View 2 Replies View RelatedI am going to try a cd layout. When I open the templates in Photoshop 7 do I have to choose 300 dpi (the same dpi required for the images I have saved); make all the same choices as I have to for the images, (ie) CYMK, 5x5 inches, 300 dpi etc.? When I have the template open, what is the best way to bring the image to the template?
Is the template considered a layer? Do you always see the template through the image as you are working with layers? What is the easiest way to start another layer? How do you save each layer? How do I make my jpg become a photoshop file? Some of these Qs might be dumb but if you can answer them I may be able to fly.

I've seen that there's a technique to define the four corners and repeat the main element so that the rectangle can be adapted to the dimension of the content.

how designers take their Photoshop comps to a CSS-based layout. With CSS-based layouts, web pages are composed of a combination of foreground (standard) and background (CSS) graphics. I'm curious how designers get those images out of Photoshop and into a web authoring environment (be it Dreamweaver, GoLive or Notepad :-).
1. Do you make a selection, copy, create a new file and use the Save for Web feature?
2. Do you slice up the comp for both foreground and background images and then choose Save for Web?
3. Do you use a combination of 1 and 2?
what are the proper dimensions used for creating a photoshop layout for a website, nowadays?
i used to do '779 by 434'. but now i tried '950 by 550'. is that ok? (i prefer to horizontally center the layout).

how most designers on here go about spacing their buttons in your regular horizontal nav display.
Usually, I will make a selection around the entire nav bar and then use "Distribute Horizontal Centers" to center each button or text layer. Of course, this distributes by the center of each text button.
way to make the spacing the same in between each button.
