Is there a way to unlock it?
I was editing a pic in photoshop and went to "image size" -- and it's locked. I've never had this happen and don't know what I might have inadvertently toggled on (or off)..... has this happened to anybody? I need to do to unlock the image size?

View 2 Replies View RelatedIn Photoshop CS6 why can't I unlock the background layer in a 32 bit image as you used to in CS5?
I only seam to find answers as "change it to 16 bit" but that's not a solution. In previous versions of Photoshop you were able to composite images in 32 bit.
I have been working on a piece for a little while now and it now acts as if the whole image is locked. I can toggle a layers visibility to find out that I an on the proper layer, but then I can not erase something or draw new. I noticed the last time that I was working that I could not Pencil over the entire layer as if the layer was and inch shorter than the left side of the canvas. I went down every layer and moved the cursor over the image area to see if the layer was locked. There are 27 layers. It was saved as an .XCF file.

I create a new file.. and a new imageplane.. and it's frozen in all views.. it doesn't move around as it's supposed too when I tumble.
In the image plane attributes panel the image plane is set to 'attached to camera' changing it to fixed makes no difference.
Opened a jpg file ... cropped then saved as bmp to use as texture in another program.
In explorer folders view it shows but has a locked symbol in front of it.
Try to find it from another program and it does not show in folders.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI am creating an image in Photoshop CS6. I've saved it a few times but now it's telling me the file is locked. I resaved it as something else and now the original file has vanished!

I looked at the properties of the file before it vanished and clicked the security tab and it told me I didn't have permission to view it and I had to be an administrative user, which I am. It gave the option of giving myself permission and said the previous owner may no longer have permission but there was no previous owner listed (obviously because there never was one).

These files are very important, I can't risk them just vanishing or locking me out. Why is this happening and how can I stop it?
I've recently switched from 6 to 7. When I open an image the layer is locked and I can't unlock it (greyed out). This prevents me from adding the drop shadows I need to add. Any answers out there, please?

Is there a way to change this so it is not locked everytime?
I try to open my Photoshop 7.0 I get two error messages. I don't understand why I am getting these messages, or how to fix them. The error messages appear at startup during the initializing of the Photoshop 7.0, these messages state:
Error Message 1: Can not find workspace folder.
Error Message 2: Could not initialize Photoshop because the file is locked. Use the Properties command in Windows Explorer to unlock the file.
There is no Properties command under Windows Explorer, there is one under Photoshop 7.0, but nowhere does it say "unlock file". I have seen a similar problem for the CS2 in the FAQ section, so I tried to use that fix, but it did not work. I have uninstalled & reinstalled, cleared cache, de-fragged, and unhidden the files ...
I was sent a jpg image via email, made a correction and put it on our network for another colleague to open. When she tried to open it, the following message below came up and I can’t rectify the problem and open it on my colleague’s machine.

View 6 Replies View RelatedAdobe production premium? I have this for windows. what if i wanted it for mac? If i wanted it on both windows and mac i'm guessing that would mean buying it again fully as another license? Or could it be used as the "secondary install" of the application? (I would keep this PC too). Either way, is it possible to get the program as another download using the same serial code, but one for PC (which i have), and one for mac?So i'd have one serial code but with two installers, one pc, one mac, basically.

View 2 Replies View Relatedgot my new computer---AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ CPU, 4 GB RAM, two 1 TB SATA hard disks (logical drives C:, D:, and E: on first physical hard disk; drives F: and G: and the second). Operating system is Windows XP SP2.
When I installed Photoshop CS3 10.0.1, I did not enter the serial number immediately in order to enjoy the CS3 Extended trial period (my serial number is for CS3 Standard). Eventually the trial period expired, and I entered my serial number. No problems until here.
Today I deactivated the Photoshop copy on the old machine and activated it on the new one, and that's when the problem started. Now Photoshop won't work anymore. It worked fine prior to activation.
Or actually, it
i does
work ... but only when drive C: is selected as the primary scratch disk which under Windows obviously is a bad choice. But Photoshop won't let me choose anything different. Whenever I try to deselect C: from the list of active scratch disks (remove the tick mark) or to change the order of active scratch disks so that C: is not the topmost anymore then Photoshop will refuse to re-launch.
Instead, upon re-launch it will display a message box (with 'Adobe Photoshop CS3' as the title bar and an OK button as the only option) saying, 'Could not initialize Photoshop because the file is locked. Use the "Properties" command in the Windows Explorer to unlock the file.' Of course, it doesn't bother to say what file it is talking about, or what 'locked' is supposed to mean. Explorer's 'Property' command does not provide any means to 'lock' or to 'unlock' a file. To get out of this situation, I have to delete Photoshop's preferences file which leaves me where I started, i. e. with drive C: as the primary scratch disk. I can always add more drives to the list of active scratch disks. But I must not remove C: from the top of that list or Photoshop won't work anymore.
But I want Photoshop to use G: as the scratch disk. It worked fine that way until I carried out the $#!%@ activation procedure!
What is/are the benefits of having every background layer of a newly opened document locked? I have never come across a need for it and wish it wasn't. It only means I have to create a new layer and import an image to that. Or, double click the layer to unlock it. Is there a way to permanently eliminate that "preference?" It's like entering a room with your shoes tied together.

After opening a RAW file in ACR CS6, Win 7, the outline is constrained to a 3:2 box. When I drag down, it's a vertical 3:2 box. I try clicking on the crop icon at top, but there's no response. There's no drop down menu when I click the icon. Otherwise, ACR works fine, using the 2012 methods.Â
