Jul 19, 2006

Photoshop :: Images Been Blended In To The Background?

Dec 21, 2005

The two links below use backgrounds ( that im sure are created with PS) that kind of have marks and scratches accross them. Im pretty sure its parchment paper os something like that. The 247media one ( when you click on one of the pull down pages) almost looks like an old scratched plastic chopping board.

My question is whats the most effective strategy for altering source images to create an effect like this. The images in the web pages have been manipulated so it lokks as if they're not there but thier marks and scratches show through. Ive been playing alot in adjustments and blending modes but rather blindly.

Photoshop :: How To Save A Layer Including Blended Multiply Effect Separate From Background

Feb 21, 2012

I have a very simple PSD, so i'll try to explain this super simply..

one transparent layer, with just a pair or eyebrows, with the only added blend effect as 'multiply'

one background with a face, no eyebrows.

the layer blends the eyebrows in to the background face perfectly.

i want to save the layer as a separate file keeping the tranparency and including the result of the multiply effect, without the background.

the reason why i want to do this may confuse things, but basically i want several different eyebrow colours to be interchangeable over this face in an application that doesn't recognise the blending link with the background, so i want to save it in PS !

Photoshop :: Bg Lighting Effects And Airbrushed Look

Nov 15, 2007

I am about to do a photo shoot and would like to make the models look very airbrushed and cartoonish.

So my questions are:

1) Is the background lighting/effect a result of a layer in Photoshop placed over the photograph or was it actually shot that way??? I have seen a guy on TV once show how to use a layer like a mask and create that background effect.... How would I do this?

2) What filters would I have to use to give my image that cartoonish airbrushed effect?

GIMP :: Scale Without Blended Edges?

Aug 6, 2013

just want to scale an image. I do File/Tools/Transform Tools/Scale. Then I adjust the numbers to my desire. If I reduce the size, there is blending that takes place amongst pixel colors.

Looks good except that the edges of the image are also being blended. Blended with what? The edge? I don't get it.

How do I scale an image, but leave the edges alone?

Illustrator :: How To Get Uneven Distribution Of Blended Lines

Aug 19, 2013

Is there a way to achieve uneven distrubution of blended lines in Illustrator CS5? There was one other post on the web asking a similar question to this, which was solved by changing the blend spline.

This works great for objects, but not so much for lines.

Here is an example of what I am looking for where the top is what I would like to achieve and the bottom is the typical blend.

Illustrator :: Know If Selected Art Object Belongs To Series Of Blended Arts?

May 20, 2013

Just draw a rectangle and a circle, then give them different colors. Choose AI menu "Object | Blend | Make", before this step you could set "Specified steps" to an integer in "Blend Options...", now you get a series of blended arts. Using Direct Select Tool you can select the rectangle or circle you drawed at first.

how to know if the art object you selected is one part of the blended series? I looked into the document but cannot find a proper API to get the infomation in AIArtSuite.

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4 :: Use Eye Dropper To Copy Blended Colored Word?

May 9, 2011

I have a word that has an orange outline.  Then it has a transitional blend going from yellow to the same orange as the outline.

I have worked out that I can use the eye dropper tool then use the right mouse button with the fill bucket, this will give me the color that the eye dropper picked.

But how do I then use the eye dropper tool to do a fountain fill.  The yellow I need to copy is not a standard color that is found on my colors to my right.  So I need to some how use the eye dropper tool to set the first and second transition colors.

Photoshop :: How To Cut Image From White Background And Place On Black Background

Aug 24, 2011

I seem to be having problems when I lasso round a specific part of a photo taken with a white background and then try to add that part of the image to a plain #000000 black background.

I always seem to get a white outline around the image when I place it on the black background, even when its on ZERO feathered. I don't like using feathered as it adds a smudge round the outside of the image.

Photoshop :: 2 Pics - One With Only Background, One With Object & Background

Aug 12, 2008

I recently saw on TV that someone had 2 nearly identical images - one with just the background, another one from exactly the same point of view featuring an object before the background.

He was then able to subtract the background so only the object in front remained. Is that possible with Photoshop as well? I have version CS3.

GIMP :: Cut Out Background From Logo To Get Transparent Background

Sep 16, 2011

I was asked to cut out the background from a logo to make it transparent so the logo would look nice on a variety of backgrounds. I've been given a good quality jpeg file.

What I did was I selected (by colour) the background (white), inverted the selection, copied it and pasted as a new image.

It's all fine (the logo itself doesn't have any other elements) but there's still some whiteish/greyish outline around certain elements of the logo.

If I were to do it manually, it'd probably take ages. What would be the best way to accomplish it?

GIMP :: How To Change 1920-1080p Background Into 1920-1200 Background

May 4, 2012

I want to change a 1920-1080 p background, into a 1920 - 1200 background.

I don't want to re-size it or lose image quality, the background for this can be easily replicated through some simple editing (drawing strait lines with the paint brush tool, and basically filling in to expand the background) Is there a way to do this? Here is the picture I want to change:

[URL].....

I just want it so that the pin-wheel design extends outward as to make the entire image 1920-1200, rather then the 1920-1080 it is now. (without losing image quality of the center wheel.)

Photoshop :: Background For CS3?

May 1, 2007

Im on a MacBook Pro and I just installed Photoshop CS3. Its all fine n dandy, but the actual photoshop window bugs me. There is no background for the application. so if I'm working on something, switch to firefox to look at something, then switch back to photoshop I can still see the firefox window.

How can I add a background? I cannot stand this, It distracts my eye from the actual document.

I've look through the options and I cannot find anything, awhile ago I found some 3rd party mac software that added a background to any app, but I can't find it again.

Photoshop :: Background

May 13, 2008

I am creating an invitation for my wedding. All I am trying to do is place 2 images (family crests) on one page without them overlaping. I create a 'NEW' page with the U.S. Paper preset, then 'Place' one pic in the upper right, resize it to fill the top right corner, then 'Place' the other one in the bottom left and resize it to fill the bottom left corner. Problem is, the background of the second image overlaps the first one (white background). When I try to select the part that overlaps and cut it, it says I can't because it's a Smart Object. All I want to do is to be able to see the 1st image behind the second one. The images themselves would not overlap if they were transparent, just the white background of the images... I hope this makes sense... I need to be able to see-through the parts that overlap, since that area is just white background anyway!
