I wanted to copy some text from open office into a new page in Photoshop cs3. I know you have to treat the text first, but how? I need to edit it in Photoshop.
I tried to use Acrobat and convert the text to a PDF, but the PDF couldn't be edited after I pasted it into a Photoshop page.
There's a way to do this in Illustrator, I think. but I couldn't find it. And maybe HTML would work.
I am trying to create an action that would open a muli-page PDF file, select all the pages and place each page on its own layer, in the same Photoshop document.
Right now, it makes a new document in Photoshop of each page? Is there anyway to do this? With or without making an action?

I have three jpegs, not necessarily the same size/res. Here are the particlulars:
1) Bush, 600x914 @ 300 dpi,
2) Borat, 1024x799 @ 300 dpi,
3) Moore, 1172x778 @ 150 dpi.
I would like to place these images so that GW is between our pals. All three pics have different backgounds (caps from DVD etc).
So, ideally, I'd like to have all three images on the same (i.e. a new or different background - perhaps CLOUDS). I have a weird sense of humor.
The reason for this is that I am compiling a "Funky" movie with vids from news shows with bush, video caps from Farenheight and Borat. The images are being used as thumbnails for chapters, while the composite will be a splash screen for the begining and background for the main menu. Just something to amuze me..
I realize that there will be some differences once the images are all merged and I am more that willing to play and play and play. Just need somewhere to start.
I am having trouble placing a rollover image onto a Dreamweaver CS6 page. I use Photoshop 7.0 and the program Adobe Image Ready which came with it. I have been successfully placing my animations created in this older Image Ready software onto Dreamweaver pages.
I simply insert the image and the animation plays in live view, preview and on the web. I'm having trouble however placing animations that have rollover effects onto a web page. ImageReady gives me multiple gif files for the slices associated with the rollover instead of just one gif for an animation without rollover, and an html file if I want one. I don't know how to handle the multiple gifs and the html file.
I have a PDF file with 25 pages that I need to get into the form of an Illustrator file with 25 layers. I found the example of opening a particular page of a PDF file (using CS6), and that works. And I can create layers. But I can't figure out how to place a particular page of a PDF file into the new layer. Where/how do I provide the page info?
(I have a PostScript program that generates artwork for signs that are to be laser etched at the TechShop. The laser interface uses Illustrator and a special Print driver. I notice that opening a page from a PDF file positions the contents slightly differently than placing that page, when I do it manually, so I figured I'd create the multilayered Illustrator file by opening one page (which works) then placing all the pages in their own layers, then deleting the first page. Then the positioning will be consistent. But I'm stuck at placing a PDF page...)

I'm using an iMac and Illustrator CC. I created a text area box. I want to place text from an outside Word document into the area box. When I go to File>Place and locate the text file, I click on Place. When I'm returned to my Illustrator CC document, the original area box is deselected and my cursor is loaded and ready for me to drag out a new area box. Shouldn't the placed text fill the original area box?

I have a PNG-to-SWFutility, but when I used it on the PNG saved after I opened my PDF andexported from GIMP, the end result was not good enough. A co-worker saidGIMP couldn't make a PNG (w/transparency) with enough quality. He said we'dhave to use some other software. Part of the issue was not being able toresize without losing quality before the PNG export. True or false?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIf it's a bug, then I cannot believe it wasn't caught before the release. So here it is. I simply put artistic text down on page 1. Select the text and copy to clipboard. Add a new page and paste the text. On my computer, the text changes from artistic text (as copied to clipboard) to paragraph default text left justified across the center of the page. It doesn't matter how much text I select, it always pastes on the new page as paragraph text left justified and across the center of the page.
However, if I select artistic text and any other object, copy and paste to a new sheet, it works erectly. Apparently, I now have to select text and an object to insure that the paste feature works properly?
I recently placed text on an arc in Photoshop and found that it appears to stretch the text as well. I placed the same text on a circle in Illustrator and then placed it on top of the text in Photoshop. When the two lines of text were then made to have letters of the same height, the letters were not the same width (Photoshop letters were wider). Illustrator appears to maintain the aspect ratio of each letter when placing text on a curve while Photoshop does not.
Is this known to happen? Is there a way to place text on an arc in Photoshop that does not distort/deform the letters of the text in any way other than to place them on an arc?
I want to ultimately place some metadata such as lens focal length, time of day, exposure etc. onto an image. This could be an action that perform on each image. But it would be nice if it was automatic.
The result being to have a jpg file with this information in the corner of the image for myself and my client's reference. I can't seem to find either a plugin, action or script that will do this for me. These are simply proof / scouting shots. I would be just as happy doing this in Lightroom as well.
I want to place text in the bottom right of a series of images. The problem is not all images are the same size. Some are verticle and some are horizontal and even those arent all the same size. However, 99% are 768 high. How do I specify a certain margin from right and bottom so I can use the text action on all images regardless of image width?

I find I cannot pick up the additional text by clicking the + sign to place it on the next text cell thus linking text from page to page. Am I missing something or is such a useful facility unavailable in Lightroom? If that's the case, is there a good reason for Lightroom not offering text linking between pages?

i think this is because the point is not associated with the cloned (from xref) object? any thoughts on how to get it to work with the single object selection/insertion point prompt? in the meantime ive re-written to have a second prompt for the insertion point, which works on the cloned object.

Is there a way to turn off the box it makes you create before placing text? I would ideally like to click the "A" button for text and then start typing. I was hoping that AutoCAD could automatically generate the shape around the text on it's own instead of me having to create it first.

But when I select a text file, it says it is an unsupported format. I'm assuming it has something to do with the extra options that come with importing a text document, specific for .txt and .doc for example.
For what it's worth I was working on an alternate method by read() ing in the contents of the .txt file and setting them equal to the contents of a textFrame, however it imported the text without carriage returns/newlines and I haven't been able to result that issue.
QLeader not placing text centered to firstline
I don’t know is this a problem with a lispmy company has set up or whether it is an autoCAD error. When I go to create a leader I type LE withis short on my system for QLEADER. You can then draw your leader or entersettings One I have drawn the leader I go to placethe text the problem I then have is that sometime my text appears below theline (pic 1) and sometime appears next to the line (pic 2)

I got this weird issue when placing my custom made titleblocks in AutoCAD. All the attributes of the block jump to standard text style when placing it in my drawing. Allthough this ain't allways happening. It seems to me like there's a setting for this but i can't find out how.
It can happen suddenly too. Like when i open a new drawing and then add my titleblock, it's like it should be most of the times. Allthough when i start to edit the block (scale/move/copy,etc) it can change like you can see in the drawing below.
Offcourse, as a company, you do not want to deliver your drawings with a titleblock like this.
How do i go about placing text/symbols over the top of linework without braking the line. Is there a method of masking out the line with the text/symbol
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create a logo whose letters have an image in them - which I've got figured out (turning letters to outlines, creating clipping mask with image). The trouble is, once the image is inside the letters, I can't figure out how to then give the letters a thin stroke outline. Is this possible? The image I've placed is high contrast black and white, so when I create the clipping mask, large chunks of the letters disappear.
View 11 Replies View RelatedIn Inventor 2012, you could choose Balloon, select a part, click at some location and the Balloon was placed and finished. Now in Inventor 2013 you have to right-click and choose Continue. The same applies, when you want to place a Leader Text (and maybe elsewhere as well).
Why do we suddenly have to make two additional clicks compared to Inventor 2012. It doesn't work, that you can press Enter instead of the additional mouse clicks.
And why is the Open Drawing moved to second level. The Marking Menu is of no use, especially not in the tree browser.
Why do you Inventor designers make such changes that make Inventor more annoying to operate compared to the previous version. It should be the other way around....like the brilliant inclusion of Open Drawing.
In 2013, when I place a balloon, or drag an existing one around, the text inside the balloon either disappears or gets mundged. My hardware setting is on "Performance". I tried it on "Compatability" as well with the same results.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to place text to a "curvy" path. I took some screen shots to show you want I'm talking about.
I created a simple curvy path 1 point on each end. (I noticed I drew in a node in the middle of the curve as well. But that actually doesn't exist in the path. I created the text a reasonable size and clicked "Text Along Path". As you can see, it never starts at the beginning of the path. Ever. I have sized the font up, and it gets a little closer to the beginning, but obviously the end of the address flies off the path. I've sized down the text and it will start even further to the middle of the path.
I'm printing a document trying to get two out of each page. I imported text, formatted it within Indesign cs3 and not it's time to copy the block and paste it onto the right side of the page. But the pasted version had a .50 tab at the first word which does not exist on the original side. How do I fix this?
