Photoshop :: Brushes/stamps

Aug 17, 2008

I know that there are websites online that allow you to download free brushes and stamps.

However, whenever I try downloading them, I can't figure out how to get them onto Photoshop to use.

Does anyone know how to get these free downloadable brushes and stamps into Photoshop to be used?

Photoshop :: Font/brush/stamps

I am doing a site for a travel company and a lot of their print work includes passport stamps on scenic pictures. They want to mimic that look for their website. However, to make my job easier and to make more accurate stamps, is there any fonts, brush, or stamp sets that have some passport stamps?

Mudbox :: How To Adjust Mid Value Of Custom Stamps

Nov 24, 2013

I've been using Mudbox mostly for texturing, but now I need to use it at work for sculpting.

1) How do I set the mid value of custom stamps. I want the stamp to effect on the surface in the negative and positive, so my neutral areas are 50% grey, black is sculpting down, and white is sculpting up. In Zbrush I would just set the mid value to 50, but in Mudbox it seems I can ony sculpt one at a time, either up, or the inverse down. Is there a way for me to do it like in zbrush?

2) I want to affect certain areas of my mesh without affecting others, like lips or eyelids. I know I can mask off or freeze certain areas so I can adjust, but it's just one more step I don't have time for. Zbrush has a topology setting for the brushes so that you can grab or move the upper lip without affecting the lower lip, and etc...  Is there a setting in Mudbox to do something similar or do I have to resort to masking and freezing?

Today I need to reinstall the Mudbox 2012 64 bits in D:/Autodesk/Mudbox 2012/ isntead de default installation directory in C:,due at Hard disk space problems.

Mudbox :: Stamps Don't Work If Model Is Big In Units?

Feb 14, 2012

As usual, i scaled my base model 10 times before importing in Mudbox for sculpting. But, when i reached about 10 mil polys (level 6) and started adding high freq details, i noticed that stamps have no effect on the model. It's like i never activated them. This happens with all the default and custom stamps i have.I get only the effect of the brush without the stamp.

Only knife brush seem to work and also its stamp works with other brushes as well.On the other hand, stencils work fine and as expected.

AutoCAD 2010 :: PDF Exports And Plot Stamps

Jun 6, 2012

I'm trying to export all my layouts in a drawings to PDF. I'm using EXPORTPDF from the Output tab.

If I'm exporting the current layout, or if I'm creating a multi-sheet PDF, the plot stamp shows up. I get the 'Save as PDF' dialog box where I can tick "Include plot stamp".

However, if I export all layouts as single-sheet, this dialog doesn't appear and the plot stamp is not on the PDF produced.

Paint.NET :: Making Transparent Stamps For Acrobat

GIMP :: Scanning Stamps - Export Selection As JPEG

May 9, 2013

It would be great if gimp could somehow ease the following steps.

1) "select" (stamp from image)
2) "ctrl+c"
3) "ctrl+shift+v" (paste as new image)
4) "ctrl+shift+e" (export)
5) "[filename].jpeg" (alter extension png->jpeg) +"enter" (dialog)
6) +"enter"(export options)
7) + "ctrl+w" (close)
8) +"click on close wo saving"

I wonder if it's not possible to do this in 3 steps:
1) select
2) shortcut export
3) enter filename using predefined (possibly hardcoded) jpeg export options

I saw there's an Export Selection[1] Plugin, but I couldn't get it working with Gimp 2.8 Windows.

Mudbox :: Creating Custom Stamps - Bump Layer Use 8bits Color Space

Apr 10, 2013

I'm trying to create a custom stamp in Photoshop. Done it with a 16 bits colorspace, saved as TIFF with the required options from the official documentation.

Why do i get a 'grainy' result, even painting with a 100% strength white color ? It happens only on a bump layer. On a diffuse layer, its ok.

Do the bump layer use a 8bits color space ???

Photoshop :: Sort Brushes In The Brushes Palette?

Jan 30, 2006

I am interested in grouping and sorting brushes according to size, shape, whatever.

Right now when I add a brush library, they just stack on top of one another.

For example let's say I have a round brush with a 10 diameter, then next to it a round brush with a 20 diameter. If I make a 15, it goes to the bottom of the list, and I have to scroll all around. How can I group them?

I suspect I would have to make my own brush library with my brushes how I want them, then save that and load it?

Photoshop :: Brushes V5 To CS

Jul 17, 2005

I have been using version 5 for years now and I’ve been looking into getting CS but the biggest thing that I’ve noticed is the brush control. I’ve been used to just selecting the opacity (like 10%) and using my stylist and going over the area and getting darker much like a traditional airbrush. I have played around with the flow and opacity but can’t get the look and the feel of v5. I don’t have all the time in the world to play around with it because it’s my friends computer, I just want to know if it can be done or if they have fazed that out with the newer versions.

Photoshop :: Where Have All The Brushes Gone PS 8

Oct 4, 2004

I miss 2 Brushes in PS 8:

1. A "wet brush" (PS7). it gave a look like painting with slime.

2. A brush that gets Thinner in the end of a stroke. Like the stroke of a pen / feather. Or does anyone know how to get this effect, maybe with another technique.

Did they cancel those strokes or am I to blind to find them?

Oct 5, 2008

Im working with Photoshop CS2 and although I have all the brushes that Ive downloaded put into the right folder (program files/adobe/adobe photoshop CS3/presets/brushes) it refuses to see them within the program.

When I installed them photoshop was closed, I even rebooted the computer just in case. I tried moving them into the "adobe photoshop only" folder within the "brushes" folder and it doesn't work.

I know these are more recent brushes so they cant be too out of date for this version.

Photoshop :: How To Speed Up Brushes

Oct 27, 2013

I'm running an older system (WinXP 32-bit, 4 gigs of DDR2 RAM (733 mhz), lots of hard drive space (more than 1TB), 1-gig video card (ATI Radeon 4xxx series), 3GHZ intel dual-core processor, Photoshop CS5

I do a lot of painting, and some of the brushes I have are a lot slower than others. Example- some brushes produce almost no lag, while others produce severe lag. (The slower brushes tend to have a lot of settings in the brush panel such as texture, scattering, dual brush, etc)

I'm planning to upgrade my system soon - I'm considering 8 gigs of DDR3 Ram (2400mhz),  a 3.4GHZ i5 quad-core processor, an upgraded ASUS motherboard, and probably stick with the remaining hardware for now. I'll eventually move on to 16GB of RAM. I will also be using a 64-bit version of XP and maybe even go up to Windows 7 64-bit (If I can set aside the time for all the headaches that come with something new like this)

My question is, with an improved system like this, would I expect to see the lag drop significantly on these slow brushes? Or is it just the brush itself which is slow and an improved system will have no impact? I do very little in the way of filters, 95% of my workflow is pure painting with a variety of brushes and not too many layers for the most part (usually less than 50 and closer to 10 on average). So my main concern is trying to remove the slowdown when painting.

I recently tried downloading the CC trial to test it out and I can click buttons in photoshop with the pen just fine, I can draw with the mouse just fine, but it doesn't put a mark on the canvas with my pen. I then grabbed a cs6 trial, same deal. Seems only 5.5 is working for me. I've reset the brush settings and preferences, I reinstalled my pen drivers.
