Photoshop :: Will GeForce 9300 Work With CS4...
May 26, 2009
I'm about to replace my aging computer and need advice on the video card. The above is standard and the Nvidea 9500 GS or ATI Radeon 4650 are offered at nominal cost for upgrades. I have no interest in gaming and don't watch movies on the monitor.

I have a Geforce 8600M GT in my Macbookpro 10.6.8 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Core with 4GB 667 Mhz DDR2 SDRAM. I tried using it for 3D in PS6 but it doesn't seem to be 'enabled' and OpenGl unavailable. In the preferences in PS it states that graphics hardware unavailable and that I should upgrade my driver or card but on the adobe specifications for PS6 my card seems to comply and I can't find anything to update.

I am experiencing problems printing vectors from corel draw X5 on windows 7 to an HP deskjet 9300.
I previously had no problems with coreldraw 12 on XP to the same printer. I"m a screen printer and need to color seperate regularly and at the moment get round the problem by converting to bitmap, which prints fine.
The moment I try to print in vector, the page is ejected unprinted. If I print a bitmap and vector side by side on the same page, the bitmap prints fine but the vector does not print at all.

I just upgraded from a GeForce 8800GTX to a GeForce GTX295 (which is in fact a SLI GXT260 on one card).
I am running Vista x64.
Since the upgrade, Photoshop doesn't let me enable GPU acceleration (in 32 and 64 bit version). The newest beta driver is installed and I did not change anything else on this machine.

From the Nvidia web site it says that the GeForce GTX 560 Ti supports:Â DirectX 11 > 3D Vision > PhysX > CUDA > SLI >
Â
301.24 drivers have been used and have downgraded to 296.10 to see if that would work, but it didn't.
Â
When I check the performance tab under Advanced it shows that the OpenCL option is grayed out. When I check the Sys info log it also shows that OpenCL is Not availible (included below).Â
Â
Why is this and when will it be fixed? Now that CS6 is shipping it should be working.

Windows 7 pro
intel i7-3930k cpu 3.2ghz
32 gig ram
64bit
Geforce GTX 680 with updated drivers
Â
Adobe Photoshop CS6 keeps crashing. I do not think it supports this GPU, which is a major bummer. Do i need to swap GPUs to a 500 series?

Just recently Photoshop CS5 64-bit has not been detecting my GPU. It was working perfectly fine for over a year until about two months ago after, I guess, a driver update? I'm not sure which version may have caused it to happen but I just upgraded the driver to the one that was released today on Nvidia (GeForce 306.97 Driver), doing a clean install, and Photoshop is still not detecting the card...It's frustrating as I'd like to be able to use the Open GL functions again. I also have two hard drives if that could be any source of the problem.
Â
To elaborate, I am running an SSD (C:) and an HDD (E:). I have Photoshop and my GPU drivers installed in C:.
Â
Anyways, I opened up preferences and tried switching the scratch drive to E: and restarted Photoshop. I got an error saying "Could not open a scratch file because of a disk error." Pressing "OK", I received another error message "Could not initialize Photoshop because the preferences file was invaled (it has been deleted)". Pressing "OK" again gets Photoshop to start up and suddenly it is recognizing my GPU and allowing Open GL functions. But as soon as I close out of Photoshop and re-open it, it's back to not detecting my GPU and has Open GL functions grayed out.
I searched the forums for similar issues and came across with the possibility of permission issues or missing TEMP folder...however the permissions look fine and there is a temp folder in my C: drive. What's with this? I'd love to find a fix ASAP as I use PS every day and it's starting to become a real work efficiency issue!

The openGl is 3.0. So I think the opengl in Photoshop have to work or is the IGP to weak? With a ATI 4670 it works fine and this card is not listed in the kb eather.

I just bought a brand new Alienware M17x R4 with Windows 8 Pro x64 and Photoshop CS6 won't recognize my NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675M GPU?I've already updated Windows 8, Photoshop and the Nvidia graphics driver.
Â
I spent so much on a nice graphics card but now it seems PS CS6 can't even use it. It's using the Intel HD4000 instead: I also tried this: URL... According to this, my graphics card should work, it's a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675M, which is a 600 series GPU: URL...Tested video cards for Photoshop CS6 #.
Adobe tested the following video cards before the release of Photoshop CS6Â. This document lists the video card by series. The minimum amount of RAM supported on video cards for Photoshop CS6 is 256 MB. Photoshop 13.1 cannot display 3D features if you have less than 512 MB VRAM on your video card.
Important: This document is updated as newly released cards are tested. However, Adobe cannot test all cards in a timely manner. If a video card is not listed here, but was released after May 2012, you can assume that the card will work with Photoshop CS6.Adobe tested laptop and desktop versions of the following cards. Be sure to download the latest driver for your specific model. (Laptop and desktop versions have slightly different names.)nVidia GeForce 8000, 9000, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600 series.

It seems I have no more room to install a stand alone Video Capture Card and the maximum video card I can and am about to install on my Gateway 700XL computer is a GeForce 7950 GT AGP which does not include video capture. So, I have been told that I should consider buying a "Dazzle Digital Video Creator DVC-90 Video Capture Device and Movie Maker" devise. I assume I have no need for anything related to the "Movie Maker" for I have VS11Plus and may soon upgrade to the latest Video Studio if my system is compatible with the latest. URL.....

Something else that may be worth adding is info on the Camcorder which is: URL....

On my XPS 400 system I have a Geforce 7900GS 256MB card installed and on the other system, an XPS 730 H2C, I have dual GTX 280s.
Quadro cards designed for PS CS4 were simply way outside what I could afford. Just like I could not afford faster (above 7200 RPM) harddrives.
I figure, that is the experence of most PS license holders who visit and post in these forums.
My lay research tells me that "possibly" the biggest difference between, say my Geforce latest and greatest, and your Cadilac Quadro is in what the respective drivers are programmed to do.

In Photoshop CS5 some of the functions on 64 bit do not work, but everything seems to work on 32 bit. I have not searched for all the functions that don't work on 64 bit. I just use the 32 bit program, but I would like to know why the 64 bit program doesn't work right. I would like to be able to use it.

I keep running into a situation where I would like to be able to create an edge or a work axis at the intersection of a work plane and the surface of the part. I figured out a work around if the surface is flat, but I haven't figured out a work around for a curved surface.
How do I create work axis where work plane intersects curved surface?
Or put another way: How do I project intersection of work plane and curved surface onto the work plane in a 2D sketch?
I need to be able to draw a 2D sketch on the work plane, but get a perfectly matching projected line onto the work plane, from the curved surface, at the intersection of the curved surface and the work plane.
The attached jpg shows the intersection in question. I circled it.

All of my block updates work just fine when I use them in MEP 12, but we have a couple of drafters working in vanilla AutoCAD & for some reason the same commands/ blocks/ settings (same exact file even) that work in MEP do not work in regular ACAD.
Now they do "work" - the commands/ block insertion - but the annotative adjustment (i.e. 1/4" to 1/8" to etc) do not work until I select the block and add the desired scale to its annotative object scale list - why is this necessary? it isn't in MEP? The blocks work/ act properly annotatively once inserted and adjusted as mentioned above, but again, why? Why? Why is this necessary? All of the scale are in the block file as it resides in my block folder...?

As the title states... I can't use it. So every time I want to reset my view after rotating, I need to click the button for "reset view". However, ESC key works without issues on other programs / games.

Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't seem to work at all. I have seen another member ask this question eons ago, but he didn't receive any answer.

I have the latest update of photoshop 6 and of Lightroom 4 (4.3) I used to be able to open a photo from within LR4 with photoshop and after saving it from PS the picture appeared next to the LR original. This does not happen anymore and if this is introduced by LR4.3 or by the latest PS6 update. Photoshop _does_ save the picture in the right location on disk, but it does _NOT_Â appear in Lightroom. Photoshop "creates" a "new" directory in the lightroom catalog (which in fact is the right one) but there is NO relation between the original file and the one saved by PS.

When I first started using 3D in Photoshop it was working rather smoothly and seemed to chug along fairly fast. Then one day when I was working in it as usual and tried to perform some random action it just started hanging with the spinning blue circle for about 2 or 3 minutes.
It continued to do this ever since, sometimes hanging for up to 5 minutes before performing my command. Some actions cause it to hang longer than others, such as creating a new light and changing the diffuse color of a material, which is by far the worst in terms of the amount of time it will hang.
The only time that I had a partial success was after I had uninstalled Photoshop, then ran the adobe creative suite cleaner tool, then manually searched through the registry for every reference to adobe and Photoshop I could find and deleted them. I then reinstalled Photoshop and updated it. When I started using it in 3D after that it was running smooth as butter, no hangs or stalls on anything, including creating lights and changing diffuse colors.
But my joy was not long lived, as after about 2 hours of use it started to do its usual behavior of hanging again. So I tried that approach again and it did not seem to work a second or third or fourth time. So out of desperation and all out of options, I decided to run process monitor from sysinternals to see if it showed me anything even though I knew that I probably would not understand what it were showing me.
I noticed a lot of errors with the results of "name not found" for registry calls, "invalid parameter" for directory quarries, and "no such file" for file reads. But the one that seems to be happening the most whenever the program is hanging is it is trying to open a file from C:program filesAdobephotoshop x64 equiredCgShaders, but that directory is nonexistent on my system.
I'm going to include the process monitor log file and it will be in pml format which you will need process monitor to read, but it is a very small, portable, and free program which can be downloaded from[URL],,,And here is my system info from Photoshop (I have a first generation I3 processor with intel HD graphics, which as I said was running fairly smooth before my problem started):

I have photoshop 5.5 and it works totally fine with my bosto kingtee tablet. I recently tried downloading the CC trial to test it out and I can click buttons in photoshop with the pen just fine, I can draw with the mouse just fine, but it doesn't put a mark on the canvas with my pen. I then grabbed a cs6 trial, same deal. Seems only 5.5 is working for me. I've reset the brush settings and preferences, I reinstalled my pen drivers.
