View 2 RepliesWhen attempting to add text to a photo, the typed text is not visible on the layer in the "Layers Box" until exiting the Text Tool. Text nexer is visible on the photo Background image. If the edited image is saved, the added typed text is not saved; only the original Background image. How do I reset the Text Tool so it will be functional?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI think I may have made a big error. While adding text and applying (experimenting) various "Effects" with the text, I used the garbage can icon to remove the "Effect", thinking it is going to remove the 'Effect" from the text, until I realized I had to remove the "Effect" with the edit button, not the garbage can. Have I now permanently removed the various "Effects" permanently or just off the screen? How do I regain them back onto the menu column? How many "Effects" should be visible in order to have the complete set? This was my first experiment with the lettering effects and hope I haven't lost them forever.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSuddenly, I must have hit something, all new text added to my drawing when using Multi-line mode is Upside down. When using single line mode new text is backward. When looking at the properties the text is NOT shown as upside down or backward and my text style is set to Standard and has not changed. This problem is isolated to the current drawing. If I open a new drawing text is entered correctly.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have yet another question. I can see the text in a text frame with a script like this,
var doc = app.activeDocument;
var myTextFrames = doc.textFrames[0];
var myTF_Content = myTextFrames.contents; // this will return the string inside the text frame
alert(myTF_Content);
but how do I add some text to the beginning of that text? lets say that this is my textFrame[0] = "this is a simple test string".what is the proper way to add text like the number one and a period to the beginning?
I'm trying to add English text to an Italian comic I've scanned. I scanned the pages at 600 DPI, saved them as PNGs, then reduced the size of the images to 19 percent of the original scans.
when I try to add English text to the dialogue balloons, the text remains the same size as it was in the full-size image, even though I've set the character size to 8 points in the character options box. The only way I know of to get around this is to add the text to the full-size image, which is a cumbersome, time-consuming process, or reduce the character size to something like 1.5 points, which produces roughly the text size I'm after.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI click on the 'T' to type text and color the text, say, orange; if I then try to add a black outline to it in Edit | Stroke I notice that 'Stroke' is greyed out.
How can I add that black border around the letter(s) .
Is there a way to add inner and outer borders to text like Premiere does?

View 1 Replies View RelatedActually I have two questions:
1) I am working on a web page in Dreamweaver and I want to add some content boxes made in Photoshop. I have sliced a small area of the content box which I want to use as a link and am now trying to add it to my Dreamweaver page. However, when I save it for web and try to open it into the Dreanweaver page, it comes out as a new page; I can't seem to add just the content boxes. How can I add just the content boxes to my page?
2) What is the best way to add text to my content boxes? Is it possible to add text in Dreamweaver to a content box made in Photoshop? If so, how?
I have attached an image of a font (Helana) I'm designing a logo in. As you can see it has lots of scrolls, flowers, leaves etc running off it... I'd like to keep the letter itself one colour, but make all scrolls, flowers, leaves etc are all different colours / shades...
I've tried to use live paint but it just changes the colour of the whole thing. Should I try Photoshop?
Running Vista home edition Photoshop Elements 7.
When i try to add text to a picture the picture turns light orange and i can only type in white.
i have recently bought the text felbridge which i wish to add to photoshop as i am attempting to put together a website.
how i can add this font to my selection?
I have a photo that I'd like to add text to. The text is very simple, and I would like it in the upper left corner of the image. If someone could be so kind as to maybe work the image if they were so inclined, and then maybe explain how it was done.
I've tried simply using the text tool, but for starters, the text isn't displayed properly. For example, when I typed an "F," the displayed text was a, "?." Sounds like a font issue, I tried all the fonts, they all display a "?."
Second, I know I need to make a new layer for the text to be added to the image, but I'm not sure how to go about doing this. I'm not sure what kind of layer to open for it, and I'm not sure how to blend the layers once I do. I also want the beginning letter to be one font, and the following three to be another. For example, the beginning letter to be a cursive lowercase, large font "f," while the other letters are arial font lowercase, smaller font, "ine." With the period included in the text. This isn't what I want the text to read, but it should help you guys that choose to help come up with something.
On a side note, I'd love to take those trees out of the pic. Would you guys recommend matching the color of the sky and brushing over, or is there another way that might be better. I'd like this pic to be as clean as possible.
I select the horizontal type tool and have my font in black but everything I type is invisibe. in the text box. I have added text to pictures before doing this but never had this problem. is there some setting i goofed.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI opened Elements editor today, and found I could no longer add any text to a new image.
I start Elements, go to the editor, create a new image, then add text, and I cannot see the text at all. Things I have checked:
Various fonts
Various sizes
Various colors
Various opacities
Anti-alias on and off
Various styles (including none)
I've tried horizontal and vertical text
I've tried setting the background to various colors
Zoom level seems to make no difference
Doesn't matter if I create the new image with white or transparent background
When I try the Horizontal Mask tool, I get a message "No pixels were selected"
The layer names contain the text I typed into the image.
I am trying to place pictures into my paragraph text so that the text wraps around the picture (like you can in Word).? Can anyone let me know how to do this in Photoshop 7.0 for Windows??
All I can find is how to wrap text around object (i.e. word on a coffee cup image itself) or putting the actual picture as fill for the font.?
how to do this? I have included a PDF of a sample of what I'm trying to do.
On a certain number of frames I want "hi" and on another number I want "bye" But the first text is on all the other frames.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a pic of a friend of mine riding his motorcycle on a winding road. I was trying add his name to the road behind him and make it look like it was painted on the road. I tried to draw a path down the yellow center line and type text but could not really get the right perspective. I also tried just doing individual letters and transforming them (distort, skew, perspective, etc) but I cannot seem to get them to look correct. By themselves they look ok, but not really in line with the other letters around them. I've tried looking for tutorials but I cannot come up with anything. I do not doubt that I am just not searching the correct terms or something.
Is there any easier way to do what I am wanting to do?
I am trying to add a simple text layer to some relatively small JPEG files - each file is only about 3 or 4 MB in size before any editing or additions are made to the files. I am using P-shop CS2 on a PC with Windows XP SP2.When I add a few lines of simple text (with no special effects) to any of these files and attempt to save the edited file as a .TIFF or .PSD file with the text as its own layer in the file - the resulting .TIFF or .PSD file is a 30 or 35 MB file which is hard to work with because of its size. These files have only two layers in them - the text layer and the base image. It just does not seem logical that a simple text layer would make a file increase in size by 10 times.
I would like to try to save the edited image files as .TIFF or .PSD so that I can go back and make future edits to the text layer.I have tried to save the edited file with the text layer as a .zip file but these files are also still very large - 20 MB or so.Maybe I have some basic file settings wrong that are making the files so large? Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can add a simple text layer to a relatively small image file, save it as a .TIFF or .PSD file and keep the resulting file size manageable?
I'm trying to save a website template. I've made the appropriate slices
to save sections of the canvas as individual images. In its current
state, all the text is saved as an image. Accordingly to make any
changes to the text I need to do all the editing in Photoshop. I would
like to be able to save just the images and have text fields that are
editable in Frontpage or Dreamweaver.
In Dreamweaver tried simply deleting the image splices that contained
text and inserting a text box. When I do so all the other images become
misaligned and my whole webpage is screwed up. I would also like the
text area to be adjusable. Is there any way to make the surrounding
images adjustable to accomodate more lines of text without losing the
alignment of the images?
I have a MAC and have installed PSE 11 successfully. I'm working on a birthday project and everytime I try to add text, the whole thing freezes. I force shut down as it's the only thing to get me out of it, and reboot, and it does it again, and again and again.

View 2 Replies View Relatedn my Image i have several layers, and two adjustment-layers for manipulating hue/saturation of parts of certain layers. Think something like having a picture of a person, and having the adjustment-layers to change the persons pants and shirt independently. So you can easily make color-variations of what the person wears, and save them, e.g. as jpg.
What I want is to add a little textarea which ends up on each jpg (not meta-data, I mean readable in a corner on the actual image), that gives me the color-values from the adjustment layers that were used to create that very image. So at a later time when I have one of my jpgs and it hits me that this exact color-combination is perfekt I can recreate it easily. Of course I could do it by hand, but is there a way to automate it, using text-variables linked to the hue/saturation-layers?
I have 300 photos that are being saved as thumbnails for my online store. I am looking to see if I am able (in automated batch saving) to add "-TN" after the document name, before the extension. It will let me add the dash but not "TN."
An example of how my document name needs to be is "MyFile-TN.gif".
I have an excel list of about 2000 names. I need to add each name text to a image I created and then have it saved as a separate file. Is there any kind of automation/shortcut to do something like this, rather then manaully typing each name?
