View 2 RepliesIn Photoshop 6 the preview of the brushsize get almost invisible when working with low opacity, the same problem occurs when working with Dodge tool and low exposure.
In earlier versions the preview showed in 100% even if working in low opacity. Now it's impossible to se how big feather och the size of the brush without first going up too higher opacity. Can I somehow show the preview in 100% even if working in low opacity like 3%?
The brush preview size does not match brush stroke. I've insert a pic of the problem. I tried allmost everythning, but nothing works.
Â
I use a wacom tablet.
The brush size on my paint brush and clone stamp are not working properly.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI can't get the red brush preview to work.
I can change the brush size through the shortcut (alt, right-click, drag), but it doesn't preview.
Also, when I try to change the hardness, I get no preview at all either.
The command works, but all I get it a round hairline.
When my instructor shows the brush preview mode, his brush looks like the selected brush, which means that if there's a lot of feathering on it, he can see that. In the same mode and with the same cursor settings in the preferences, I only get a circle indicating the size of the brush. There's nothing to see about the relative hardness of it. COuld this be because I'm running on Windows XP? If not, how can I get to see the brush the way he does.
View 4 Replies View RelatedFor some reason brush preview has disappeared and I cannot find a way to show it again. In the Show Extras menu it is checked, but it is nowhere in the UI. I remember moving it from top left to bottom left and slightly decreasing the window size, but now its gone for good. In 3D mode the secondary view window is up there just fine.
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy friend recently bought a mac and is running CS6, the brush preview doesnt seem to be smooth as usual, as you can see the hardness is 50% and should have a soft edged preview display,
but thats not occuring, and the brush also draws with hard edges in the preview window, this was the default soft edged brush selected first.
I have collected many brushes for Photoshop (CS2) and when I open the brush list it is so large that several of the columns are not visible. How do I adjust the brush pallet to show all the brushes I have? Also, is it possible to have a preview of the brushes without actually selecting a particular brush?
View 4 Replies View RelatedIt used to be in Gimp 2.8.8 for Mac I would see the preview of the brush as the cursor so I could judge what the size was going to be now in 2.8.10 Mac (running Mavericks).
I have no preview. Just an cross hair and the brush icon. So I have to blindly guess the size of the brush. Is there a way to get this back?
I made a custom brush that worked fine until is restarted Illustrator. Now I see this until I release the pen:
When I release the pen:
I created a gradient and tried to save it for web, but the preview only showed me a dark orange color. That was the foreground color, but I don't know why that became the entire picture.
Â
Also, I saved it anyways, and when I opened the image using picasa photo viewer, the gradient showed up just as I wanted it to. However, when I placed it on a webpage, there was only a dark orange color. URL.....
Â
How do I 'resync' those settings? I'm completely new to photoshop so I have no clue how to do that.I also tried changing the foreground color to black, as he suggested. The preview still showed an orange color.
I've searched around for an answer to this, but a question for the same problem doesn't seem to have been asked anywhere that I've found, so I hope someone here might know.
I am running CS on Windows XP. I previously used the Liquify filter on a large picture with no problems. Now I want to do a new one, but the preview of Liquify won't work - the picture comes up, but I can't see the real-time changes. When I hit OK the changes show up on the picture, but since I couldn't see what I was doing, they're not what I want.
I have found where someone has had this problem, but it seems like they always had it and was never able to see the preview, which isn't the case here. I have tried updating my video driver, like someone advised in that case, but it did nothing. I made no changes to the computer's hardware since it last worked (May). I have also tried using a small file to see if it was the size of the file, but the preview didn't work then either.
I have an external drive where my file resides, with 74.5 GB free. 12.5 GB is free on my internal HD, which is where Photoshop is installed. 931 MB RAM. Since it worked before, I'm hoping it's something like clearing up more memory space on my HD.
when you create some text, highlight it, then go to the font chooser dropdown menu and use the arrows to scroll through the installed fonts, the highlighted text will change in place to the fonts you are selecting.
Is there some setting you can use to turn this on/off, because I have never seen this work once, and i'm REALLY aching for this type of functionality. So far this is the one thing about Photoshop CS that kills me is choosing from my many fonts... I always end up having to open flash, in which that feature does work for me- but it's not the same when you don't have all the rest of the design right there to be able to see the difference.
I'd like to know if there is a way to "organize" my brushes. I have gone crazy and loaded "lots" of different types of brushes. Now ... when I open up the brush pallette, it is very slow to open. So ... I need to "somehow" organize them in a way that will allow me to be able to select a brush "group" (like lightining, or edge border brushes) WITHOUT having to search and look through hundreds of brushes. I am sure there is a way, but can't seem to find the technique.
Â
Also ... I find that no matter if I have one or hundreds of brushes, I have to memorize a brush "number". Is there a way to re-label the brush name to something I can relate to?
re: NEW color picker stroke color not updating in real time (previewing).
Â
Is it me or has the stroke color preview been removed in CS6 or is there a setting that needs to be changed to enable it?
Â
The problem: When I create a shape layer, press enter and then chose a stroke color from the color picker, I select a color but it doesn't update the stroke color until I press enter. I'm sure it used to change in real time as you clicked on the color picker panel before accepting it.
Â
Further update: This is when creating a shape but using the new stroke feature in the properties bar at the top (the one which gives you the new fancy options like having a dashed, transparent or gradient stroke) and not the traditional method of adding it as an effect. This still shows a real time update, but the new method doesn't.
My brush/pencil tool isn't working in Photoshop CS5...when I try and use it it just makes a dot and doesn't allow me to draw a continuous line...

View 2 Replies View RelatedFor some reason photoshop at times will only let me erase or draw within the confines of a specific layer. It seems to happen randomly without me accidently hitting a hotkey of some sort.
Â
For instance in the image below, I was drawing and randomly I noticed I could no longer draw. It would only let me use the brush/erase tool within the confines of the line work I had already established. The only way I have been able to correct this so far is to completely restart photoshop.
I simply cannot get the brush to taper with the preset or custom settings.

I was using the "texture" feature under the brush options, under "brush tip shape" to get a pencil type texture. I've turned it on and off to color stuff and anyway, now it won't seem to turn back "on".
I've attached this image so hopefully you can see the texture. It's not a custom brush or anything. Just the basic default PS brush with "texture" chosen, now it's just a smooth line.
Â
(I've tried restarting my Mac and installed a "patch")Â
I am having problems with the free style tools, brush tool, lasso tool, etc. when I open Photoshop everything works fine but as soon as I press any key, the brush tool makes just one dot instead of a line, I can't slide any adjustment bars, like to make opacity from 0% to 100% or change diameter of the brush, any movement in the mouse is like I just made a single click, I wait around 10 minutes and everything is ok again.

I can't seem to find any other location that would be causing this issue. It's only happened since I installed CS6.
For the last three versions of Photoshop the shortcut keys [ ] for brush size stops working. Why is this not fixed? The other shortcut that shows brush size in red.

View 1 Replies View Relatedphotoshop has decided to immobilize the lock transparent pixels and more importantly the lock image pixels, therefore not allowing me to paint.
Im trying to use the brush tool with the curves layer to brush away bits i don't want to edit in the layer. the brush tool comes up in the history box but nothing is happening on the image.
Im pretty sure i need to unlock the lock image pixels button but have not idea how or why this has happened in the first place.
My history brush tool doesn't seem to work! I am doing it just as I used to use it, so I definently know how to use it. Yes, I am using it on the desired layer. I don't know why, for these past few days, it hasn't been working like it used to!
