via Dreamweaver and my video does not play when uploaded into the sever. The video plays fine in Dreamweaver before I upload to the server. After I upload to the server I just get a Q and no video on my web page. If I render the same file in CS5 I am able to view it in my web page. ADOBE WHY DID YOU CHANGE YOUR EXPORT VIDEO RENDERING OPTIONS in CS6?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter finally getting X6 to be stable and usable I have two things I'd like to mention..
First, I've been using a 3rd party file manager called Ztree for years and one of its most wonderful capabilities is to copy paths to the clipboard which alleviates opening/saving frustrations with the typical Windoze Explorer dialogs. Anyway, one of the first problems I noticed with X6 is that Paste no longer works in the Open Drawing dialog, while it worked just fine in X5 and as far as I can remember, all previous versions. I sure would like to get that back.
My second complaint is the File/Export routine and specifically the presets. I do a lot of exporting to PNG and JPG and use multiple presets for fixed size/print resolution image output in both file formats. During the typical export session, I essentially export multiple different drawings all of which are exactly the same size/resolution in CD and in the past (X4 and prior as I recall,) was able to just hit <Enter> when the Export dialog appeared once the preset was set to the one I needed for that session.
In X6 though (and to some degree in X5,) even though the correct preset is listed, CD doesn't appear to recognize it, i.e., the math for the size/dpi conversion doesn't take place which forces me to waste time selecting "Original" or some other preset first, waiting for CD to render the new version, and THEN selecting the conversion preset that was pre-selected when I first opened the export dialog.

I added a FILE PATH label on my titleblock but when I load it to my project file it does not show. Why it does not show, I added a new lable for CLIENT NAME it showed fine. Just to test it out I changed the lable of the second one to FILE PATH and the first one that I did to CLIENT NAME. When I loaded it to my project, the second label dissappeared and the first lable now shows.

I've exported model from blender to .fbx file. I've opened it in Max 2013 by selecting import, link fbx. Now I'm trying to export it to .obj file and after pressing ok on the export dialog the dialog stays on the stage, "preparing normals for export" - I waited for over an hour and still there - model has 59k polys so it isn't big model.

It did not do this in x4. I know that it changes my curves into a bunch of line segments and I am okay with that.
