PS crashes after aborted Lightroom 4 install. I have an iMac on OSX 10.5.8 running CS5. I recently tried to install Lightroom 4 and did not realise my OSX is too old. Therefore it crashed. Now PS will not start and I keep getting an error. If I have to repair or uninstall/reinstall, how do I save my workspace settings? Is there a way to repair without doing an uninstall/reinstall?
View 5 RepliesAfter install, LR4 tries to build a catalog. The problem is I have terabytes of images. LR uses the ADD EVERYTHING (opt out) mentality and of course fails miserably and after a few hours crashes (probably the 4GB catalog file limit). Anyway - I'd like to instruct LR to only catalog my working folder... not everything I've done for 30 years.
Bridge and CS5 don't seem to have issues like this... but I'd like to learn a bit about LR because some people say there are a few small advantages over CS.
Is there a replacement plug in similar to the "Variations" command that was thoughtlessly aborted in CS6... ANYTHING SIMILAR AT ALL.
I know what all you "pros" will say, but I have been using it since it was created and I like it
I had both Inventor 2012 and 2013 (and entire Product design suite of both program versions) installed on my Win 7 64 bit Dell Precision Laptop, all working flawlessly. On recieving a copy of 2014 I decided to uninstall Inventor 2012 which I carried out through Add/Remove programs in Windows 7. Then I tried to launch Inventor 2013 and got an 0xc0000005 system error as per attachment 1.
I then went through the entire removal process to completely remove Autodesk products to do a fresh install of Autodesk 2014. This worked out and I did everything exactly as suggested here... [URL]
Then I disabled my Avast virus checker and stopped the process via task manager.
I then did a complete fresh install by right clicking on the Setup file on the Product design Suite 2014 dongle and choosing "open as administator" which I started without any issues. The installation then stopped while installing INventor 2014 with a 1406 error as per attachment 2. I searched the registry for the file mentioned in attachment 2 and deleted it from the registry and clicked retry and the installation finished without any further errors. I then restarted my computer and launched Inventor and again I recieved the 0xc0000005 error.
I then updated Inveontor with the DL21503391 update 1 from here... [URL]
I then updated 360.
I then tried to relaunch Inventor by right clicking and choosing "run as administrator" and proceeded to get the error 0xc0000005 as per attachement 1.
Obviously uninstalling 2012 is where the system 0xc0000005 issue began. I am trying to avoid a fresh Win 7 install.
I have installed ATI Firepro 2250 (256 MB) Graphics Card with my Dell T5500 Workstation. When we are open Inventor its crash automatically & shows error report send notification. I have send many times this report but no reply. I have worked Inventor 2010 all service pack applied.

I have CS2 Premium which I'm running on an older PowerPC Mac (G5 - Dual 2.3 GHz ) running OS 10.4.11. I've had this setup for many many years (registered/activated with Adobe) but suddenly one day I could no longer launch my Photoshop app: when I clicked on the Pshop icon it would start the launch (open) procedure ... and then almost instantly it would quit (in just a few seconds ... before the application even got to the 'title/credit' screen).
I've recently tried uninstalling CS2 (everything except Acrobat) and I ended up doing a manual uninstall of Version Cue. I've been on Macs for 20+ years so figured this would be a pretty straightforward procedure - uninstall -> reinstall and then back to work. Nope.
I'm attempting a fresh installation direct from the original CS2 CDs. In any event, when I try to (re)install CS2 - and after going through the standard screens with Adobe's usage terms agreement and installation hard disk selection - I arrive at the screen where one selects which application(s) to install by checking the various boxes (or alternately, to install the entire suite) but the 'Adobe Photoshop CS2/Adobe ImageReady CS2' line and checkbox are grayed out, so it will not allow me to check them and continue with the Photoshop installation process.
Running Windows 7 Pro, 64bit on Intel i5, 2.80GHx, 12GB RAM, with ATI Radon 5770. All drivers are current. will crash after only one or two applications.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThis is a problem that has eluded me for a while. Im running Lightroom 3 and photoshop cs5 (both have the latest updates) . Now I've created droplets that run various actions. In lightroom I export images and use export actions dialog box to have lightroom run the droplet.
However now I get a "photoshop cs5 has stopped responding" and a "droplets can not communicate with photoshop.
Im running windows 7 64bit
Things I've tried
restarting both programs rebooting the computer running lightroom and photoshop as an admin recreating the droplets and telling windows to run the droplets as an admin
I have Lightroom 2 and never installed onto my Macbook Pro. I have since updated my software accordingly and now they don't 'play' well together.

Instead, it just installs in the default folder that all Adobe applications do, which is Program Files/Adobe/. All my other applications install in the folder I've specified but LR5 doesn't.
I've updated the Adobe Application Manager and ran the Creative Suite Cleaner but I'm not able to get it installed where I want.

1- I open the program from the desktop. It shows the spash screen, shows the workspace for a couple of seconds, and then crashes with the message:

I am using the latest version.My video card drivers are totally up to date.I am using a decent computer with 16 gig of ram.I am opening the program as an administrator.I have reset the prefrences too many times to count by deleting the prefrences and holding down ctrl+alt+shift at startup.
2- If by some wild stretch of the imagination I get the program to start with totally cleared prefrences and running as administrator then the program will crash about 75% of the time when using "Save As".If I try to do anything special like create a new folder to put the file into then the chances of a crash increase greatly.
3- If I try to open up a file from Lightroom, even if the files are opening every other way, Photoshop will crash very often.
What is going on here? I have made no changes to my computer, have not installed any new programs, and, as I stated earlier, have everything updated. I even stopped using plugins a long time ago because I did not want to take the chance that it was going to cause this fragile program to crash, so all plugins are uninstalled. Why does this keep happening? When this has happened before everything will work fine for months and then suddenly I cannot get the program to open. When it does open again, for seemingly as unknown a reason as when it stopped, it will work anywhere from a few minutes to another couple of months.
This seems to be a problem that tons of people have, but I have not been able to find any answer other than "Delete Settings" or "Run as Administrator" or "Update *****." What can I do to keep this from happening and to fix it when it happens?
During a clean install of LR4 it comes up with an "Import" dialogue box for importing into LR4.
However my Pics are on an external usb drive and the LR3 Cat I saved to usb. Whats the process to install this type of setup
I cannot find how to install ICC profiles other than the provided defaults of ProPhoto, Adobe RGB and Adobe sRGB. How to install additional ICC profiles.

I installed Silver EFX Pro (1) and Color Efex Pro 4 after LR5 +.3 upgrade, and theres nothing in the plugin manager except what came on the LR5 installation disk.
