Nov 13, 2002I'm looking at a copier that does 9600x600dpi.
I know the it does 600 dots per inch.
But what is the 9600?
Surely it cant do 9600 horizantal lines by 600 verticle.

Im running PS CS on a PC and printing (mainly photographic images) with an Epson 1290 using a continuous ink system with Ilford paper. I have calibrated my monitor using a Spyder and have had the printer/paper/ink combination profiled. Despite all of that I am still having problems getting the printed image to match the screen. Quite often there appears to be an enhanced saturated red tint over the image. On some of the B&W images I have also been getting a red/magenta cast in my white highlights!.
I have downloaded new print drivers, I have also had my profile regenerated 3 times all with no effect. I have also just connected my printer to another computer and printed the same images from Elements employing the profile for the printer/paper/ink combo. One image came out more like it should with a reduced red cast but some of the others now appeared fine of both systems after printing them one after the other, i.e. my main system is now looking OK.
I have a client that gets the error ""Before you can perform print-related tasks such as page setup or printing a document, you need to install a printer" when he tries to print from PS CS4 He has a networked printer and has Adobe PDF as his local default printer (Other CS4 applications print fine with this setup only PS gives trouble)He is running Vista Ultimate - 64 Bit and is current on his updates for Vista and PS and has plenty of RAM and scratch.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am unable to print from Photoshop CS6 to two different Epson printers - an Epson 9800 and an Epson 7880. I have tried to print from three different computers (OS 10.6 and OS 10.8) and have also tried three different USB cables. Each time I get the same results - the computer acts like it sends the data to the printer, but the printer never prints anything. I am not getting any error messages. I am attepting to print a 3960x2160, 720 DPI RGB TIF image. I tried printing from Preview as a test but that didn't work either.
Â
I have tried reinstalling drivers, turning the computer and printers on and off, cleared my caches and repaired permissions, but so far no luck.However there is ONE situation in which I am able to print - if I save the image as PDF and print it from from Acrobat, specifically with "Acrobat Color Management" selected, it WILL print. If I try to print from Acrobat with "Printer Manages Colors" selected, it will not print.
I am designing t-shirts in Photoshop that will be printed out by a number of employees in different locations, and with different printers. These designs will be printed on special A4 paper and then transferred on to the t-shirts using a heat press.Â
Â
But I am worried that I will have issues with "outside of the printable area" type errors on certain printers. I would rather not have use the "crop to fit" option as this will mean I lose quality.. Should I just set a default margin for all of my t shirt template psd files? Or is there a better way around this?
Photoshop is not recognizing any of my installed printers (inconsistently...)

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have recently installed the Adobe CS, and am running OS 10.3.3. I have two USB printers, one epson and one HP, that print fine with all other apps and are in my printer list and so on... But when I go to try to print from Photoshop, in the print dialog window, instead of my default printer being selected, the drop down menu says "No printer selected". When I go to try to select a printer from that drop down menu, my two printers are not there, and instead the only options are "Edit Printers list..." and "check for printer updates..".
I have tried everything I could think of... Like I said the printers are installed and working great in other apps, and the same menu in other applications shows both printers and lets me select them. Any suggestions? Is there a plugin or something that I need to put in a specific Adobe folder? Why don't the Adobe programs see the printers? Here's another weird thing: Adobe Acrobat does see the printers. And that is how I have to print my photoshop docs, save as PDF and then print.
I have three printers installed on this Windows Vista 64-bit machine, and they all operate normally with other applications. When I open a TIF or JPEG file in Photoshop, part of the time they open normally, and I can do print preparation and normal printing. Sometimes when I open a TIF or JPEG file, they open normally, but when I start to prepare them for printing (printer selection, etc.), a Photoshop CS4 message tells me that I have to install a printer first before I can do any printing-related tasks. It acts like there are no installed printers at all. Obviously I am not changing my printer hardware status between files that work and files that don't work.
Â
I've been trying to compare the files that work normally with the files that don't work normally, and I haven't found the trend yet. If I try to recreate thousands of files that don't work normally so that they do print, that will be a monumental job.
My printer has asked for images as follows..Final artwork must be High resolution with a transparent background
High Resolution Vector Image
in the following formats
All text converted to curves / outlines
CorelDraw  to V13
Photoshop V6
Adobe Illustrator CS4
.eps
.pdf
We have a detailed drawn image. This has been scanned at 600 dpi and put into Photoshop to enhance the image.We need to know what to do in Photoshop to meet the needs of the printer and get the best possible image for printing.
I have a Xara Xtreme Pro 4 document, a multi letter size page document with text and color images (59) pages. My intention is to create a 300 dpi PDF with included printers marks, full bleed, cut marks, etc. When I export to PDF, I select PDF/X (1a) and select export. Having sent the file to my publisher, I am told that the printers marks aren't present in the document. I have no way to verify, as when I open the document, I only see the basic document (no printers marks, etc.)
My assumption was that the printer's software would be able to see this whereas the basic PDF reader cannot. Again, I have no way to verify if the printers marks exist.
Should I be creating a larger page size to accomodate the printer's marks? What am I doing wrong in the export that the printer's marks aren't being placed?
I am sure PDF/X 5 is better and might be available in a new version of Xara, but I would think PDF/X 1a - 4 any of them should be appropriate to place the necessary marks. What don't I know?
Don't know if the PDF is worth looking at to verify, but it is 254 MB in size containing unpublished material, I don't want 'released'.
I'm on autocad 2006. I'm not sure what caused it, but about a week ago, my autocad got rid of most of the printers/plotters that showed up in the plot dialogue box. And on the ones it did keep, it added .pc3 to the end. How can I get it to find the actual printers again and not just the .pc3 files?

i want to remove all the printers i don't use from the plot > printerlist (also system printers). how can i do it?
I'm trying to populate a drop down field with the list of available printers. Here's what I have:
Â
var printerList = app.printerList;
var w = new Window ("dialog");
w.orientation = 'row';
var dropDown = w.add("statictext", undefined, "Please select the printer");
var dropDown = w.add ("dropdownlist", undefined, printerList);
dropDown.selection = 0;
var buttonGroup = w.add ("group");
buttonGroup.add ("button", undefined, "OK");
w.center();
w.show();
This will populate a drop down with "Printer, Printer, Printer, Printer" for each printer instead of the name of the printer (which is what I want).
Â
When I try:
Â
var printerList = app.printerList.name;
Â
I get a drop down of blank entries.
Â
How exactly does the printerList work?
Is there a way to change the size of the text that comes out with the printers marks?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have used Corel since Version 8.0 on Macintosh and Version X3 on PC with no problems with printing to Primera CD printers of various models. Also on Mac running Parallels and X3
I have had to go back to X3 on XP and Windows 7 to enable multiple copy printing.
Using the latest printer drivers where available and removing and reinstalling the drivers under XP and Win 7 with Corel X5 has had no effect. Both versions of windows are new clean installs on a dual processor XEON PC.
why this doesn't work. I have noted that other Primera printers have the same problem and I don't want to use the PDF option.
I am using AutoCAD 2006. Â I have a set of road plans that is 25 pages long. Â This means that I have 1 model space tab and 25 paperspace layouts. Â Each paperspace layout contains 1 viewport that shows a specific piece of my model space drawing. Â I need to be able to print these 25 layouts to multiple printers at multiple sizes. Â Specifically, I want to be able to print 11x17 sheets on printer #1, 11x17 sheets on printer #2, and 22x36 sheets on printer #2. Â I know how to create named page setups so that I can just pick which one I want to use to print. Â
Problem #1 - When I change from printer #1 to printer #2, keeping the same size (11x17) sheet, the paper moves slightly relative to my viewport that is on the page. Â Therefore, I have to move 25 viewports (1 on each page) every time I want to print my plans.
Problem #2 - When I change the size of page I want to print, the viewport does not size to the page. Â Therefore, I have to resize the 25 viewports and re-zoom their contents every time I change the size of paper I'm printing on.
Problem #3 - When I want to change the printer or size of sheet that I am using, I have to go to every layout tab and select the individual plot setup that I want to use. Â Is there a way to apply 1 named page setup to all layouts at once?
Ideally, there would be some way to link the viewport to dynamically change with changes in the paper location and size, but I'm not sure that's possible. Â
Again, I am using AutoCAD 2006.
I cannot get my program to print to any of our network printers. I am using Autocad 2013 LT with FusionWare and Windows 7 on a Macpro OSX Lion. This started being a problem a few weeks ago and the only way I can get anything printed is to make a pdf and and then print the pdf from Acrobat.
Today I brought in a HP 940c printer from home and connected it to my desktop printer. I spent an hour uninstalling and installing the drivers. I can now print from Acrobat on both the PC and Mac sides of the computer, but when I try it from Autocad I get Error_Printing in the HP printer window. No info as to what the error might be. I tried this several times, tried renaming the file with a shorter name but since the driver puts in the entire path that was a futile gesture.
So I have confirmed that the printer is functioning correctly, just not with Autocad. I realize that i do have a working workaround but it is tedius and unnecessay to keep making all those pdfs.
how to create page setups for multiple printers in a network environment?
Here is the problem:
We have 2 offices with 3-7 printers per office and each printer with different capabilities (black and white, color, 11x17, wide format, etc.). I have CAD users who know little about setting up layouts so I want to create preconfigured layouts that they can import from a template via Design Center or other means.
I know I could set up a layout for each printer, page size, plot scale, and plot style table, but that gets to be so many layout permutations that it becomes overwhelming to manage and use. Up until now I had set up PC3 files for a few commonly used printers (wide format plotter, laser, pdf) and gave them generic names with the intent that I could simply direct the output to any printer by assigning it to one of the generic PC3 files. The problem I've encountered is that over time we've acquired new printers and old printers sometimes go offline or out of service and many of the printers have incompatible printable areas and page sizes to each other, so for example a page setup that calls for an 11x17 sheet for one printer does not have an equivalent size when a different printer is assigned to the layout.
Are we stuck with having to configure setups for each and every printer and permutation?

Coworker is setting up a new Win7 (64bit) machine but we don't have the ability to upgrade CAD at this time. So running AutoCAD Mechanical 2007. (Yes we know they don't always play nice) Two other workstations here are running the same  OS & CAD and print without issues. This new machine AutoCAD does not see any system printers. Have made sure the "Hide System Printers" is not checked under options. I can add a plotter file for each system printer and that workaround  is OK, but why this one machine can't see the system printers. They are Xerox workstations on the network - not local. We have already restarted AutoCAD and restarted the PC.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've recently received a small batch of calendars from a local commercial printers. The colours are OK, but do not match the originals, especially the blue's. I've had similar problems with greetings cards from a different printer. The problem appears to be that I supply the original files in the RGB color space, but they print using CMYK.
Â
I Raw process using Lightroom 4, with adjustments if necessary being made using Elements 10. To the best of my knowledge neither of these programs have the option of editing or saving in the CMYK color space. For more accurate colours is my only option to purchase the full version of Photoshop (CS6 or CC), then convert and colour correct my images in CMYK mode before sending to the printers ?.

I started to get this strange error with my Photoshop when making a new document in Photoshop and got the following error: "cannot initiate Photoshop because Photoshop cannot create any more windows".
I thought the easiest thing to do would be to reinstall (Photoshop needs reinstalling extremely often unfortunately), but now when I try and open the program it just give an alert beep and closes back up. Even though I rarely use ImageReady, I opened that up to check and it does the same behavior.
Can anyone tell me what color settings I need to set in photoshop in order to avoid this from happening? It only happens once in a while and I don't know what I've done to fix it or screw it up. What happens is that when I'm in photoshop and I do a "save for web" my document jumps to image ready and when viewing '2 up' for optimization purposes and comparison, I realize that the original view is actually duller in color and does not look like the original in photoshop. The blacks are definitely not as black.

Up until this time I had been using SuperPaint which had the New Superbits editing plug-in to refine the pictures so they had the smoother and cleaner lines instead of looking jagged. With my new computer and printer, I'm also getting Photoshop CS packaged with Adobe Creative Suite Premium, which I have never used before. Since I have not received my order yet, I was wondering if anyone could tell me whether Photoshop has the capability of improving the older MacPaint clip art like SuperPaint did with the New SuperBits editing plug-in. Over the past two days, I have been trying like crazy to back-up my pictures with SuperPaint and then re-saving them with Graphic Converter. It's been so incredibly slow that I thought I would go ahead and ask you, the experts, if Photoshop can also improve the quality of my older MacPaint clip art or if I should continue to back-up my clip art like I have been doing.
I have just got back from the Elbow gig and pulled the images off the card. They load up in Bridge but don't have actual picture thumbnails.
