I managed to take some photos of the biggest fish in the sea, these really are once in a life time photos for me. Unfortunately I lost my underwater camera and the one I hired was not such good quality.
I would really like to "fix" these as much as possible. Their is alot of noise, the colour is off - the photos lack detail in either the shark, or myself. I was thinking I would have to work on the images separating myself and the shark and clean them up seperatlely. Either that or take the best photos of the shark, and the best images of me and combine them. Some people may say this is fake but IMHO it's just recreating
I received a fax and the print is faint & fuzzy. I need to sharpen the print...
View 7 Replies View RelatedI need to use Color Variations under the Enhance > Adjust Color menu, but it's greyed out when I scan in an image. I know it doesn't work with Indexed Color images, but I don't think that's what I'm scanning in. I'm using Photoshop Elements 9 and an Epson Perfection V700 Photo scanner.
Looking for the steps for scanning so that I can actually use this option? It's very important.

View 11 Replies View RelatedPSE11, expert mode, when select enhance/adjust levels/lighting - the histogram does not 'pop up' as it did before, instead the dropper draw icon is enable and the only way to disable the dropper is alt F4, this is happening with other enhance options as well.
Note that the quick and guided mode are still working.
Expert mode was working fine till about 2 weeks ago, the only updates that have been done to the laptop have been the microsoft auto updates.
OS win 7
Java 7.45
flash player 12 active x
Have done an uninstall and reinstalled, but the issue still remains.
Need to understand what has caused the expert mode enhance options to be unusable.
I have Elements 10. Whenever I try to edit, brighten, enhance in any way animated GIF files with Photoshop, after I save the files again on my computer, the files no longer are animated, I.E they don't move no more.
I save the files as GIFs. The files were originally saved to my computer right, they moved like they should. How can I edit animated GIF files and still have them be animated?
I'm trying to compare a selection made with the Auto-Enhance check box on and off with the Quick Selection tool, though I'm not seeing a difference. My understanding is that it gives the selection a smoother, less blocky edge,
1. even though I'm not seeing a difference, is there a reason to just not keep it checked all the time?
2. Can you apply this checkbox after making a selection or only prior to doing one?
When I use the 'Convert to Black and White' menu option in Photoshop Elements 10, it does a good job, but it still leaves the file in RGB format (Colour)??
I am working for a Publishers, and I keep forgetting to convert the file to Grayscale after running the Wizard.
Wouldn't it have been easier to add this as an option at the end, and have they done this in Photoshop Elements 11 (or later...)?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI use PaintShopPro to improve on screen captures for an instructional book that I publish. In the past I have used PSP version 9. It Automatically Enhance Contrast does just what I want but I cannot find this feature in version X4

I'm planning to start using Gimp for editing my photos. However, I've been looking through the functions, and I've also read the online manual. But there are two things I can't find.
1. How can I darken the highlights in a photo?
2. Is it possible to enhance the contrast in more detail than on a general level, e.g. midtone contrast only?

(define (do-many dir) (let* ((files-list (car (cdr (file-glob dir 0)))) (do-one (lambda (f) (gimp-color-balance)))) (plug-in-color-enhance RUN-NONINTERACTIVE image drawable) (plug-in-unsharp-mask RUN-NONINTERACTIVE image drawable 5.0 0.5 0) (map do-one files-list)))
Now i tried this in the console but the script stops no matter what part i try to fix.
I work at a business that had something stolen from us. Via the security cameras we have the license plate, however it was zoomed pretty far and is therefore pretty pixelated. I'm wondering if anyone can help me sharpen it up. I know this isn't the movies and it doesn't just work like that, but I figure something should be able to be done.
I have tried unsharp mask, I have tried edge detect. I don't know a whole lot about photoshop though.
I know what state the license plate is which would pretty much be impossible to tell from the camera, I am just trying to figure out the actual plate.
If it's not against the rules of the forum, I can post a picture here. I saw the "request for work" thread but it said that I would have to pay and considering how the economy is on businesses right now that's just not possible. I'm really just looking for how to do it if no one can look at it for me.

I started to get this strange error with my Photoshop when making a new document in Photoshop and got the following error: "cannot initiate Photoshop because Photoshop cannot create any more windows".
I thought the easiest thing to do would be to reinstall (Photoshop needs reinstalling extremely often unfortunately), but now when I try and open the program it just give an alert beep and closes back up. Even though I rarely use ImageReady, I opened that up to check and it does the same behavior.
Can anyone tell me what color settings I need to set in photoshop in order to avoid this from happening? It only happens once in a while and I don't know what I've done to fix it or screw it up. What happens is that when I'm in photoshop and I do a "save for web" my document jumps to image ready and when viewing '2 up' for optimization purposes and comparison, I realize that the original view is actually duller in color and does not look like the original in photoshop. The blacks are definitely not as black.
View 1 Replies View Relatedwhen I got my first Macintosh IICX and all of my MacPaint clip art. I don't want to get rid of the clip art because since I'm still using a black ink printer and not upgrading to a color one, the clip art looks nice in newsletters and the like.
Up until this time I had been using SuperPaint which had the New Superbits editing plug-in to refine the pictures so they had the smoother and cleaner lines instead of looking jagged. With my new computer and printer, I'm also getting Photoshop CS packaged with Adobe Creative Suite Premium, which I have never used before. Since I have not received my order yet, I was wondering if anyone could tell me whether Photoshop has the capability of improving the older MacPaint clip art like SuperPaint did with the New SuperBits editing plug-in. Over the past two days, I have been trying like crazy to back-up my pictures with SuperPaint and then re-saving them with Graphic Converter. It's been so incredibly slow that I thought I would go ahead and ask you, the experts, if Photoshop can also improve the quality of my older MacPaint clip art or if I should continue to back-up my clip art like I have been doing.
