View 5 Replies View Relatedi have around 500 eps formats images with different artboard size.
i need to resize the artboard to A4 size and the images to be placed in the centre of the artboard.
I am making a website on Illustrator 1,200 px 1,200 px. When i export it to .PSD i open it as a much larger file in pixels than this and with a whole Canvas/ Artbord white area which i don't need.
Is there any way to keep the page size like the final ouput without the white canvas area in the export?
In CS5, if you hold the ALT key (on windows, not mac) while resizing the artboard, it will scale from the center... creating an even width reduction/ increase on either side of the page. Why was this behavior removed in CS6?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have over 400 AI files to process and I need to change the artboard size to the following specifications exactly on all files:
X: 108 px
Y: -108 px
W: 216 px
H: 216 px
Any script for this? I did some digging and came up empty.
I'm trying to resize my artboard to an exact mm size via a script so then I can add this to a batch i'm trying to achieve.
I've been trying to use the following, but i cant work out how to add the size I want in mm?
#target illustrator
var doc = app.activeDocument;
var docVB = doc.visibleBounds;
var myVisibleBounds = doc.visibleBounds; //Rect, which is an array;
myVisibleBounds[0] -= 20; //left coordinate (use negative values to add artboard)
myVisibleBounds[1] += 20; //ltop coordinate
myVisibleBounds[2] += 20; //right coordinate
myVisibleBounds[3] -= 20; //bottom coordinate (use negative values to add artboard)
doc.artboards[0].artboardRect = myVisibleBounds;
Sometimes when I drag a new symbol instance to my artboard and resize it, the instance looses it alignement with the pixel grid.
This happens despite the fact that...
I checked the box for pixel grid alignement when I created the documentthe symbol option is set for align to pixel gridthe original shape in the symbol is aligned to pixel grindthe original shape has the align to pixel grid check box in the transform panel checked
So why when I resize the symbol instance does it break the pixel grid alignmnet and result in a blurred 1px stroke?
In previous versions I have been able to resize the canvas and then resize the image. For example resize the canvas to 250px x 250 px. Then resize the image to the same.
Here is the process I am using:
Duplicate the layer and then hide it. Resize the canvas (Image > Canvas Size) to 250px x 250 px. Un-hide the layer and then resize the image (Image > Image Size). When I go into Image>Image Size it says that the image is already 250px x 250px. However if I try to transform the scale the image is the original size and not 250px x 250px
The reason for needing this is I resize image size (in bulk) and the canvas size using the batch process (file>automate>batch) and actions. I loaded the actions file I used in previous versions, but that did not work correctly. I then went in to do this manually and got the same results.
1.) I dragged out vertical and horizontal guides from the rulers and then created a new art board. The new art board now has the horizontal guides carried over from the first art board. How can I have separate guides on each of my art boards? I am using art board rulers.
2.) Is there a way to layout vertical and horizontal guides on an art board and copy them over to a new blank art board?
I have Version 10.0.1 and up to two days ago I could select resize canvas, change the pixels, select the appropriate anchor and all went well. Now, for some reason I can no longer select an anchor point. Absolutely nothing happens if I click on one of the arrows. I have checked Image mode and it is RGB 8bit. I have gone through all of the settings I can think of and no luck. I cannot remember making any change that would affect this function but apparently I did. I doubt the program just decided to quit. My OS is XP Pro but that hasn't changed. Nothing has that I can think of Does anyone have any idea what I need to do to get this to function again?

That combination does nothing. If I add the Windows key to the combo, then it will bring up the Canvas resize menu. Could others check to see if it works for them or have I found another bug?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI had a situation where I resized a photo to 7x7 inches and needed a canvas of 8x10 for retail photo processing. I had to enlist a friend to make this happen for me on her photoshop product. That prompted me to want to upgrade to a new software product. Will Photoshop Elements 12 allow me to do this? If not, what product will?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI need to resize the canvas for some custom work. All I can accomplish is to resize the canvas and then do a crop and paste to the correct size. Why is the canvas resize locked into proportional sizing only?
Is there another setting I could change? The added steps of cropping and pasting to get to the right canvas size is a hassle.
Gimp needs the features found in ms paint. Lots of people do pixel art. Just add some new buttons. Specifically the features I am looking for:
-Re-size canvas using border nodes instead of using menus.
-Uncluttered save feature. Remove export completely. The save file list should include all file types. A bmp should end up a bmp. Let the user set their preference to the default.
- an all in one: select, float, move, anchor select tool( with background transparency toggle). For rapid manipulation of simple objects. (the select tool as used in ms paint)
Gimp has the potential to include each and every feature from ms paint. I see no reason not to. The video game market share alone should be enough incentive to take pixel art seriously. Ive tried inkscape and pencil and graphics gale etc. Gimp is the closest one so far.
One of our biggest concern right now is animation made with Adobe Edge can't scale and resize like Flash or Canvas (and we are not talking about fluid or responsive design) Is that true? Our animations need to allow user zoom in or zoom out without any restrictions, can we build our animation with Adobe Edge?
View 18 Replies View RelatedI have a big artboard with a simulation of a webpage, and a smaller artboard within it, where I'm designing the artwork, so that I know how the big picture will look. In the end, I intend to export the contents of the small artboard. The problem is that whenever I click by accident on the small artboard, my view of the web page gets off-centre.So in short, If I could just lock the small artboard, that would solve this annoyance. For now, I have two options: either delete the artboard and set it back in the end (it's got to be perfeclty positioned though) or, quite practically, just create a custom view with a shortcut that I can use instead of the "Actual size" one (Cmd+1).

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm designing some business cards, which have an 1/8" bleed, along with elements that hang outside of the border of the card. Is there a way in Illustrator CS3 that I can say, "hide everything outside of the Artboard" so I can see what the finished product will look like?
I know I could print them out or output to PDF and see it without the non-Artboard items, but these approaches seem clumsy and labor intensive. I'd like it if I could have some sort of "cropped view"--where everything not on the Artboard is hidden--to work in.
I'm finding that when i add a second artboard to an existing ai, then save and close, it has disappeared on reopening.
I have both pieces of artwork (one for each page), but 1 of the artboards will have disappeared. Irritatingly the remaining artboard sits between the 2 pieces of artwork - in the wrong position for both!!!
I am struggling with the "sAIArtSet->MatchingArtSet()" in restricting it to find the artset from the selected artboard only.
One way is to iterate through the found art set and compare art's artboard index with the index of the selected artboard. Wanted to know if there is some internal SDK suite which does this iteration in a more optimized way ?
Illustrator cs5 will not export to artboard, even though the artboard is properly set and "Use artboards" is clicked in export dialogue box.
Bleed areas are set and crop marks, all of which print fine. But I want to export to jpeg just to see how the cropped output will look.
I have tried googling this and am able to save each artboard as a jpg but not as an eps or ai file.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI need to get rid of the black border around the artboard. The two images show my drawing lined up with the art board and then inside the artboard. The dark gray is not the artboard.
As you see, the artboard has a black border. I need to get rid of it. It shows up in my project when my color key is green. The black won't go to transparent.
So how-to get rid of the border?
I figured it out. View > Hide Artboards.
