I have a PSD file that is not opening in PS6, the version I have installed. I suspect it's due to the fact that this PSD was generated by a newer photoshop version that is not compatible with PS6
2 questions:
1- is it possible to convert a PSD file generated by a newer PS version to PS6?
2- is it possible to detect which PS version was used to generate a PSD?

I usually work with blender and I have a problem with a file I downloaded. It is a parasolid file (x_t) which I can't open in Blender. I can't use CADexchanger as well because I am using a MAC. How to convert the file into a STL/OBJ/3DS file that I can import in Blender? I compressed the file and it is 5.8 MB so I can't attach it here and would have to send it manually.

Not sure if this can be done, i have a web development project to start but have been given a lot of PSD files. Normally this would be ok as i would just bounce them to HTML. The problem i have is they are all set to 300dpi. Is there a quick way to convert them to 72dpi? I don't like the idea of have to convert each layer.

Alright, so I'm a photoshop intermediate who's really used this fine program for making web images and a few other things. Now, I've gotten into print advertising at work (yeah, get me to do it rather than outsource it and then pay me a lot less for the effort.
My issue is that I can make ads in B&W or 4C, no problem. This issue comes when I want to do a 2 color ad using a specific color. In my naivety, I presumed using 2 colors in Photoshop and outputting to a CMYK TIFF would be sufficient. The printer has informed me otherwise.
I received specific menu choices for Color Settings from a commercial printer I use. I went to Edit<Color Settings and saved them as a .csf file in User/Library/Applications Support/Adobe/Color/Settings. I named the .csf file after the printer. When I go back into Edit<Color Settings and open the Settings menu I am able to choose the settings I saved from the list of settings. Now I open an image in PhotoShop and go to Edit<Convert to Profile.
In the dialog box I open the Profile menu, but the settings I saved in Edit<Color Setting are not one of the Profile choices. Am I confusing Setting and Profiles? How do I Convert an image file to the setting given me by the printer? I also wanted to proof as per the printer's settings. When I go to View<Proof setup<Custom I can choose Working CMYK Web Coated SWOP 2006 Grade 3 Paper, which is generally the profile this printer is using. But I can't choice my specific color settings saved under the printer's that I previously saved in Edit<Color Settings. In the Proof Setup dialog box when I press the load button I can navigate to the Settings folder where my .csf file is saved, but it is greyed-out so I can't choose it.
