In both PS6 & PS7 I've always had issues with the Transform property bar. If I scale up, the figures I type in the Width & Height boxes are rarely accurately applied when scaling smaller shapes up a reasonable amount.
The following is an example:
Original path shape size W=37px & H=24px
Change to W=300px & H=222px
Result when applied W=300px & H=230PX
When I click Edit/Free Transform Path, the Transform property bar shows the H=222px I typed, is now 230px.
Sometimes it's just a single pixel out on H or W. If I change it again it will be applied correctly. It seems it cannot accurately jump by too much in one go. Constraining doesn't help either...Strange.
Just wondered if it's my system, or a common fault with PS. You can test this by creating a rectangle under approx 50px X 50px. Then, rescale by typing into the W & H boxes to approx 300px X 300px. Sometimes it's right, sometimes it isn't
I know I am able to transform and object by typing feet (') and inches(") ex. 5' 6" but is it possible to display both? I know I can get it to display feet or inches but it always completes with a decimal. Is there a work around for this?
Problem: Transform applied to Smart Object fails to transform an attached Smart Filters Mask.
I mean a Transform, including Free Transform, as found in the Edit menu. A simple move by the Move Tool is OK.
A workaround until this bug is squashed is to encapsulate the Smart Object + Smart Filters + Filter Mask inside another Smart Object and transform that. However, that will not be a satisfactory solution in some cases. If a filter has size parameter(s), e.g. Gaussian Blur radius, a scaling or warping/distorting transform applied after the filter will obviously differ from the filter applied after the transform.
In any case, the workaround is inconvenient to subsequent editing and experimenting with filters and masks.
I have been trying to find a method to extract custom properties from the custom property bag.
I have been able to extract the property value, using the "GetProperty" and the associated "GetValue" method, this method works when I know exactly what property name I am looking for. What do you do when you don't know the property name?
here is my code snippet..
dim myProps as acsmcustompropertybag = mysheet.getcustompropertybag dim myProp as iacsmcustompropertyvalue = myprops.getproperty("SOMENAME") dim myPV as string = myProp.GetValue
what I want to do is:
dim myProps as acsmcustompropertybag = mysheet.getcustompropertybag dim myPN as string = ??????????.tostring dim myProp as iacsmcustompropertyvalue = myprops.getproperty(myPN) dim myPV as string = myProp.GetValue
I am using Photoshop cs6 windows version. First of all, see this picture.
Right now I am trying to animate layer masks which are attached to individual layer groups, but as you can see, the deeper layer nest goes, the harder it is to animate , because I can't read names of keyable property and I can't extend the property bar ,like After Effects,to read the full name of key able property in Photoshop. Is there any way to avoid this problem? I really need to animate layer masks.
I just realized that brush presets won't save a brushes texture which is slightly annoying. I'm in CS6 btw and I'm familiar with photoshop which is why I'm posting here.
For example I have two brushes, a watercolor one (with texture turned on in the brushes panel to the watercolor background texture) I save it as a tool preset (I'm not making the saving as a brush preset mistake). I go make a paintbrush brush with a different background texture and save it as a tool preset. When I go use the watercolor brush it has the paintbrush background texture and NOT the watercolor.
I never touched the texture property until lately so I'm not sure if this has always been this way...
Is there some way to save that property or do I manually have to go and change it each time. I want to be able to share my brushes. Do I have to instruct people on which texture to use?
I'm need to get the stripes to bend like in the photo. I tried it once with skew transformation, using it couple of times, step by step, but it did not look that smooth.
So is there a way I can do it? I have no clue how, if at all, it can be done.
Currently testing Photoshop CS (for MacOSX) and i've knowticed that the 3D transform filter has been removed. Does anyone have any clue where i can get it from; other than the CD.
I have CS5 and when I drag a photo into an existing page it is in a transform box. On CS4 when I did the same thing that only happended when I selected the image to resize. I like to move my items around and resize as I go. Is there a way to do this in CS5?
I draw a rectangle and I want to change its shape. How do I go about doing that? I have selected the Direct Selection tool and clicked on the outlines of the shape (the path?) and this brings up 4 squares on each corner (handles?) and when I click and drag I am able to pull the line/path out, up, down etc. However, I would like to be able to move the lines in a curve. I am looking to bring up the line with the round handles ~ like when the Pen tool is used.
I did it once by mistake but now I can't figure out what I did. I thought maybe that I had used Ctrl + click on the shape or path but that doesn't seem to be it.I also tried going to the Pen tool to manipulate the path the way I want but that just either added or took away a handle ~ which is okay and great and all but not for what I am trying to accomplish.
I've recently started using Photoshop CS5. For some reason when I select a path and hit command T to transform it, it doesn't work. The transform ignores that I have the path selected and trys to transform whichever layer is active.
Im having a rather annoying problem with transform again, I'm trying to create a cylinder effect from a circle, I duplicate the layer select free transform and nudge it over 1 pixel then click (shift alt command T) to repeat the transformation, it seems to work ok when I nudge to the right but when I nudge to the left, the left hand edge of the duplicated circles is cut off along the line of the original transform controls as if there is an invisible clipping mask, but there are no masks in the document, quitting photoshop and restarting and reopening the document doesn't solve the problem.
All aspects of transform are lagging under Windows 8.1, including rotate, free transform and warp. This is different from Windows 8.0, where Transform was working fine. On a 360 degree image rotation using transform I am getting about 5-6 animation frames (very stuttery and unusable)
Running all latest software and drivers, GPU rotate canvas is working fine and smoothly.
I know paths are vector information, so I assume they can be transformed, enlarged for example, without losing sharpness. How to transform a path. I have a path that was created on a small image that I want to use in a large image. I have dragged the path from the small image to the large one, but I need to resize it.
I am having an issue when trying to use the Free Transform function in Photoshop CS5.1. After pressing command+T, the bounding box appears, but when I attempt to resize, the program becomes unresponsive. After a minute or two I can cancel the Free Transform and the program become responsive once again. Seems to be more of an issue when trying to transform more than one layer at once.
I am on a 1 year old MacBook Pro with 16GB, I have 10 GB of free space. I am on OS X 10.7.5 (recently installed this upgrade and this may be part of the issue.)
I am in 64-bit mode. My memory usage set at 70%. The cache tile size is set to 1024K . I have reset my settings, ran all available updates.
My card specs are: Video Card Vendor: ATI Technologies Inc. Video Card Renderer: ATI Radeon HD 6750M OpenGL Engine
After visiting the AMD site, found that they do not have an update for 10.7.5 and do not have the HD6750 listed for Mac.
Edit: Also, cannot move the image once I press command+T. (Or at least it make the program unresponsive for a while)
Update: Uninstalled entire design suite and re-installed. Still having the same issue.
Does anyone know how to select part of a pixel image and transform not only the Background Layer but also its adjustment layers at the same time? When you Shift-click the layers together, the transform box doesnt encase the selected part any longer but rather it encases the entire image.
I have 10 images that are same shape and size and i must transform them all to different shape that is very complicated, can i somehow transform one and then transform them all the same way as first one?
I cant just group select and transform because i need to use Wrap filter.

I try to free transform an image whether it be rotating, enlarging, scewing or whatever, after I deselect, photoshop or imageready will automatically try and blur the image around so it seems smoother.
This is fine most of the time, but it produces some transparent pixels, and gifs have problems with these. Is there a way to stop PS and IR from doing this on a free transform so it just leaves the image as it is before deselecting?
my photoshop application disc, or my Illustrator disc will not start when put into my cd, every other disc works and starts just fine, just not my adobe disc,s, all I want to do is get the 3d transform.8bf filter and install it because it does not load autumatically, is there anywhere I can get this filter? using cs on XP
