Jun 11, 2012In previous versions I have been able to resize the canvas and then resize the image. For example resize the canvas to 250px x 250 px. Then resize the image to the same.
Here is the process I am using:
Duplicate the layer and then hide it. Resize the canvas (Image > Canvas Size) to 250px x 250 px. Un-hide the layer and then resize the image (Image > Image Size). When I go into Image>Image Size it says that the image is already 250px x 250px. However if I try to transform the scale the image is the original size and not 250px x 250px
The reason for needing this is I resize image size (in bulk) and the canvas size using the batch process (file>automate>batch) and actions. I loaded the actions file I used in previous versions, but that did not work correctly. I then went in to do this manually and got the same results.
Photoshop :: Canvas Resize Anchor
Jul 4, 2009I have Version 10.0.1 and up to two days ago I could select resize canvas, change the pixels, select the appropriate anchor and all went well. Now, for some reason I can no longer select an anchor point. Absolutely nothing happens if I click on one of the arrows. I have checked Image mode and it is RGB 8bit. I have gone through all of the settings I can think of and no luck. I cannot remember making any change that would affect this function but apparently I did. I doubt the program just decided to quit. My OS is XP Pro but that hasn't changed. Nothing has that I can think of Does anyone have any idea what I need to do to get this to function again?

Even when I reconnected the second monitor the grey Photoshop background is still extended beyond the beyond the bottom of the monitor. I can't grab with my mouse. How do I resize this so it fits back within the limits of my monitor? And when switching back to MacBook what is there a way to have Photoshop resize to fit within the screen?

May 30, 2012I'm on a Win7, 64bit, with CS6 (13.0 (13.0 20120315.r.428 2012/03/15:21:00:00). The keyboard shortcut to bring up the Canvas resize menu is ctl+alt+c. That combination does nothing. If I add the Windows key to the combo, then it will bring up the Canvas resize menu. Could others check to see if it works for them or have I found another bug?

Sep 3, 2013The problem is that the screen is only partly visible and it is the top half that is missing, thus the tool bar is not available. The usual dragging of the corner or edge does not work, so as it is this part of the programme is not usable at all. The settings (resolution etc) seems fine. Further more the problem is new, it has not happened previously. No such problems with the edit screen.

Jun 12, 2013Gimp needs the features found in ms paint. Lots of people do pixel art. Just add some new buttons. Specifically the features I am looking for:
-Re-size canvas using border nodes instead of using menus.
-Uncluttered save feature. Remove export completely. The save file list should include all file types. A bmp should end up a bmp. Let the user set their preference to the default.
- an all in one: select, float, move, anchor select tool( with background transparency toggle). For rapid manipulation of simple objects. (the select tool as used in ms paint)
Gimp has the potential to include each and every feature from ms paint. I see no reason not to. The video game market share alone should be enough incentive to take pixel art seriously. Ive tried inkscape and pencil and graphics gale etc. Gimp is the closest one so far.

Apr 4, 2006I'm having trouble getting both of my printers to print out to the same tone/colour that is displayed on my Monitor. Neither are accurate
Is there anything I can do with my monitor settings, or my photoshop/illustrator colour settings so that what I see on the screen is what will be printed out.
The printers are :
1) Hewlett Packard 1220C
2)Epson Stylus 2100
They both print out differently.
For the HP printer I've looked at the 'Image Colour Management' and it states the 'ICM is handled by host'
For the Epson printer the Colour Management is set to 'Automatic: Windows will automatically select the best colour profile from the list of associated color profiles'
I know it's possible to change the Color Setting in Photoshop but I don't really know what to set it to, and who to set it so it's as close to my monitor display as possible. (I work with RGB colour)

Mar 29, 2012When I move a canvas around the screen, if I take it too near the top it will snap to the top of the screen and take up the whole page with just this one canvas. How do I stop it from doing this? I guess its in options somewhere but as I dont know what its called I dont know what to search for? Nov 11, 2012Normally I use two monitors, but I'm travelling. Because I last placed the extrude box on my other monitor I can no longer get access to it on the only screen I have left. Normally, as with any window, you could hit Alt+Space and M but....the blasted mini-toolbar takes focus first!! It seems that all the other menus don't have this, only extrude. Is there any way to reset menus when disconnecting? There really should be. I'd say that the program ought to know that there is only one monitor connected and respond accordingly.

i just reinstalled windows after using linux for a few months , gimp worked fine in linux (ubuntu x64) with the same hardware. i had the problem before in windows and i have it again with a fresh install
i have tried gimp 2.8.0, 2.8.2 and the same problem with the new one (2.8.4), same problem aswell with gimp 2.9 development builds. gimp 2.6 works fine with no screen tearing at all.

An obvious 'solution' is to install Linux as a VM under Virtualbox.

VideoStudio :: How To Resize Image To Fit Screen
Feb 13, 2012I'm a new user and cannot find how to re-size image in the user manual. I'm sure I have everything set up wrong. I'm making a time lapse movie from images taken on my 35mm camera.
I want the movie to be wide format 1080p. Once the images are imported, I have the extra space on the sides of the screen due to the difference in format of the 35mm images which I expected.
But I cannot find how to zoom the whole thing in to fill the wide format screen. I have tried the FX/Cropping filter but it only crops inside the existing area and doesn't zoom the whole thing in to fit the window. What am I doing wrong?

Aug 17, 2012I have a netbook Acer AspireOne D255e, which max resolution is 1024x600. When I try to run GIMP, it's impossible to use it, because all the tools disappear on the window.
Is there the possibility to resize the GIMP window to fit on my screen?
