View 6 RepliesDoes the font interface in Photoshop show big enough in Windows 7?
I purchasde a new Pc with Windows 8, and the Photoshop and Bridge Interface is not readable, it is miniscule, Adobe, Microsoft and DEll cannot fix problem. So I am returning my PC, and need to purchase a new one, if the font is big enough, say size 12 or 14 (normal size) on window 7?
In CS5 I have the interface set up so that the windows dock but when there are no windows open you can see the desktop.
In CS6 there is this big ugly black panel on show all the time Have tried to compare the setting but cannot see any options that are fundermentally different.
Can I remove this background and if so how to do this.
I'm just learning CS6 and folllowing the TV tutorial and it shows the desktop showing through the screen of Illustrator and checking a button called application frame under the windows tab. This button is not in my drop down list. I should be able to see the desktop behind or in the frame shouldn't I?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was downloading some images from a Sandisk Extreme 111 CF 4Gb card (from a Canon 5d) and suddendly the card disappeared. At first I saw the previews in the LR "Import" dialog, but some quirk in the reader, or USB connection, caused the card to unmount. After that it won't mount or appear on the desktop.
Just to check, I put the CF card back in the camera and the first thing I got was a message sayin "Card not formatted".... even though I was shooting with it a few minutes earlier...

X5 over top of an X4 window. Everything on and inc desktop is affected inc pallet which is supposed to be CMYK. White now = beige . When I first opened X5 it came up with some issue about the monitor profile. Weird thing is I will open it 10 mins later and it will behave normal - all back to looking like X4.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create a high-res desktop background image (1680 x 1050) with a gradient-fill, but the "steps" between the color changes in the background are obvious and I'd like them to be smoothed out. I know that the fill steps are much smoother when a shape is smaller, but I want this to be high-quality and sharp at full size.
Can the "steps" be adjusted to be smaller, or is there a better way I could go about achieving a smoother fill?
Here's an illustration of what I'm talking about. Hopefully it's obvious enough up on this image (you may have to view it full size):
I'm wondering how in the attached image they were able to make the white leather background show through the red type? Is it just playing with the opacity? The type feels too opaque for that to be the only thing done.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhere did the checkerboard go, and how can I get it back? It's pretty useless to see glossy materials without it "glossing" anything but a solid color. ha
I'm sure I'm being stupid and overlooking something obvious, like when people ask where those arrow thingies went (the gizmo).
I wanna confirm this bug. I'm almost sure it's generalized but who knows. But in most systems I've tried I couldn't get Gradient Ramp to show as viewport background when using Nitrous.
System specs vary greatly from Mac Pros to Dells and ATI and Geforces and one QuadroFX 3700. Most with recent graphic drivers.
I am trying to do some very basic stuff. I have a brown background and I want white letters on top of it. I have tried setting the Primary color to white and the Secondary color to brown, vice versa, and also setting both Primary and Secondary to white. No matter what I do, my letters don't show up, presumably because they are brown.
How do I get white text to actually show up on a brown background?
I need to create pattern using a simple shape and a background colour – the catch is they both need to be exactly the same colour.
For example ideally I would like to lower the transparency of the shape to around 30% so it’s lighter. Then put down a completely opaque background colour and move the shape onto the background. Logically I understand that making the shape transparent means it won’t show up on a background that is opaque... The only other option I've found is adjusting the colour saturation however this seems to have the same affect as it being transparent. There must be an adjustment option that I don't know about?
Flipping the idea vice versa seems to be no problem, having a 30% transparency on the background colour and an opaque shape works well however this isn’t what I’m trying to do.
I know it’s possible as I’m trying to replicate a pattern background we already use. Unfortunately I only have the screen shot jpeg of the background that has been OK to use on small designs in the past. Now I’m attempting to re-create it properly as a vector so I can blow it up to 2metres x 1metre for an exhibition stand without worrying about pixelating.
I just finished installing AutoCAD C3D 2013. And my drawings and designs were done on C3D 2011 AutoCAD, but the problem now is when i open my drawings with C3d 2013 all the text that has background in it shows black in a paper space but on model space is owk, is there a way of resolving this without goiung through all the text settings.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm on Civil3d 2010. I have a drawing where i have background masks on most of my text - everything works great. Then I did a "Save As" to give the drawing a new name. After working in it for a day or so, I noticed that all of the text masks don't show. When I hover over mtext (or blocks with mtext), a border shows around the text (only when hovering). But bottom line is the background mask doesn't show at all or print. The original drawing is still fine.
I've checked and this has nothing to do with line merge in the pc3 file etc.
While I still try, unsuccessfully, to get Gimp to run on my Mac...
I'm not a graphic artist, but I do have a task I would like to accomplish, so a couple of quick questions?
It's been over 10 years since I experimented with graphics software of any kind other than resize and/or convert from one format to another.
Scenario to illustrate my question:
I create a new graphic, of X by Y proportions. Create a black circle in the center of the graphic. Save graphic.
When I import the graphic into a document, web page, email composition window, etc., I would like only the black circle to display when the background is a color other than white. IOW, I want the unused/blank part of the graphic to be transparent.
I've found the online manual to be confusing to follow, since I can't easily "thumb" through the pages to see a picture of the effect I want to accomplish, and I'm not sure of the correct terminology.
I found a PDF manual for 2.4, are there instructions that cover this? I'm not really interested in printing it, or having it printed. If the manual were for 2.6, I would consider having it printed.
When i using a Type tool always showing a dark background so i can't see any text

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy company is switching from ctb files to stb files. With the ctb file, we make concrete hatch with two layers. A top layer with the concrete hatch pattern and a background layer with a solid hatch patern. The ctb file concrete plots the concete hatch black and the solid background hatch light gray. I am using civil 3d 2013 and the hatch allows a seperate background color mask. I am trying to make all my concrete layers (Top of Curb, Curb Flowline, etc.) a certain color scheme, i.e. shades of green. I would like my on screen concrete hatch patern to be a green color with a gray background, but plot the concrete hatch black with a gray background. I can not figure out how to do this without making two layers. Is there a way to use one layer and utilize the background color mask to show on screen green and gray, but plot black and gray?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I toggle the interface on/off it causes missing menu toolbar items and icons until I exit and restart Photoshop CS4. I know this can happen if problem filters are installed. So I have the latest Alien Skin filters installed and have already followed their AutoLayer2.8li file updates to resolve Windows Photoshop CS4 issues. I also have Luxology imageSynth 2.0 filter installed. So since all my filters are updated to CS4 compatible versions, I shouldn't have this problem but yet it occurs. I'm using WinXP SP2, 4 GB RAM, GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 with newest 185.85 driver. I have 3D canvas rotation turned on.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just recently upgraded from CS2 to CS4 and am finding it changed enough that it's slowing me down. I have a couple questions I hope someone can answer.
What is bothering me the most is that when I left click over an image I no longer can duplicate it, or change its size. I'm stuck with going to the menus and that takes longer than what I'm used to.
I've also been unable to figure out how to split the properties panels that now want to form two columns instead of one, and I haven't figured out how to break any given panel up and use only the part I want.
I am using the application frame in CS6 in a MAC environment (OSX 10.7). The interface tends to move around on the monitor getting lodged up under the OS menu bar.
Is there a way to lock the interface on the monitor like it its done on a Windows 7 OS?
upgrade from Elements but I have aging eyes. I cannot see the icons and fonts.

When I select the eydropper and I drag it outside Photoshop to sample a color of an image (in another window) everything seem to "move" in photoshop until I reach that image. When I say move it's the view that's moving not the layers etc.
How to make photoshop "view" stand still while i'm dragging the eyedropper out ?
we discovered a potential bug or issue in photoshop:under daily working conditions, 8h per day, during the last months/year i can observe the following behavior:suddenly, at any action, the photoshop interface (all palettes, windows, everything) freezes and doesnt react on any mouse or button command. can wait for minutes, nothing happens.
found workaround: switch to finder by clicking with mouse pointer into the finder desktop, and switch back to photoshop > interface is back and reacts again, everythings fine. condition of bug: very annoying but can live with it so far through my workaround frequenzy: several times a day (up to 20 or 30 times per day)
